고린도전서 1장

 

인사와 감사

 

1:1 하나님의 뜻으로 그리스도 예수의 사도로 부르심을 받은 나 바울과, 형제 소스데네가,

( Paul, called to be an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, and our brother Sosthenes,)

 

1:2 고린도에 있는 하나님의 교회에 이 편지를 씁니다 그리스도 예수 안에서 거룩하여지고 성도로 부르심을 받은 여러분에게 문안드립니다 또 각처에서 우리 주 예수 그리스도의 이름을 부르는 모든 이들에게도 아울러 문안드립니다 예수 그리스도는 이 사람들의 주님이시며 우리의 주님이십니다

( To the church of God in Corinth, to those sanctified in Christ Jesus and called to be holy, together with all those everywhere who call on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ--their Lord and ours:)

 

1:3 하나님 우리 아버지와 주 예수 그리스도께서 내려주시는 은혜와 평화가 여러분에게 있기를 빕니다

( Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.)

 

1:4 나는 여러분이 그리스도 예수 안에서 받은 하나님의 은혜를 생각하고, 여러분의 일로 언제나 하나님께 감사를 드립니다

( I always thank God for you because of his grace given you in Christ Jesus.)

 

1:5 여러분은 그리스도 안에서 모든 면에 풍족하게 되었습니다 곧 온갖 언변과 온갖 지식이 늘었습니다

( For in him you have been enriched in every way--in all your speaking and in all your knowledge--)

 

1:6 그리스도에 관한 증언이 여러분 가운데서 이렇게도 튼튼하게 자리잡았습니다

( because our testimony about Christ was confirmed in you.)

 

1:7 그리하여 여러분은 어떠한 은사에도 부족한 것이 없으며 우리 주 예수 그리스도의 나타나심을 기다리고 있습니다

( Therefore you do not lack any spiritual gift as you eagerly wait for our Lord Jesus Christ to be revealed.)

 

1:8 우리 주 예수 [그리스도]께서 나타나실 날에 여러분이 흠잡을 데 없는 사람으로 설 수 있도록, 주님께서 여러분을 끝까지 튼튼히 세워주실 것입니다

( He will keep you strong to the end, so that you will be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.)

 

1:9 하나님은 신실하신 분이십니다 하나님께서는 여러분을 부르셔서 그 아들 우리 주 예수 그리스도와 친교를 가지게 하여 주셨습니다

( God, who has called you into fellowship with his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, is faithful.)

 

고린도 교회의 분열상

 

1:10 그런데, 형제자매 여러분, 나는 우리 주 예수 그리스도의 이름으로 여러분에게 권면합니다 여러분은 모두 같은 말을 하며, 여러분 가운데 분열이 없도록 하며, 같은 마음과 같은 생각으로 뭉치십시오

( I appeal to you, brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another so that there may be no divisions among you and that you may be perfectly united in mind and thought.)

 

1:11 나의 형제자매 여러분, 글로에의 집 사람들이 여러분의 소식을 전해 주어서 나는 여러분 가운데에 분쟁이 있다는 것을 알게 되었습니다

( My brothers, some from Chloe's household have informed me that there are quarrels among you.)

 

1:12 다름이 아니라, 여러분은 저마다 말하기를 "나는 바울 편이다", "나는 아볼로 편이다", "나는 게바 편이다", "나는 그리스도 편이다" 한다고 합니다

( What I mean is this: One of you says, "I follow Paul"; another, "I follow Apollos"; another, "I follow Cephas"; still another, "I follow Christ.")

 

1:13 그리스도께서 갈라지셨습니까? 바울이 여러분을 위하여 십자가에 달리기라도 했습니까? 또는, 여러분이 바울의 이름으로 세례를 받았습니까?

( Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Were you baptized into the name of Paul?)

 

1:14 내가 여러분 가운데에서 그리스보와 가이오 밖에는, 아무에게도 세례를 준 일이 없음을 [하나님께] 감사드립니다

( I am thankful that I did not baptize any of you except Crispus and Gaius,)

 

1:15 그러므로, 아무도 나의 이름으로 세례를 받았다고 말하지 못할 것입니다

( so no one can say that you were baptized into my name.)

 

1:16 내가 스데바나 가족에게도 세례를 주었습니다마는, 그 밖에는 다른 누구에게 세례를 주었는지 나는 모릅니다

( (Yes, I also baptized the household of Stephanas; beyond that, I don't remember if I baptized anyone else.))

