고린도전서 11장

 

11:1 내가 그리스도를 본받는 사람인 것과 같이, 여러분은 나를 본받는 사람이 되십시오

( Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ.)

 

여자가 머리에 쓰는 너울

 

11:2 여러분이 나를 모든 면으로 기억하며, 또 내가 여러분에게 전해 준 대로 전통을 지키고 있으니, 나는 여러분을 칭찬합니다

( I praise you for remembering me in everything and for holding to the teachings, just as I passed them on to you.)

 

11:3 그런데 각 남자의 머리는 그리스도요, 여자의 머리는 남자요, 그리스도의 머리는 하나님이신 것을, 여러분이 알기를 바랍니다

( Now I want you to realize that the head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is man, and the head of Christ is God.)

 

11:4 남자가 머리에 무엇을 쓰고 기도하거나 예언하는 것은 자기 머리를 부끄럽게 하는 것입니다

( Every man who prays or prophesies with his head covered dishonors his head.)

 

11:5 그러나 여자가 머리에 무엇을 쓰지 않은 채로 기도하거나 예언하는 것은, 자기 머리를 부끄럽게 하는 것입니다 그것은 머리를 밀어 버린 것과 꼭 마찬가지입니다

( And every woman who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered dishonors her head--it is just as though her head were shaved.)

 

11:6 여자가 머리에 아무것도 쓰지 않으려면, 머리를 깎아야 합니다 그러나 머리를 깎거나 미는 것이 여자에게 부끄러운 일이면, 머리를 가려야 합니다

( If a woman does not cover her head, she should have her hair cut off; and if it is a disgrace for a woman to have her hair cut or shaved off, she should cover her head.)

 

11:7 그러나 남자는 하나님의 형상이요, 하나님의 영광이니, 머리를 가려서는 안 됩니다 그러나 여자는 남자의 영광입니다

( A man ought not to cover his head, since he is the image and glory of God; but the woman is the glory of man.)

 

11:8 남자가 여자에게서 난 것이 아니라, 여자가 남자에게서 났습니다

( For man did not come from woman, but woman from man;)

 

11:9 또 남자가 여자를 위하여 지으심을 받은 것이 아니라, 여자가 남자를 위하여 지으심을 받았습니다

( neither was man created for woman, but woman for man.)

 

11:10 그러므로 여자는 천사들 때문에 그 머리에 권위의 표를 지니고 있어야 합니다

( For this reason, and because of the angels, the woman ought to have a sign of authority on her head.)

 

11:11 그러나 주님 안에서는, 남자 없이 여자가 있지 않고, 여자 없이 남자가 있지 않습니다

( In the Lord, however, woman is not independent of man, nor is man independent of woman.)

 

11:12 여자가 남자에게서 난 것과 마찬가지로, 남자도 여자의 몸에서 났습니다 그리고 모든 것은 다 하나님에게서 났습니다

( For as woman came from man, so also man is born of woman. But everything comes from God.)

 

11:13 여러분은 스스로 판단하여 보십시오 여자가 머리에 아무것도 쓰지 않은 채로 하나님께 기도하는 것이 마땅한 일이겠습니까?

( Judge for yourselves: Is it proper for a woman to pray to God with her head uncovered?)

 

11:14 자연 그 자체가 여러분에게 가르쳐 주지 않습니까? 남자가 머리를 길게 하는 것은 그에게 불명예가 되지만,

( Does not the very nature of things teach you that if a man has long hair, it is a disgrace to him,)

 

11:15 여자가 머리를 길게 하는 것은 그에게 영광이 되지 않습니까? 긴 머리카락은 그의 머리를 가려 주는 구실을 하는 것입니다

( but that if a woman has long hair, it is her glory? For long hair is given to her as a covering.)

 

11:16 이 문제를 두고 논쟁을 벌이려고 생각하는 사람이 있을지는 모르나, 그런 풍습은 우리에게도 없고, 하나님의 교회에도 없습니다

( If anyone wants to be contentious about this, we have no other practice--nor do the churches of God.)

 

성만찬의 오용을 책망하다

 

11:17 다음에 지시하려는 일에 대해서는 나는 여러분을 칭찬할 수 없습니다 그것은 여러분이 모여서 하는 일이 유익이 되기보다는 오히려 해가 되기 때문입니다

( In the following directives I have no praise for you, for your meetings do more harm than good.)

