히브리서 5장

 

5:1 각 대제사장은 사람들 가운데서 뽑혀서 하나님과 관계되는 일에 임명받습니다 그리하여 그는 사람들을 위하여 예물과 속죄의 희생 제사를 드립니다

( Every high priest is selected from among men and is appointed to represent them in matters related to God, to offer gifts and sacrifices for sins.)

 

5:2 그는 자기도 연약함에 휘말려 있으므로, 그릇된 길을 가는 무지한 사람들을 너그러이 대할 수 있습니다

( He is able to deal gently with those who are ignorant and are going astray, since he himself is subject to weakness.)

 

5:3 그는 백성을 위해서 속죄의 제사를 드려야 하는 것과 마찬가지로, 그 연약함 때문에 자기 자신을 위해서도 드려야 하는 것입니다

( This is why he has to offer sacrifices for his own sins, as well as for the sins of the people.)

 

5:4 누구든지 이 영예는 자기 스스로 얻는 것이 아니라, 아론과 같이 하나님의 부르심을 받아서 얻는 것입니다

( No one takes this honor upon himself; he must be called by God, just as Aaron was.)

 

5:5 이와 같이 그리스도께서도 자기 자신을 스스로 높여서 대제사장이 되는 영광을 차지하신 것이 아니라, 그에게 "너는 내 아들이다 오늘 내가 너를 낳았다" 하고 말씀하신 분이 그렇게 하신 것입니다

( So Christ also did not take upon himself the glory of becoming a high priest. But God said to him, "You are my Son; today I have become your Father.")

 

5:6 또 다른 곳에서 "너는 멜기세덱의 계통을 따라 임명받은 영원한 제사장이다" 하고 말씀하셨습니다

( And he says in another place, "You are a priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek.")

 

5:7 예수께서 육신으로 세상에 계실 때에, 자기를 죽음에서 구원하실 수 있는 분께 큰 부르짖음과 많은 눈물로써 기도와 탄원을 올리셨습니다 하나님께서는 예수의 경외심을 보시어서, 그 간구를 들어주셨습니다

( During the days of Jesus' life on earth, he offered up prayers and petitions with loud cries and tears to the one who could save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverent submission.)

 

5:8 그는 아드님이시지만, 고난을 당하심으로써 순종을 배우셨습니다

( Although he was a son, he learned obedience from what he suffered)

 

5:9 그리고 완전하게 되신 뒤에, 자기에게 순종하는 모든 사람에게 영원한 구원의 근원이 되시고,

( and, once made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him)

 

5:10 하나님에게서 멜기세덱의 계통을 따라 대제사장으로 임명을 받으셨습니다

( and was designated by God to be high priest in the order of Melchizedek.)

 

변절을 경고하시다

 

5:11 멜기세덱에 관하여는 할 말이 많이 있지만, 여러분의 귀가 둔해진 까닭에 설명하기 어렵습니다

( We have much to say about this, but it is hard to explain because you are slow to learn.)

 

5:12 시간으로 보면, 여러분은 이미 교사가 되었어야 할 터인데, 다시금 하나님의 말씀의 초보적 원리를 남들에게서 배워야 할 처지에 놓여 있습니다 여러분은 단단한 음식물이 아니라, 젖을 필요로 하는 사람이 되었습니다

( In fact, though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you the elementary truths of God's word all over again. You need milk, not solid food!)

 

5:13 젖을 먹고서 사는 이는 아직 어린아이이므로, 올바른 가르침에 익숙하지 못합니다

( Anyone who lives on milk, being still an infant, is not acquainted with the teaching about righteousness.)

 

5:14 그러나 단단한 음식물은 장성한 사람들의 것입니다 그들은 경험으로 선과 악을 분별하는 세련된 지각을 가지고 있는 사람들입니다

( But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil.)

히브리서 6장

 

6:1 그러므로 우리는 그리스도교의 초보적 교리를 제쳐놓고서, 성숙한 경지로 나아갑시다 죽은 행실에서 벗어나는 회개와 하나님에 대한 믿음과

( Therefore let us leave the elementary teachings about Christ and go on to maturity, not laying again the foundation of repentance from acts that lead to death, and of faith in God,)

 

6:2 세례에 관한 가르침과 안수와 죽은 사람의 부활과 영원한 심판과 관련해서, 또 다시 기초를 놓는 일이 없어야 하겠습니다

( instruction about baptisms, the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment.)

 

6:3 하나님께서 허락하시면, 우리는 그렇게 할 수 있을 것입니다

( And God permitting, we will do so.)

 

6:4 한번 빛을 받아서 하늘의 은사를 맛보고, 성령을 나누어 받고, 또

( It is impossible for those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, who have shared in the Holy Spirit,)

 

6:5 하나님의 선한 말씀과 장차 올 세상의 권능을 맛본 사람들이

( who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the coming age,)

 

6:6 타락하면, 그들을 새롭게 해서 회개에 이르게 할 수 없습니다 그런 사람들이야말로 하나님의 아들을 다시금 십자가에 못박고 욕되게 하는 것이기 때문입니다

( if they fall away, to be brought back to repentance, because to their loss they are crucifying the Son of God all over again and subjecting him to public disgrace.)