 

1:17 그리스도께서는 세례를 주라고 나를 보내신 것이 아니라, 복음을 전하라고 보내셨습니다 복음을 전하되, 말의 지혜로 하지 않게 하셨습니다 그것은 그리스도의 십자가가 헛되이 되지 않게 하시려는 것입니다

( For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel--not with words of human wisdom, lest the cross of Christ be emptied of its power.)

 

하나님의 능력과 지혜이신 그리스도

 

1:18 십자가의 말씀이 멸망할 자들에게는 어리석은 것이지만, 구원을 받는 사람인 우리에게는 하나님의 능력입니다

( For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.)

 

1:19 성경에 기록하기를 "내가 지혜로운 자들의 지혜를 멸하고, 총명한 자들의 총명을 폐할 것이다" 하였습니다

( For it is written: "I will destroy the wisdom of the wise; the intelligence of the intelligent I will frustrate.")

 

1:20 현자가 어디에 있습니까? 학자가 어디에 있습니까? 이 세상의 변론가가 어디에 있습니까? 하나님께서는 이 세상의 지혜를 어리석게 하신 것이 아닙니까?

( Where is the wise man? Where is the scholar? Where is the philosopher of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world?)

 

1:21 이 세상은 그 지혜로 하나님을 알지 못하였습니다 하나님의 지혜가 그렇게 되도록 한 것입니다 하나님께서는 어리석게 들리는 설교를 통하여 믿는 사람들을 구원하시기를 기뻐하신 것입니다

( For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not know him, God was pleased through the foolishness of what was preached to save those who believe.)

 

1:22 유대 사람은 기적을 요구하고, 그리스 사람은 지혜를 찾으나,

( Jews demand miraculous signs and Greeks look for wisdom,)

 

1:23 우리는 십자가에 달리신 그리스도를 전합니다 그리스도가 십자가에 달리셨다는 것은 유대 사람에게는 거리낌이고, 이방 사람에게는 어리석은 일입니다

( but we preach Christ crucified: a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles,)

 

1:24 그러나 부르심을 받은 사람에게는, 유대 사람에게나 그리스 사람에게나, 이 그리스도는 하나님의 능력이요, 하나님의 지혜입니다

( but to those whom God has called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.)

 

1:25 하나님의 어리석음이 사람의 지혜보다 더 지혜롭고, 하나님의 약함이 사람의 강함보다 더 강합니다

( For the foolishness of God is wiser than man's wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than man's strength.)

 

1:26 형제자매 여러분, 여러분이 부르심을 받을 때에, 그 처지가 어떠하였는지 생각하여 보십시오 육신의 기준으로 보아서, 지혜 있는 사람이 많지 않고, 권력 있는 사람이 많지 않고, 가문이 훌륭한 사람이 많지 않았습니다

( Brothers, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth.)

 

1:27 그런데 하나님께서는, 지혜 있는 자들을 부끄럽게 하시려고 세상의 어리석은 것들을 택하셨으며, 강한 것들을 부끄럽게 하시려고 세상의 약한 것들을 택하셨습니다

( But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong.)

 

1:28 하나님께서는 세상에서 비천한 것들과 멸시받는 것들을 택하셨으니 곧 잘났다고 하는 것들을 없애시려고 아무것도 아닌 것들을 택하셨습니다

( He chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things--and the things that are not--to nullify the things that are,)

 

1:29 이리하여 아무도 하나님 앞에서는 자랑하지 못하게 하시려는 것입니다

( so that no one may boast before him.)

 

1:30 그러나 여러분은 하나님의 자녀로서 그리스도 예수 안에 있습니다 그는 우리에게 하나님으로부터 오는 지혜가 되시며, 의와 거룩함과 구원이 되셨습니다

( It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God--that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption.)

 

1:31 그것은, 성경에 기록되어 있는 바 "누구든지 자랑하려거든 주님을 자랑하라" 한 대로 되게 하시려는 것입니다

( Therefore, as it is written: "Let him who boasts boast in the Lord.")

고린도전서 2장

 

십자가에 달리신 그리스도

 

2:1 형제자매 여러분, 내가 여러분에게로 가서 하나님의 비밀을 전할 때에, 훌륭한 말이나 지혜로 하지 않았습니다

( When I came to you, brothers, I did not come with eloquence or superior wisdom as I proclaimed to you the testimony about God.)

 

2:2 나는 여러분 가운데서 예수 그리스도 곧 십자가에 달리신 그분 밖에는, 아무것도 알지 않기로 작정하였습니다

( For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified.)