 

11:18 첫째로, 여러분이 교회에 모일 때에 여러분 가운데 분열이 있다는 말이 들리는데, 그것이 어느 정도는 사실이라고 믿습니다

( In the first place, I hear that when you come together as a church, there are divisions among you, and to some extent I believe it.)

 

11:19 하기야 여러분 가운데서 바르게 사는 사람들이 환히 드러나려면, 여러분 가운데 파당도 있어야 할 것입니다

( No doubt there have to be differences among you to show which of you have God's approval.)

 

11:20 그렇지만 여러분이 분열되어 있으니, 여러분이 한 자리에 모여서 먹어도, 그것은 주님의 만찬을 먹는 것이 아닙니다

( When you come together, it is not the Lord's Supper you eat,)

 

11:21 먹을 때에, 사람마다 제가끔 자기 저녁을 먼저 먹으므로, 어떤 사람은 배가 고프고, 어떤 사람은 술에 취합니다

( for as you eat, each of you goes ahead without waiting for anybody else. One remains hungry, another gets drunk.)

 

11:22 여러분에게 먹고 마실 집이 없습니까? 그렇지 않으면, 여러분이 하나님의 교회를 멸시하고, 가난한 사람들을 부끄럽게 하려는 것입니까? 내가 여러분에게 무슨 말을 해야 하겠습니까? 여러분을 칭찬해야 하겠습니까? 이 점에서는 칭찬할 수 없습니다

( Don't you have homes to eat and drink in? Or do you despise the church of God and humiliate those who have nothing? What shall I say to you? Shall I praise you for this? Certainly not!)

 

성만찬의 제정;마26:26-29,막14:22-25,눅22:14-20

 

11:23 내가 여러분에게 전해 준 것은 주님으로부터 전해 받은 것입니다 곧 주 예수께서 잡히시던 밤에, 빵을 들어서

( For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you: The Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread,)

 

11:24 감사를 드리신 다음에, 떼시고 말씀하셨습니다 "이것은 너희를 위하는 내 몸이다 이것을 행하여 나를 기억하여라"

( and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, "This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me.")

 

11:25 식후에, 잔도 이와 같이 하시고서, 말씀하셨습니다 "이 잔은 내 피로 세운 새 언약이다 너희가 마실 때마다 이것을 행하여, 나를 기억하여라"

( In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me.")

 

11:26 그러므로 여러분이 이 빵을 먹고 이 잔을 마실 때마다, 주님의 죽으심을 그가 오실 때까지 선포하는 것입니다

( For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes.)

 

주의 만찬을 바르게 행하여야 한다

 

11:27 그러므로 누구든지, 합당하지 않게 주님의 빵을 먹거나 주님의 잔을 마시는 사람은, 주님의 몸과 피를 범하는 죄를 짓는 것입니다

( Therefore, whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of sinning against the body and blood of the Lord.)

 

11:28 그러니 각 사람은 자기를 살펴야 합니다 그런 다음에 그 빵을 먹고, 그 잔을 마셔야 합니다

( A man ought to examine himself before he eats of the bread and drinks of the cup.)

 

11:29 몸을 분별함이 없이 먹고 마시는 사람은, 자기에게 내릴 심판을 먹고 마시는 것입니다

( For anyone who eats and drinks without recognizing the body of the Lord eats and drinks judgment on himself.)

 

11:30 이 때문에 여러분 가운데는 몸이 약한 사람과 병든 사람이 많고, 죽은 사람도 적지 않습니다

( That is why many among you are weak and sick, and a number of you have fallen asleep.)

 

11:31 우리가 스스로 살피면, 심판을 받지 않을 것입니다

( But if we judged ourselves, we would not come under judgment.)

 

11:32 그런데 주님께서 우리를 심판하시고 징계하시는 것은, 우리가 세상과 함께 정죄를 받지 않게 하시려는 것입니다

( When we are judged by the Lord, we are being disciplined so that we will not be condemned with the world.)

 

11:33 그러므로 나의 형제자매 여러분, 여러분이 먹으려고 모일 때에는 서로 기다리십시오

( So then, my brothers, when you come together to eat, wait for each other.)

 

11:34 배가 고픈 사람은 집에서 먹어야 할 것입니다 그것은, 여러분이 모이는 일로 심판받는 일이 없도록 하려는 것입니다 그 밖에 남은 문제들은 내가 가서 바로잡겠습니다

( If anyone is hungry, he should eat at home, so that when you meet together it may not result in judgment. And when I come I will give further directions.)

