히브리서 1장

 

하나님께서 아들을 시켜서 말씀하시다

 

1:1 하나님께서 옛날에는 예언자들을 통하여, 여러 번에 걸쳐 여러 가지 방법으로 우리 조상들에게 말씀하셨으나,

( In the past God spoke to our forefathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways,)

 

1:2 이 마지막 날에는 아들을 통하여 우리에게 말씀하셨습니다 하나님께서는 이 아들을 만물의 상속자로 세우셨습니다 그를 통하여 온 세상을 지으신 것입니다

( but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom he made the universe.)

 

1:3 그는 하나님의 영광의 광채시요, 하나님의 본체대로의 모습이십니다 그는 자기의 능력 있는 말씀으로 만물을 보존하시는 분이십니다 그는 죄를 깨끗하게 하시고서 높은 곳에 계신 존엄하신 분의 오른쪽에 앉으셨습니다

( The Son is the radiance of God's glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.)

 

1:4 그는 천사들보다 훨씬 더 높게 되셨으니, 천사들보다 더 빼어난 이름을 물려받으신 것입니다

( So he became as much superior to the angels as the name he has inherited is superior to theirs.)

 

아들은 천사보다 뛰어나시다

 

1:5 하나님께서 천사들 가운데서 누구에게 "너는 내 아들이다 내가 오늘 너를 낳았다" 하고 말씀하신 적이 있습니까? 또, "나는 그의 아버지가 되고, 그는 내 아들이 될 것이다" 하고 말씀하신 적이 있습니까?

( For to which of the angels did God ever say, "You are my Son; today I have become your Father"? Or again, "I will be his Father, and he will be my Son"?)

 

1:6 그러나 자기의 맏아들을 세상에 보내실 때에는 "하나님의 천사들은 모두 그에게 경배하여라" 하고 말씀하셨습니다

( And again, when God brings his firstborn into the world, he says, "Let all God's angels worship him.")

 

1:7 또 천사들에 관해서는 성경에 이르기를 "하나님께서는 천사들을 바람으로 삼으시고, 시중꾼들을 불꽃으로 삼으신다" 하였고,

( In speaking of the angels he says, "He makes his angels winds, his servants flames of fire.")

 

1:8 아들에 관해서는 성경에 이르기를 "하나님, 주님의 보좌는 영원무궁하며, 공의의 막대기는 곧 주님의 왕권입니다

( But about the Son he says, "Your throne, O God, will last for ever and ever, and righteousness will be the scepter of your kingdom.)

 

1:9 주님께서는 정의를 사랑하시고, 불법을 미워하셨습니다 그러므로 하나님 곧 주님의 하나님께서는 주님께 즐거움의 기름을 부으셔서, 주님을 주님의 동료들 위에 높이 올리셨습니다" 하였습니다

( You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness; therefore God, your God, has set you above your companions by anointing you with the oil of joy.")

 

1:10 또 이렇게 말하였습니다 "주님, 주님께서는 태초에 땅의 기초를 놓으셨습니다 하늘은 주님의 손으로 지으신 것입니다

( He also says, "In the beginning, O Lord, you laid the foundations of the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands.)

 

1:11 그것들은 없어질지라도, 주님께서는 영원히 존재하십니다 그것들은 다 옷처럼 낡을 것이요,

( They will perish, but you remain; they will all wear out like a garment.)

 

1:12 주님께서는 그것들을 두루마기처럼 말아 치우실 것이며, 그것들이 다 옷처럼 변하고 말 것입니다 그러나 주님께서는 언제나 같으시고, 주님의 세월은 끝남이 없을 것입니다"

( You will roll them up like a robe; like a garment they will be changed. But you remain the same, and your years will never end.")

 

1:13 그런데 하나님께서 천사 가운데서 누구에게 "내가 네 원수들을 네 발 아래에 굴복시킬 때까지, 너는 내 오른쪽에 앉아 있어라" 하고 말씀하신 적이 있습니까?

( To which of the angels did God ever say, "Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet"?)

 

1:14 천사들은 모두 구원의 상속자가 될 사람들을 섬기도록 보내심을 받은 영들이 아닙니까?

( Are not all angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation?)

히브리서 2장

 

귀중한 구원

 

2:1 그러므로 우리는 들은 바를 더욱 굳게 간직하여, 잘못된 길로 빠져드는 일이 없어야 마땅하겠습니다

( We must pay more careful attention, therefore, to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away.)

 

2:2 천사들을 통하여 하신 말씀이 효력을 내어, 모든 범행과 불순종하는 행위가 공정한 갚음을 받았거든,

( For if the message spoken by angels was binding, and every violation and disobedience received its just punishment,)

 

2:3 하물며 우리가 이렇게도 귀중한 구원을 소홀히 하고서야, 어떻게 그 갚음을 피할 수 있겠습니까? 이 구원은 주님께서 처음에 말씀하신 것이요, 그것을 들은 사람들이 우리에게 확증하여 준 것입니다

( how shall we escape if we ignore such a great salvation? This salvation, which was first announced by the Lord, was confirmed to us by those who heard him.)