 

2:3 내가 여러분과 함께 있을 때에, 나는 약하였으며, 두려워하였으며, 무척 떨었습니다

( I came to you in weakness and fear, and with much trembling.)

 

2:4 나의 말과 나의 설교는 지혜에서 나온 그럴 듯한 말로 한 것이 아니라, 성령의 능력이 나타낸 증거로 한 것입니다

( My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit's power,)

 

2:5 그것은, 여러분의 믿음이 사람의 지혜에 바탕을 두지 않고 하나님의 능력에 바탕을 두게 하려는 것이었습니다

( so that your faith might not rest on men's wisdom, but on God's power.)

 

성령으로 계시하다

 

2:6 그러나 우리는 성숙한 사람들 가운데서는 지혜를 말합니다 그런데 이 지혜는, 이 세상의 지혜나 멸망하여 버릴 자들인 이 세상 통치자들의 지혜가 아닙니다

( We do, however, speak a message of wisdom among the mature, but not the wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing.)

 

2:7 우리는 비밀로 감추어져 있는 하나님의 지혜를 말합니다 그것은, 하나님께서 우리를 영광스럽게 하시려고, 영세 전에 미리 정하신 지혜입니다

( No, we speak of God's secret wisdom, a wisdom that has been hidden and that God destined for our glory before time began.)

 

2:8 이 세상 통치자들 가운데는, 이 지혜를 아는 사람이 하나도 없습니다 그들이 알았더라면, 영광의 주님을 십자가에 못 박지 않았을 것입니다

( None of the rulers of this age understood it, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.)

 

2:9 그러나 성경에 기록한 바 "눈으로 보지 못하고 귀로 듣지 못한 것들, 사람의 마음에 떠오르지 않은 것들을, 하나님께서는 자기를 사랑하는 사람들에게 마련해 주셨다" 한 것과 같습니다

( However, as it is written: "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him"--)

 

2:10 하나님께서는 성령을 통하여 이런 일들을 우리에게 계시해 주셨습니다 성령은 모든 것을 살피시니, 곧 하나님의 깊은 경륜까지도 살피십니다

( but God has revealed it to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God.)

 

2:11 사람 속에 있는 그 사람의 영이 아니고서야, 누가 그 사람의 생각을 알 수 있겠습니까? 이와 같이, 하나님의 영이 아니고서는, 아무도 하나님의 생각을 깨닫지 못합니다

( For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the man's spirit within him? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.)

 

2:12 우리는 세상의 영을 받은 것이 아니라, 하나님에게서 오신 영을 받았습니다 그것은, 하나님께서 우리에게 은혜로 주신 선물들을 우리로 하여금 깨달아 알게 하시려는 것입니다

( We have not received the spirit of the world but the Spirit who is from God, that we may understand what God has freely given us.)

 

2:13 우리가 이 선물들을 말하되, 사람의 지혜에서 배운 말로 하지 아니하고, 성령께서 가르쳐 주시는 말로 합니다 다시 말하면, 신령한 것을 가지고 신령한 것을 설명하는 것입니다

( This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, expressing spiritual truths in spiritual words.)

 

2:14 그러나 자연에 속한 사람은 하나님의 영에 속한 일들을 받아들이지 아니합니다 그런 사람에게는 이런 일들이 어리석은 일이며, 그는 이런 일들을 이해할 수 없습니다 이런 일들은 영적으로만 분별되기 때문입니다

( The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned.)

 

2:15 신령한 사람은 모든 것을 판단하나, 자기는 아무에게서도 판단을 받지 않습니다

( The spiritual man makes judgments about all things, but he himself is not subject to any man's judgment:)

 

2:16 "누가 주님의 마음을 알았습니까? 누가 그분을 가르치겠습니까?" 그러나 우리는 그리스도의 마음을 가지고 있습니다

( "For who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct him?" But we have the mind of Christ.)

고린도전서 3장

 

하나님의 동역자

 

3:1 형제자매 여러분, 나는 여러분에게 영에 속한 사람에게 하듯이 말할 수 없고, 육에 속한 사람, 곧 그리스도 안에서 어린 아이 같은 사람에게 말하듯이 하였습니다

( Brothers, I could not address you as spiritual but as worldly--mere infants in Christ.)

 

3:2 나는 여러분에게 젖을 먹였을 뿐, 단단한 음식을 먹이지 않았습니다 그 때에는 여러분이 단단한 음식을 감당할 수 없었습니다 사실 지금도 여러분은 그것을 감당할 수 없습니다

( I gave you milk, not solid food, for you were not yet ready for it. Indeed, you are still not ready.)