고린도전서 12장

 

성령의 선물

 

12:1 형제자매 여러분, 신령한 은사들에 대하여 여러분이 모르고 지내기를 나는 바라지 않습니다

( Now about spiritual gifts, brothers, I do not want you to be ignorant.)

 

12:2 알다시피 여러분이 이방 사람일 때에는, 여러분은, 이리저리 끄는 대로, 말 못하는 우상에게로 끌려 다녔습니다

( You know that when you were pagans, somehow or other you were influenced and led astray to mute idols.)

 

12:3 그러므로 나는 여러분에게 알려드립니다 하나님의 영으로 말하는 사람은 아무도 "예수는 저주를 받아라" 하고 말할 수 없고, 또 성령을 힘입지 않고서는 아무도 "예수는 주님이시다" 하고 말할 수 없습니다

( Therefore I tell you that no one who is speaking by the Spirit of God says, "Jesus be cursed," and no one can say, "Jesus is Lord," except by the Holy Spirit.)

 

12:4 은사는 여러 가지지만, 그것을 주시는 분은 같은 성령이십니다

( There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit.)

 

12:5 섬기는 일은 여러 가지지만, 섬김을 받으시는 분은 같은 주님이십니다

( There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord.)

 

12:6 일의 성과는 여러 가지지만, 모든 사람에게서 모든 일을 하시는 분은 같은 하나님이십니다

( There are different kinds of working, but the same God works all of them in all men.)

 

12:7 각 사람에게 성령을 나타내 주시는 것은 공동 이익을 위한 것입니다

( Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good.)

 

12:8 어떤 사람에게는 성령을 통하여 지혜의 말씀을 주시고, 어떤 사람에게는 같은 성령을 따라 지식의 말씀을 주십니다

( To one there is given through the Spirit the message of wisdom, to another the message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit,)

 

12:9 어떤 사람에게는 같은 성령으로 믿음을 주시고, 어떤 사람에게는 같은 성령으로 병 고치는 은사를 주십니다

( to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit,)

 

12:10 어떤 사람에게는 기적을 행하는 능력을 주시고, 어떤 사람에게는 예언하는 은사를 주시고, 어떤 사람에게는 영을 분별하는 은사를 주십니다 어떤 사람에게는 여러 가지 방언을 말하는 은사를 주시고, 어떤 사람에게는 그 방언을 통역하는 은사를 주십니다

( to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues.)

 

12:11 이 모든 일은 한 분이신 같은 성령이 하시며, 그는 원하시는 대로 각 사람에게 은사를 나누어주십니다

( All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he gives them to each one, just as he determines.)

 

하나의 몸과 많은 지체들

 

12:12 몸은 하나이지만 많은 지체가 있고, 몸의 지체는 많지만 그들이 모두 한 몸이듯이, 그리스도도 그러하십니다

( The body is a unit, though it is made up of many parts; and though all its parts are many, they form one body. So it is with Christ.)

 

12:13 우리는 유대 사람이든지 그리스 사람이든지, 종이든지 자유인이든지, 모두 한 성령으로 세례를 받아서 한 몸이 되었고, 또 모두 한 성령을 마시게 되었습니다

( For we were all baptized by one Spirit into one body--whether Jews or Greeks, slave or free--and we were all given the one Spirit to drink.)

 

12:14 몸은 하나의 지체로 되어 있는 것이 아니라, 여러 지체로 되어 있습니다

( Now the body is not made up of one part but of many.)

 

12:15 발이 말하기를 "나는 손이 아니니까, 몸에 속한 것이 아니다" 한다고 해서 발이 몸에 속하지 않은 것이 아닙니다

( If the foot should say, "Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body," it would not for that reason cease to be part of the body.)

 

12:16 또 귀가 말하기를 "나는 눈이 아니니까, 몸에 속한 것이 아니다" 한다고 해서 귀가 몸에 속하지 않은 것이 아닙니다

( And if the ear should say, "Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body," it would not for that reason cease to be part of the body.)

 

12:17 온몸이 다 눈이라면, 어떻게 듣겠습니까? 또 온몸이 다 귀라면, 어떻게 냄새를 맡겠습니까?

( If the whole body were an eye, where would the sense of hearing be? If the whole body were an ear, where would the sense of smell be?)