 

2:4 그리고 하나님께서도 표징과 기이한 일과 여러 가지 기적을 보이시고, 또 자기의 뜻을 따라, 성령의 선물을 나누어주심으로써, 그들과 함께 증언하여 주셨습니다

( God also testified to it by signs, wonders and various miracles, and gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed according to his will.)

 

구원의 창시자

 

2:5 하나님께서는 지금 우리가 말하는 장차 올 세상을 천사들의 지배 아래에 두신 것이 아닙니다

( It is not to angels that he has subjected the world to come, about which we are speaking.)

 

2:6 어떤 이가 성경 어딘가에서 이렇게 증언하였습니다 "사람이 무엇이기에 주님께서 그를 기억하여 주시며, 인자가 무엇이기에 주님께서 그를 돌보아 주십니까?

( But there is a place where someone has testified: "What is man that you are mindful of him, the son of man that you care for him?)

 

2:7 주님께서는 그를 잠시 동안 천사들보다 못하게 하셨으나, 영광과 존귀의 면류관을 그에게 씌워 주셨으며,

( You made him a little lower than the angels; you crowned him with glory and honor)

 

2:8 만물을 그의 발 아래에 복종시키셨습니다" 하나님께서 만물을 사람에게 복종시키심으로써, 그에게 복종하지 않는 것이라고는 아무것도 없게 하신 것입니다 그러나 지금 우리가 보기로는, 아직도 만물이 다 그에게 복종하고 있는 것은 아닙니다

( and put everything under his feet." In putting everything under him, God left nothing that is not subject to him. Yet at present we do not see everything subject to him.)

 

2:9 예수께서 다만 잠시 동안 천사들보다 낮아지셔서, 죽음의 고난을 당하심으로써, 영광과 존귀의 면류관을 받아쓰신 것을, 우리가 봅니다 그는 하나님의 은혜로 모든 사람을 위하여 죽음을 맛보셔야 했습니다

( But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels, now crowned with glory and honor because he suffered death, so that by the grace of God he might taste death for everyone.)

 

2:10 하나님께서는 만물을 창조하시고, 만물을 보존하시는 분이십니다 그러므로 하나님께서 많은 자녀를 영광에 이끌어들이실 때에, 그들의 구원의 창시자를 고난으로써 완전하게 하신다는 것은 당연한 일입니다

( In bringing many sons to glory, it was fitting that God, for whom and through whom everything exists, should make the author of their salvation perfect through suffering.)

 

2:11 거룩하게 하시는 분과 거룩하게 되는 사람들은 모두 한 분이신 아버지께 속합니다 그러하므로 예수께서는 그들을 형제자매라고 부르시기를 부끄러워하지 않으셨습니다

( Both the one who makes men holy and those who are made holy are of the same family. So Jesus is not ashamed to call them brothers.)

 

2:12 그리하여 그분은 "내가 주님의 이름을 내 형제자매들에게 선포하며, 회중 가운데서 주님을 찬미하겠습니다" 하고 말씀하시고,

( He says, "I will declare your name to my brothers; in the presence of the congregation I will sing your praises.")

 

2:13 또 "나는 그를 신뢰하겠습니다" 하고 말씀하시고, "보십시오, 내가 여기에 있습니다 또 하나님께서 내게 주신 자녀들이 여기에 있습니다" 하고 말씀하셨습니다

( And again, "I will put my trust in him." And again he says, "Here am I, and the children God has given me.")

 

2:14 이 자녀들은 피와 살을 가진 사람들이기에, 그도 역시 피와 살을 가지셨습니다 그것은, 그가 죽음을 겪으시고서, 죽음의 세력을 쥐고 있는 자 곧 악마를 멸하시고,

( Since the children have flesh and blood, he too shared in their humanity so that by his death he might destroy him who holds the power of death--that is, the devil--)

 

2:15 또 일생 동안 죽음의 공포 때문에 종노릇하는 사람들을 해방시키시기 위함이었습니다

( and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death.)

 

2:16 사실, 주님께서는 천사들을 도와주시는 것이 아니라, 아브라함의 자손들을 도와주십니다

( For surely it is not angels he helps, but Abraham's descendants.)

 

2:17 그러므로 그는 모든 점에서 형제자매들과 같아지셔야만 했습니다 그것은, 그가 하나님 앞에서 자비롭고 성실한 대제사장이 되심으로써, 백성의 죄를 대신 갚으시기 위한 것입니다

( For this reason he had to be made like his brothers in every way, in order that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in service to God, and that he might make atonement for the sins of the people.)

 

2:18 그는 몸소 시험을 받아서 고난을 당하셨으므로, 시험을 받는 사람들을 도우실 수 있습니다

( Because he himself suffered when he was tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted.)