 

3:3 여러분은 아직도 육에 속한 사람들입니다 여러분 가운데에서 시기와 싸움이 있으니, 여러분은 육에 속한 사람이고, 인간의 방식대로 살고 있는 것이 아닙니까?

( You are still worldly. For since there is jealousy and quarreling among you, are you not worldly? Are you not acting like mere men?)

 

3:4 어떤 사람은 "나는 바울 편이다" 하고, 또 다른 사람은 "나는 아볼로 편이다" 한다니, 여러분은 육에 속한 사람이 아니고 무엇이겠습니까?

( For when one says, "I follow Paul," and another, "I follow Apollos," are you not mere men?)

 

3:5 그렇다면 아볼로는 무엇이고, 바울은 무엇입니까? 아볼로와 나는 여러분을 믿게 한 일꾼들이며, 주님께서 우리에게 각각 맡겨 주신 대로 일하였을 뿐입니다

( What, after all, is Apollos? And what is Paul? Only servants, through whom you came to believe--as the Lord has assigned to each his task.)

 

3:6 나는 심고, 아볼로는 물을 주었습니다 그러나 하나님께서 자라게 하셨습니다

( I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God made it grow.)

 

3:7 그러므로 심는 사람이나 물 주는 사람은 아무것도 아니요, 자라게 하시는 분은 하나님이십니다

( So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow.)

 

3:8 심는 사람과 물 주는 사람은 하나이며, 그들은 각각 수고한 만큼 자기의 삯을 받을 것입니다

( The man who plants and the man who waters have one purpose, and each will be rewarded according to his own labor.)

 

3:9 우리는 하나님의 동역자요, 여러분은 하나님의 밭이며, 하나님의 건물입니다

( For we are God's fellow workers; you are God's field, God's building.)

 

3:10 나는 하나님께서 나에게 주신 은혜를 따라, 지혜로운 건축가와 같이 기초를 놓았습니다 그런데 다른 사람이 그 위에다가 집을 짓습니다 그러나 어떻게 집을 지을지 각각 신중히 생각해야 합니다

( By the grace God has given me, I laid a foundation as an expert builder, and someone else is building on it. But each one should be careful how he builds.)

 

3:11 아무도 이미 놓은 기초이신 예수 그리스도 밖에 또 다른 기초를 놓을 수 없습니다

( For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ.)

 

3:12 누가 이 기초 위에 금이나 은이나 보석이나 나무나 풀이나 짚으로 집을 지으면,

( If any man builds on this foundation using gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay or straw,)

 

3:13 그에 따라 각 사람의 업적이 드러날 것입니다 그 날이 그것을 환히 보여 줄 것입니다 그것은 불에 드러날 것이기 때문입니다 불이 각 사람의 업적이 어떤 것인가를 검증하여 줄 것입니다

( his work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each man's work.)

 

3:14 어떤 사람이 만든 작품이 그대로 남으면, 그는 상을 받을 것이요,

( If what he has built survives, he will receive his reward.)

 

3:15 어떤 사람의 작품이 타 버리면, 그는 손해를 볼 것입니다 그러나 그 사람은 구원을 받을 것이지만 불 속을 헤치고 나오듯 할 것입니다

( If it is burned up, he will suffer loss; he himself will be saved, but only as one escaping through the flames.)

 

3:16 여러분은 하나님의 성전이며, 하나님의 성령이 여러분 안에 거하신다는 것을 알지 못합니까?

( Don't you know that you yourselves are God's temple and that God's Spirit lives in you?)

 

3:17 누구든지 하나님의 성전을 파괴하면, 하나님께서도 그 사람을 멸하실 것입니다 하나님의 성전은 거룩합니다 여러분은 하나님의 성전입니다

( If anyone destroys God's temple, God will destroy him; for God's temple is sacred, and you are that temple.)

 

3:18 아무도 자기를 속이지 말아야 합니다 여러분 가운데서 누구든지 이 세상에서 지혜 있는 사람이라고 스스로 생각하거든, 정말로 지혜 있는 사람이 되기 위하여 어리석은 사람이 되어야 합니다

( Do not deceive yourselves. If any one of you thinks he is wise by the standards of this age, he should become a "fool" so that he may become wise.)

 

3:19 이 세상의 지혜는 하나님이 보시기에 어리석은 것입니다 성경에 기록하기를 "하나님께서는 지혜로운 자들을 자기 꾀에 빠지게 하신다" 하였습니다

( For the wisdom of this world is foolishness in God's sight. As it is written: "He catches the wise in their craftiness";)

 

3:20 또 기록하기를 "주님께서 지혜로운 자들의 생각을 헛된 것으로 아신다" 하였습니다

( and again, "The Lord knows that the thoughts of the wise are futile.")