 

12:18 그런데 실은 하나님께서는, 원하시는 대로, 우리 몸에다가 각각 다른 여러 지체를 두셨습니다

( But in fact God has arranged the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be.)

 

12:19 전체가 하나의 지체로 되어 있다고 하면, 몸은 어디에 있습니까?

( If they were all one part, where would the body be?)

 

12:20 그런데 실은 지체는 여럿이지만, 몸은 하나입니다

( As it is, there are many parts, but one body.)

 

12:21 그러므로 눈이 손에게 말하기를 "너는 내게 쓸 데가 없다" 할 수가 없고, 머리가 발에게 말하기를 "너는 내게 쓸 데가 없다" 할 수 없습니다

( The eye cannot say to the hand, "I don't need you!" And the head cannot say to the feet, "I don't need you!")

 

12:22 그뿐만 아니라, 몸의 지체 가운데서 비교적 더 약하게 보이는 지체들이 오히려 더 요긴합니다

( On the contrary, those parts of the body that seem to be weaker are indispensable,)

 

12:23 그리고 우리가 덜 명예스러운 것으로 여기는 지체들에게 더욱 풍성한 명예를 덧입히고, 볼품 없는 지체들을 더욱더 아름답게 꾸며 줍니다

( and the parts that we think are less honorable we treat with special honor. And the parts that are unpresentable are treated with special modesty,)

 

12:24 그러나 아름다운 지체들은 그럴 필요가 없습니다 하나님께서는 몸을 골고루 짜 맞추셔서 모자라는 지체에게 더 풍성한 명예를 주셨습니다

( while our presentable parts need no special treatment. But God has combined the members of the body and has given greater honor to the parts that lacked it,)

 

12:25 그래서 몸에 분열이 생기지 않게 하시고, 지체들이 서로 같이 걱정하게 하셨습니다

( so that there should be no division in the body, but that its parts should have equal concern for each other.)

 

12:26 한 지체가 고통을 당하면, 모든 지체가 함께 고통을 당합니다 한 지체가 영광을 받으면, 모든 지체가 함께 기뻐합니다

( If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it.)

 

12:27 여러분은 그리스도의 몸이요, 따로 따로는 지체들입니다

( Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.)

 

12:28 하나님께서 교회 안에 몇몇 일꾼을 세우셨습니다 그들은 첫째는 사도요, 둘째는 예언자요, 셋째는 교사요, 다음은 기적을 행하는 사람이요, 다음은 병 고치는 은사를 받은 사람이요, 남을 도와 주는 사람이요, 관리하는 사람이요, 여러 가지 방언으로 말하는 사람입니다

( And in the church God has appointed first of all apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then workers of miracles, also those having gifts of healing, those able to help others, those with gifts of administration, and those speaking in different kinds of tongues.)

 

12:29 그러니, 모두가 사도이겠습니까? 모두가 예언자이겠습니까? 모두가 교사이겠습니까? 모두가 기적을 행하는 사람이겠습니까?

( Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Do all work miracles?)

 

12:30 모두가 병 고치는 은사를 받은 사람이겠습니까? 모두가 방언으로 말하는 사람이겠습니까? 모두가 통역하는 사람이겠습니까?

( Do all have gifts of healing? Do all speak in tongues? Do all interpret?)

 

사랑

 

12:31 그러나 여러분은 더 큰 은사를 열심히 구하십시오 이제 내가 가장 좋은 길을 여러분에게 보여드리겠습니다

( But eagerly desire the greater gifts. And now I will show you the most excellent way.)

고린도전서 13장

 

13:1 내가 사람의 모든 말과 천사의 말을 할 수 있을지라도, 내게 사랑이 없으면, 울리는 징이나 요란한 꽹과리가 될 뿐입니다

( If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.)

 

13:2 내가 예언하는 능력을 가지고 있을지라도, 또 모든 비밀과 모든 지식을 가지고 있을지라도, 또 산을 옮길 만한 모든 믿음을 가지고 있을지라도, 사랑이 없으면, 아무것도 아닙니다

( If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.)

 

13:3 내가 내 모든 소유를 나누어줄지라도, 내가 자랑삼아 내 몸을 넘겨줄지라도, 사랑이 없으면, 내게는 아무런 이로움이 없습니다

( If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing.)

 

13:4 사랑은 오래 참고, 친절합니다 사랑은 시기하지 않으며, 뽐내지 않으며, 교만하지 않습니다

( Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.)