 

3:21 그러므로 아무도 사람을 자랑하지 말아야 합니다 모든 것이 다 여러분의 것입니다

( So then, no more boasting about men! All things are yours,)

 

3:22 바울이나, 아볼로나, 게바나, 세상이나, 삶이나, 죽음이나, 현재 것이나, 장래 것이나, 모든 것이 다 여러분의 것입니다

( whether Paul or Apollos or Cephas or the world or life or death or the present or the future--all are yours,)

 

3:23 그리고 여러분은 그리스도의 것이요, 그리스도는 하나님의 것입니다

( and you are of Christ, and Christ is of God.)

고린도전서 4장

 

사도의 직분

 

4:1 사람은 이와 같이 우리를, 그리스도의 일꾼이요 하나님의 비밀을 맡은 관리인으로 보아야 합니다

( So then, men ought to regard us as servants of Christ and as those entrusted with the secret things of God.)

 

4:2 이런 경우에 관리인에게 요구하는 것은 신실성입니다

( Now it is required that those who have been given a trust must prove faithful.)

 

4:3 내가 여러분에게서 심판을 받든지, 세상 법정에서 심판을 받든지, 나에게는 조금도 문제가 되지 않습니다 그뿐만 아니라, 나도 나 자신을 심판하지 않습니다

( I care very little if I am judged by you or by any human court; indeed, I do not even judge myself.)

 

4:4 나는 양심에 거리끼는 것이 없습니다 그러나 이런 일로 내가 의롭게 된 것은 아닙니다 나를 심판하시는 분은 주님이십니다

( My conscience is clear, but that does not make me innocent. It is the Lord who judges me.)

 

4:5 그러므로 여러분은 주님께서 오실 때까지는, 아무것도 미리 심판하지 마십시오 주님께서는 어둠 속에 감추인 것들을 환히 나타내시며, 마음 속의 생각을 드러내실 것입니다 그 때에 사람마다 하나님으로부터 칭찬을 받을 것입니다

( Therefore judge nothing before the appointed time; wait till the Lord comes. He will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and will expose the motives of men's hearts. At that time each will receive his praise from God.)

 

4:6 형제자매 여러분, 나는 여러분을 위하여 이 모든 일을 나와 아볼로에게 적용하여 설명하였습니다 그것은 "기록된 말씀의 범위를 벗어나지 말라"는 격언의 뜻을 여러분이 우리에게서 배워서, 어느 한 편을 편들어 다른 편을 얕보면서 뽐내지 않도록 하려는 것입니다

( Now, brothers, I have applied these things to myself and Apollos for your benefit, so that you may learn from us the meaning of the saying, "Do not go beyond what is written." Then you will not take pride in one man over against another.)

 

4:7 누가 그대를 별다르게 보아줍니까? 그대가 가지고 있는 것 가운데서 받아서 가지지 않은 것이 무엇이 있습니까? 모두가 받은 것이라면, 왜 받지 않은 것처럼 자랑합니까?

( For who makes you different from anyone else? What do you have that you did not receive? And if you did receive it, why do you boast as though you did not?)

 

4:8 여러분은 벌써 배가 불렀습니다 벌써 부자가 되었습니다 우리를 제쳐놓고 왕이나 된 듯이 행세하였습니다 여러분이 진정 왕처럼 되었으면, 좋겠습니다 그렇게 하여 우리도 여러분과 함께 왕노릇 하게 되면, 좋겠습니다

( Already you have all you want! Already you have become rich! You have become kings--and that without us! How I wish that you really had become kings so that we might be kings with you!)

 

4:9 내가 생각하기에, 하나님께서는 사도들인 우리를 마치 사형수처럼 세상에서 가장 보잘것없는 사람들로 내놓으셨습니다 우리는 세계와 천사들과 사람들에게 구경거리가 된 것입니다

( For it seems to me that God has put us apostles on display at the end of the procession, like men condemned to die in the arena. We have been made a spectacle to the whole universe, to angels as well as to men.)

 

4:10 우리는 그리스도 때문에 어리석은 사람이 되었지만, 여러분은 그리스도 안에서 지혜 있는 사람이 되었습니다 우리는 약하나, 여러분은 강합니다 여러분은 영광을 누리고 있으나, 우리는 천대를 받고 있습니다

( We are fools for Christ, but you are so wise in Christ! We are weak, but you are strong! You are honored, we are dishonored!)

 

4:11 우리는 바로 이 시각까지도 주리고, 목마르고, 헐벗고, 얻어맞고, 정처 없이 떠돌아다닙니다

( To this very hour we go hungry and thirsty, we are in rags, we are brutally treated, we are homeless.)

 

4:12 우리는 우리 손으로 일을 하면서, 고된 노동을 합니다 우리는 욕을 먹으면 도리어 축복하여 주고, 박해를 받으면 참고,

( We work hard with our own hands. When we are cursed, we bless; when we are persecuted, we endure it;)

 

4:13 비방을 받으면 좋은 말로 응답합니다 우리는 이 세상의 쓰레기처럼 되고, 이제까지 만물의 찌꺼기처럼 되었습니다

( when we are slandered, we answer kindly. Up to this moment we have become the scum of the earth, the refuse of the world.)

 

4:14 내가 이런 말을 쓰는 것은 여러분을 부끄럽게 하려는 것이 아니라, 나의 사랑하는 자녀들같이 훈계하려는 것입니다

( I am not writing this to shame you, but to warn you, as my dear children.)

 

4:15 그리스도 안에서 여러분에게는 일만 명의 스승이 있을지 몰라도, 아버지는 여럿이 있을 수 없습니다 그리스도 예수 안에서 복음으로 내가 여러분을 낳았습니다

( Even though you have ten thousand guardians in Christ, you do not have many fathers, for in Christ Jesus I became your father through the gospel.)

 

4:16 그러므로 나는 여러분에게 권합니다 여러분은 나를 본받는 사람이 되십시오

( Therefore I urge you to imitate me.)

 

4:17 이 일 때문에 나는 디모데를 여러분에게 보냈습니다 그는 주님 안에서 얻은 나의 사랑하는 신실한 아들입니다 그는 그리스도 [예수] 안에서 행하는 나의 생활 방식을 여러분에게 되새겨 줄 것입니다 어디에서나, 모든 교회에서 내가 가르치는 그대로 말입니다

( For this reason I am sending to you Timothy, my son whom I love, who is faithful in the Lord. He will remind you of my way of life in Christ Jesus, which agrees with what I teach everywhere in every church.)

 

4:18 그런데 여러분 가운데는, 내가 여러분에게로 가지 못하리라고 생각하여 교만해진 사람이 더러 있습니다

( Some of you have become arrogant, as if I were not coming to you.)

 

4:19 주님께서 허락하시면, 내가 속히 여러분에게로 가서, 그 교만해진 사람들의 말이 아니라 능력을 알아보겠습니다

( But I will come to you very soon, if the Lord is willing, and then I will find out not only how these arrogant people are talking, but what power they have.)

 

4:20 하나님 나라는 말에 있지 아니하고, 능력에 있습니다

( For the kingdom of God is not a matter of talk but of power.)

 

4:21 여러분은 무엇을 원합니까? 내가 채찍을 들고 여러분에게로 가는 것이 좋겠습니까? 그렇지 않으면, 사랑과 온유한 마음을 가지고 가는 것이 좋겠습니까?

( What do you prefer? Shall I come to you with a whip, or in love and with a gentle spirit?)

고린도전서 5장

 

음행을 심판하다

 

5:1 여러분 가운데 음행이 있다는 소문이 들립니다 자기 아버지의 아내를 데리고 사는 일까지 있다고 하니, 그러한 음행은 이방 사람들 가운데서도 볼 수 없는 것입니다

( It is actually reported that there is sexual immorality among you, and of a kind that does not occur even among pagans: A man has his father's wife.)

 

5:2 그런데도 여러분은 교만해져 있습니다 오히려 여러분은 그러한 현상을 통탄하고, 그러한 일을 저지른 자를 여러분 가운데서 제거했어야 하지 않았겠습니까?

( And you are proud! Shouldn't you rather have been filled with grief and have put out of your fellowship the man who did this?)

 

5:3 나로 말하면, 비록 몸으로는 떠나 있으나, 영으로는 함께 있습니다 마치 여러분과 함께 있듯이, 그러한 일을 저지른 자를 이미 심판하였습니다

( Even though I am not physically present, I am with you in spirit. And I have already passed judgment on the one who did this, just as if I were present.)