 

13:5 사랑은 무례하지 않으며, 자기의 이익을 구하지 않으며, 성을 내지 않으며, 원한을 품지 않습니다

( It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.)

 

13:6 사랑은 불의를 기뻐하지 않으며, 진리와 함께 기뻐합니다

( Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.)

 

13:7 사랑은 모든 것을 덮어 주며, 모든 것을 믿으며, 모든 것을 바라며, 모든 것을 견딥니다

( It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.)

 

13:8 사랑은 없어지지 않습니다 그러나 예언도 사라지고, 방언도 그치고, 지식도 사라집니다

( Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.)

 

13:9 우리는 부분적으로 알고, 부분적으로 예언합니다

( For we know in part and we prophesy in part,)

 

13:10 그러나 온전한 것이 올 때에는, 부분적인 것은 사라집니다

( but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears.)

 

13:11 내가 어릴 때에는, 말하는 것이 어린아이와 같고, 깨닫는 것이 어린아이와 같고, 생각하는 것이 어린아이와 같았습니다 그러나 어른이 되어서는, 어린아이의 일을 버렸습니다

( When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me.)

 

13:12 지금은 우리가 거울로 영상을 보듯이 희미하게 보지마는, 그 때에는 얼굴과 얼굴을 마주하여 볼 것입니다 지금은 내가 부분밖에 알지 못하지마는, 그 때에는 하나님께서 나를 아신 것과 같이, 내가 온전히 알게 될 것입니다

( Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.)

 

13:13 그러므로 믿음, 소망, 사랑, 이 세 가지는 항상 있을 것인데, 그 가운데서 으뜸은 사랑입니다

( And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.)

고린도전서 14장

 

14:1 사랑을 추구하십시오 신령한 은사를 열심히 구하십시오 특히 예언하기를 열망하십시오

( Follow the way of love and eagerly desire spiritual gifts, especially the gift of prophecy.)

 

14:2 방언으로 말하는 사람은 사람에게 말하는 것이 아니라, 하나님께 말하는 것입니다 아무도 그것을 알아듣지 못합니다 그는 성령으로 비밀을 말하는 것입니다

( For anyone who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God. Indeed, no one understands him; he utters mysteries with his spirit.)

 

14:3 그러나 예언하는 사람은 사람들에게 말하는 것입니다 그는 덕을 끼치고, 위로하고, 격려하는 말을 합니다

( But everyone who prophesies speaks to men for their strengthening, encouragement and comfort.)

 

14:4 방언으로 말하는 사람은 자기에게만 덕을 끼치고, 예언하는 사람은 교회에 덕을 끼칩니다

( He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself, but he who prophesies edifies the church.)

 

14:5 여러분이 모두 방언으로 말할 수 있기를 내가 바랍니다마는, 그보다도 예언할 수 있기를 더 바랍니다 방언을 누가 통역하여 교회에 덕을 끼치게 해주지 않으면, 방언으로 말하는 사람보다, 예언하는 사람이 더 훌륭합니다

( I would like every one of you to speak in tongues, but I would rather have you prophesy. He who prophesies is greater than one who speaks in tongues, unless he interprets, so that the church may be edified.)

 

14:6 형제자매 여러분, 내가 여러분에게로 가서 방언으로 말하고, 계시나 지식이나 예언이나 가르침을 전하는 방식으로 말하지 않는다면, 여러분에게 무슨 유익이 되겠습니까?

( Now, brothers, if I come to you and speak in tongues, what good will I be to you, unless I bring you some revelation or knowledge or prophecy or word of instruction?)

 

14:7 피리나 거문고와 같이 생명이 없는 악기도, 각각 음색이 다른 소리를 내지 않으면, 피리를 부는 것인지, 수금을 타는 것인지, 어떻게 알 수 있겠습니까?

( Even in the case of lifeless things that make sounds, such as the flute or harp, how will anyone know what tune is being played unless there is a distinction in the notes?)

 

14:8 또 나팔이 분명하지 않은 소리를 내면, 누가 전투를 준비하겠습니까?

( Again, if the trumpet does not sound a clear call, who will get ready for battle?)

 

14:9 이와 같이 여러분도 방언을 사용하기 때문에 분명한 말을 하지 않는다면, 그 말이 무슨 뜻인지 남이 어떻게 알겠습니까? 결국 여러분은 허공에다 대고 말하는 셈이 될 것입니다

( So it is with you. Unless you speak intelligible words with your tongue, how will anyone know what you are saying? You will just be speaking into the air.)