 

5:4 [우리] 주 예수의 이름으로 여러분이 모여 있을 때에, 나의 영이 우리 주 예수의 권능과 더불어 여러분과 함께 있으니,

( When you are assembled in the name of our Lord Jesus and I am with you in spirit, and the power of our Lord Jesus is present,)

 

5:5 여러분은 그러한 자를 당장 사탄에게 넘겨주어서, 그 육체는 망하게 하고 그의 영은 주님의 날에 구원을 얻게 해야 할 것입니다

( hand this man over to Satan, so that the sinful nature may be destroyed and his spirit saved on the day of the Lord.)

 

5:6 여러분이 자랑하는 것은 좋지 않습니다 여러분은 적은 누룩이 온 반죽을 부풀게 한다는 것을 알지 못합니까?

( Your boasting is not good. Don't you know that a little yeast works through the whole batch of dough?)

 

5:7 여러분은 새 반죽이 되기 위해서, 묵은 누룩을 깨끗이 치우십시오 사실 여러분은 누룩이 들지 않은 사람들입니다 우리들의 유월절 양이신 그리스도께서 희생되셨습니다

( Get rid of the old yeast that you may be a new batch without yeast--as you really are. For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed.)

 

5:8 그러므로 묵은 누룩, 곧 악의와 악독이라는 누룩을 넣은 빵으로 절기를 지키지 말고, 성실과 진실을 누룩으로 삼아 누룩 없이 빚은 빵으로 지킵시다

( Therefore let us keep the Festival, not with the old yeast, the yeast of malice and wickedness, but with bread without yeast, the bread of sincerity and truth.)

 

5:9 내 편지에서, 음행하는 사람들과 사귀지 말라고 여러분에게 썼습니다

( I have written you in my letter not to associate with sexually immoral people--)

 

5:10 그 말은, 이 세상에 음행하는 사람들이나, 탐욕을 부리는 사람들이나, 약탈하는 사람들이나, 우상을 숭배하는 사람들과, 전혀 사귀지 말라는 뜻이 아닙니다 그러려면, 여러분은 이 세상 밖으로 나가야 할 것입니다

( not at all meaning the people of this world who are immoral, or the greedy and swindlers, or idolaters. In that case you would have to leave this world.)

 

5:11 그러나 이제 내가 여러분에게 사귀지 말라고 쓰는 것은, 신도라 하는 어떤 사람이 음행하는 사람이거나, 탐욕을 부리는 사람이거나, 우상을 숭배하는 사람이거나, 사람을 중상하는 사람이거나, 술 취하는 사람이거나, 약탈하는 사람이면, 그런 사람과는 함께 먹지도 말라는 말입니다

( But now I am writing you that you must not associate with anyone who calls himself a brother but is sexually immoral or greedy, an idolater or a slanderer, a drunkard or a swindler. With such a man do not even eat.)

 

5:12 밖에 있는 사람들을 심판하는 것이, 나에게 무슨 상관이 있습니까? 여러분이 심판해야 할 사람들은 안에 있는 사람들이 아니겠습니까?

( What business is it of mine to judge those outside the church? Are you not to judge those inside?)

 

5:13 밖에 있는 사람들은 하나님께서 심판하실 것입니다 여러분은 그 악한 사람을 여러분 가운데서 내쫓으십시오

( God will judge those outside. "Expel the wicked man from among you.")

고린도전서 6장

 

세상 법정에 소송하지 말라

 

6:1 여러분 가운데서 어떤 사람이 다른 사람과 소송할 일이 있을 경우에, 성도들 앞에서 해결하려 하지 않고 불의한 자들 앞에 가서 재판을 받으려 한다고 하니, 그럴 수 있습니까?

( If any of you has a dispute with another, dare he take it before the ungodly for judgment instead of before the saints?)

 

6:2 성도들이 세상을 심판하리라는 것을 여러분은 알지 못합니까? 세상이 여러분에게 심판을 받겠거늘, 여러분이 아주 작은 사건 하나를 심판할 자격이 없겠습니까?

( Do you not know that the saints will judge the world? And if you are to judge the world, are you not competent to judge trivial cases?)

 

6:3 우리가 천사들도 심판하리라는 것을 알지 못합니까? 그러한데, 하물며 이 세상 일이야 말할 나위가 있겠습니까?

( Do you not know that we will judge angels? How much more the things of this life!)

 

6:4 그러니, 여러분에게 일상의 일과 관련해서 송사가 있을 경우에, 교회에서 멸시하는 바깥 사람들을 재판관으로 앉히겠습니까?

( Therefore, if you have disputes about such matters, appoint as judges even men of little account in the church!)

 

6:5 나는 여러분을 부끄럽게 하려고 이 말을 합니다 여러분 가운데는, 신도 사이에서 생기는 문제를 해결하여 줄 만큼, 지혜로운 사람이 하나도 없습니까?

( I say this to shame you. Is it possible that there is nobody among you wise enough to judge a dispute between believers?)

 

6:6 그래서 신도가 신도와 맞서 소송을 할 뿐만 아니라, 그것도 믿지 않는 사람들 앞에 한다는 말입니까?

( But instead, one brother goes to law against another--and this in front of unbelievers!)

 

6:7 여러분이 서로 소송을 제기하는 것부터가 벌써 여러분의 실패를 뜻합니다 왜 차라리 불의를 당해 주지 못합니까? 왜 차라리 속아 주지 못합니까?

( The very fact that you have lawsuits among you means you have been completely defeated already. Why not rather be wronged? Why not rather be cheated?)

 

6:8 그런데 도리어 여러분 자신이 불의를 행하고 속여 빼앗고 있으며, 그것도 신도들에게 그런 짓을 하고 있습니다

( Instead, you yourselves cheat and do wrong, and you do this to your brothers.)

 

6:9 불의한 사람들은 하나님 나라를 상속받지 못하리라는 것을 알지 못합니까? 착각하지 마십시오 음행을 하는 사람들이나, 우상을 숭배하는 사람들이나, 간음을 하는 사람들이나, 여성 노릇을 하는 사람들이나, 동성애를 하는 사람들이나,

( Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders)

 

6:10 도둑질하는 사람들이나, 탐욕을 부리는 사람들이나, 술 취하는 사람들이나, 남을 중상하는 사람들이나, 남의 것을 약탈하는 사람들은, 하나님 나라를 상속받지 못할 것입니다

( nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.)

 

6:11 여러분 가운데 이런 사람들이 더러 있었습니다 그러나 여러분은 주 예수 그리스도의 이름과 우리 하나님의 성령으로 씻겨지고, 거룩하게 되고, 의롭게 되었습니다

( And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.)

 

몸으로 하나님을 영화롭게 하라

 

6:12 "모든 것이 나에게 허용되어 있습니다" 그러나 모든 것이 유익한 것은 아닙니다 "모든 것이 나에게 허용되어 있습니다" 그러나 나는 아무것에도 제재를 받지 않겠습니다

( "Everything is permissible for me"--but not everything is beneficial. "Everything is permissible for me"--but I will not be mastered by anything.)

 

6:13 "음식은 배를 위한 것이고, 배는 음식을 위한 것입니다" 그러나 하나님께서는 이것도 저것도 다 없애 버리실 것입니다 몸은 음행을 위하여 있는 것이 아니라, 주님을 위하여 있는 것이며, 주님은 몸을 위하여 계십니다

( "Food for the stomach and the stomach for food"--but God will destroy them both. The body is not meant for sexual immorality, but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body.)

 

6:14 하나님께서 주님을 살리셨으니, 그의 권능으로 우리도 살리실 것입니다

( By his power God raised the Lord from the dead, and he will raise us also.)

 

6:15 여러분의 몸이 그리스도의 지체라는 것을 알지 못합니까? 그런데, 내가 그리스도의 지체를 떼어다가 창녀의 지체를 만들 수 있겠습니까? 그럴 수 없습니다

( Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ himself? Shall I then take the members of Christ and unite them with a prostitute? Never!)

 

6:16 창녀와 합하는 사람은 그와 한 몸이 된다는 것을 알지 못합니까? "두 사람이 한 몸이 될 것이다" 하신 말씀이 있습니다

( Do you not know that he who unites himself with a prostitute is one with her in body? For it is said, "The two will become one flesh.")

 

6:17 그러나 주님과 합하는 사람은 그와 한 영이 됩니다

( But he who unites himself with the Lord is one with him in spirit.)

 

6:18 음행을 피하십시오 사람이 짓는 다른 모든 죄는 자기 몸 밖에 있는 것이지만, 음행을 하는 자는 자기 몸에다가 죄를 짓는 것입니다

( Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a man commits are outside his body, but he who sins sexually sins against his own body.)

 

6:19 여러분의 몸은 여러분 안에 계신 성령의 성전이라는 것을 알지 못합니까? 여러분은 성령을 하나님으로부터 받아서 모시고 있습니다 여러분은 여러분 자신의 것이 아닙니다

( Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own;)

 

6:20 여러분은 하나님께서 값을 치르고 사들인 사람입니다 그러므로 여러분의 몸으로 하나님을 영화롭게 하십시오

( you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body.)