 

14:10 이 세상에는 수많은 종류의 말이 있습니다 그러나 뜻이 없는 말은 하나도 없습니다

( Undoubtedly there are all sorts of languages in the world, yet none of them is without meaning.)

 

14:11 내가 그 말의 뜻을 알지 못하면, 나는 그 말을 하는 사람에게 딴 세상 사람이 되고, 그도 나에게 딴 세상 사람이 될 것입니다

( If then I do not grasp the meaning of what someone is saying, I am a foreigner to the speaker, and he is a foreigner to me.)

 

14:12 이와 같이 여러분도 성령의 은사를 갈구하는 사람들이니, 교회에 덕을 끼치도록, 그 은사를 더욱 넘치게 받기를 힘쓰십시오

( So it is with you. Since you are eager to have spiritual gifts, try to excel in gifts that build up the church.)

 

14:13 그러므로 방언으로 말하는 사람은 그것을 통역할 수 있기를 기도하십시오

( For this reason anyone who speaks in a tongue should pray that he may interpret what he says.)

 

14:14 내가 방언으로 기도하면 내 영은 기도하지만, 내 마음은 아무런 열매를 얻지 못합니다

( For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my mind is unfruitful.)

 

14:15 그렇다면 어떻게 해야 하겠습니까? 나는 영으로 기도하고, 또 깨친 마음으로도 기도하겠습니다 나는 영으로 찬미하고, 또 깨친 마음으로도 찬미하겠습니다

( So what shall I do? I will pray with my spirit, but I will also pray with my mind; I will sing with my spirit, but I will also sing with my mind.)

 

14:16 그렇지 않고, 그대가 영으로만 감사를 드리면, 갓 믿기 시작한 사람은, 그것이 무슨 뜻인지를 알아듣지 못하므로, 어떻게 그 감사 기도에 "아멘" 하고 말할 수 있겠습니까?

( If you are praising God with your spirit, how can one who finds himself among those who do not understand say "Amen" to your thanksgiving, since he does not know what you are saying?)

 

14:17 그대가 훌륭하게 감사 기도를 드린다고 해도, 다른 사람에게는 덕이 되지 않습니다

( You may be giving thanks well enough, but the other man is not edified.)

 

14:18 나는 여러분 가운데 누구보다도 더 많이 방언을 말할 수 있음을 하나님께 감사합니다

( I thank God that I speak in tongues more than all of you.)

 

14:19 그러나 나는, 방언으로 만 마디 말을 하기보다도, 다른 사람을 가르치기 위하여 나의 깨친 마음으로 교회에서 다섯 마디 말을 하기를 원합니다

( But in the church I would rather speak five intelligible words to instruct others than ten thousand words in a tongue.)

 

14:20 형제자매 여러분, 생각하는 데는 아이가 되지 마십시오 악에는 아이가 되고, 생각하는 데는 어른이 되십시오

( Brothers, stop thinking like children. In regard to evil be infants, but in your thinking be adults.)

 

14:21 율법에 이렇게 기록되어 있습니다 주님께서 말씀하시기를 "내가 방언을 하는 사람의 혀와 딴 나라 사람의 입술로 이 백성에게 말할지라도, 그들은 나의 말을 듣지 않을 것이다" 하셨습니다

( In the Law it is written: "Through men of strange tongues and through the lips of foreigners I will speak to this people, but even then they will not listen to me," says the Lord.)

 

14:22 그러므로 방언은 신자들에게 주는 표징이 아니라 불신자들에게 주는 표징이고, 예언은 불신자들에게 주는 것이 아니라 신자들에게 주는 것입니다

( Tongues, then, are a sign, not for believers but for unbelievers; prophecy, however, is for believers, not for unbelievers.)

 

14:23 온 교회가 한 자리에 모여서 모두가 방언으로 말하고 있으면, 갓 믿기 시작한 사람이나 믿지 않는 사람이 들어와서 듣고, 여러분을 미쳤다고 하지 않겠습니까?

( So if the whole church comes together and everyone speaks in tongues, and some who do not understand or some unbelievers come in, will they not say that you are out of your mind?)

 

14:24 그러나 모두가 예언을 말하고 있으면, 갓 믿기 시작한 사람이나 믿지 않는 사람이 들어와서 듣고, 그 모두에게 질책을 받고 심판을 받아서,

( But if an unbeliever or someone who does not understand comes in while everybody is prophesying, he will be convinced by all that he is a sinner and will be judged by all,)

 

14:25 그 마음 속에 숨은 일이 드러나게 됩니다 그래서 그는 엎드려서 하나님께 경배하면서 "참으로 하나님께서 여러분 가운데 계십니다" 하고 환히 말할 것입니다

( and the secrets of his heart will be laid bare. So he will fall down and worship God, exclaiming, "God is really among you!")

 

모든 것을 질서 있게 행하라

 

14:26 그러면 형제자매 여러분, 어떻게 해야 하겠습니까? 여러분이 함께 모이는 자리에는, 찬송하는 사람도 있고, 가르치는 사람도 있고, 하나님의 계시를 말하는 사람도 있고, 방언으로 말하는 사람도 있고, 통역하는 사람도 있습니다 모든 일을 남에게 덕이 되게 하십시오

( What then shall we say, brothers? When you come together, everyone has a hymn, or a word of instruction, a revelation, a tongue or an interpretation. All of these must be done for the strengthening of the church.)

 

14:27 누가 방언으로 말할 때에는, 둘 또는 많아야 셋이서 말하되, 차례로 말하고, 한 사람은 통역을 하십시오

( If anyone speaks in a tongue, two--or at the most three--should speak, one at a time, and someone must interpret.)

 

14:28 통역할 사람이 없거든, 교회에서는 침묵하고, 자기에게와 하나님께 말하십시오

( If there is no interpreter, the speaker should keep quiet in the church and speak to himself and God.)

 

14:29 예언하는 사람은 둘이나 셋이서 말하고, 다른 이들은 그것을 분별하십시오

( Two or three prophets should speak, and the others should weigh carefully what is said.)

 

14:30 그러나 앉아 있는 다른 사람에게 계시가 내리거든, 먼저 말하던 사람은 잠잠하십시오

( And if a revelation comes to someone who is sitting down, the first speaker should stop.)

 

14:31 여러분은 모두 한 사람씩 한 사람씩 예언을 할 수 있습니다 그래야 모두가 배우고, 권면을 받게 됩니다

( For you can all prophesy in turn so that everyone may be instructed and encouraged.)

 

14:32 예언하는 사람의 영은 예언하는 사람에게 통제를 받습니다

( The spirits of prophets are subject to the control of prophets.)

 

14:33 하나님은 무질서의 하나님이 아니라, 평화의 하나님이십니다 성도들의 모든 교회에서 그렇게 하는 것과 같이,

( For God is not a God of disorder but of peace. As in all the congregations of the saints,)

 

14:34 여자들은 교회에서는 잠자코 있어야 합니다 여자에게는 말하는 것이 허락되어 있지 않습니다 율법에서도 말한 대로 여자들은 복종해야 합니다

( women should remain silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak, but must be in submission, as the Law says.)

 

14:35 배우고 싶은 것이 있으면, 집에서 자기 남편에게 물으십시오 여자가 교회에서 말하는 것은, 자기에게 부끄러운 일입니다

( If they want to inquire about something, they should ask their own husbands at home; for it is disgraceful for a woman to speak in the church.)

 

14:36 하나님의 말씀이 여러분에게서 났습니까? 또는 여러분에게만 내렸습니까?

( Did the word of God originate with you? Or are you the only people it has reached?)

 

14:37 누구든지 자기가 예언자이거나 성령을 은사로 받은 사람이라 생각하거든, 내가 여러분에게 써 보내는 이 글이 주님의 명령이라는 것을 알아야 합니다

( If anybody thinks he is a prophet or spiritually gifted, let him acknowledge that what I am writing to you is the Lord's command.)

 

14:38 누구든지 이것을 인정하지 않으면, 그 사람도 인정을 받지 못할 것입니다

( If he ignores this, he himself will be ignored.)

 

14:39 그러므로 나의 형제자매 여러분, 예언하기를 열심히 구하십시오 그리고 방언으로 말하는 것을 막지 마십시오

( Therefore, my brothers, be eager to prophesy, and do not forbid speaking in tongues.)

 

14:40 모든 일을 적절하게 하고 질서 있게 해야 합니다

( But everything should be done in a fitting and orderly way.)