 

6:7 땅이 자주 내리는 비를 흡수하여 농사짓는 사람에게 유익한 농작물을 내 주면, 그 땅은 하나님께로부터 복을 받습니다

( Land that drinks in the rain often falling on it and that produces a crop useful to those for whom it is farmed receives the blessing of God.)

 

6:8 그러나 가시덤불과 엉겅퀴를 내면, 그 땅은 쓸모가 없어지고, 저주를 받아서 마침내는 불에 타고 말 것입니다

( But land that produces thorns and thistles is worthless and is in danger of being cursed. In the end it will be burned.)

 

6:9 사랑하는 여러분, 우리가 이렇게 말하지만, 여러분에게는 구원에 이르게 하는 더 좋은 것들이 있다는 것을 확신합니다

( Even though we speak like this, dear friends, we are confident of better things in your case--things that accompany salvation.)

 

6:10 하나님은 불의하신 분이 아니므로, 여러분의 행위와 여러분이 하나님의 이름을 위하여 나타낸 사랑을 잊지 않으십니다 여러분은 성도들을 섬겼으며, 또 지금도 섬기고 있습니다

( God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them.)

 

6:11 여러분 각 사람은 같은 열성을 끝까지 나타내서, 소망을 이루시기 바랍니다

( We want each of you to show this same diligence to the very end, in order to make your hope sure.)

 

6:12 여러분은 게으른 사람이 되지 말고, 믿음과 인내로 약속을 상속받는 사람들을 본받는 사람이 되어야 합니다

( We do not want you to become lazy, but to imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised.)

 

하나님의 확실한 약속

 

6:13 하나님께서는 아브라함에게 약속하실 때에, 자기보다 더 큰 분이 계시지 아니하므로, 자기를 두고 맹세하시고서,

( When God made his promise to Abraham, since there was no one greater for him to swear by, he swore by himself,)

 

6:14 말씀하시기를 "내가 반드시 너에게 복을 주고 복을 줄 것이며, 너를 번성하게 하고 번성하게 하겠다" 하셨습니다

( saying, "I will surely bless you and give you many descendants.")

 

6:15 그리하여 아브라함은 오래 참은 끝에 그 약속을 받은 것입니다

( And so after waiting patiently, Abraham received what was promised.)

 

6:16 사람들은 자기보다 더 위대한 이를 두고서 맹세합니다 그런데 맹세는 그들에게 모든 논쟁을 그치게 하여 주고, 확정을 지어줍니다

( Men swear by someone greater than themselves, and the oath confirms what is said and puts an end to all argument.)

 

6:17 그래서 하나님께서는, 그 약속을 상속받는 사람들에게 하나님의 뜻이 변하지 않는다는 것을 더욱 환히 나타내 보이시려고, 맹세로써 보증하여 주셨습니다

( Because God wanted to make the unchanging nature of his purpose very clear to the heirs of what was promised, he confirmed it with an oath.)

 

6:18 이는 앞에 놓인 소망을 붙잡으려고 세상에서 피하여 나온 사람들인 우리가, 이 두 가지 변할 수 없는 사실 곧 하나님의 약속과 맹세를 의지하여 큰 위로를 받게 하려는 것입니다 하나님께서는 약속하시고 맹세하실 때에 거짓말을 하실 수 없습니다

( God did this so that, by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled to take hold of the hope offered to us may be greatly encouraged.)

 

6:19 우리에게는 이 소망이 있으니, 그것은 안전하고 확실한 영혼의 닻과 같아서, 휘장 안에까지 들어가게 해 줍니다

( We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain,)

 

6:20 예수께서는 앞서서 달려가신 분으로서, 우리를 위하여 거기에 들어가셔서, 멜기세덱의 계통을 따라 영원히 대제사장이 되셨습니다

( where Jesus, who went before us, has entered on our behalf. He has become a high priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek.)

히브리서 7장

 

멜기세덱

 

7:1 이 멜기세덱은 살렘 왕이요, 지극히 높으신 하나님의 제사장이었습니다 그는 아브라함이 여러 왕을 무찌르고 돌아올 때에, 그를 만나서 축복해 주었습니다

( This Melchizedek was king of Salem and priest of God Most High. He met Abraham returning from the defeat of the kings and blessed him,)

 

7:2 아브라함은 모든 것의 십분의 일을 그에게 나누어 주었습니다 첫째로, 멜기세덱이란 이름은 정의의 왕이라는 뜻이요, 다음으로, 그는 또한 살렘 왕인데, 그것은 평화의 왕이라는 뜻입니다

( and Abraham gave him a tenth of everything. First, his name means "king of righteousness"; then also, "king of Salem" means "king of peace.")

 

7:3 그에게는 아버지도 없고, 어머니도 없고, 족보도 없고, 생애의 시작도 없고, 생명의 끝도 없습니다 그는 하나님의 아들과 같아서, 언제까지나 제사장으로 계신 분입니다

( Without father or mother, without genealogy, without beginning of days or end of life, like the Son of God he remains a priest forever.)

 

7:4 멜기세덱이 얼마나 위대한가를 생각해 보십시오 족장인 아브라함까지도 가장 좋은 전리품의 십분의 일을 그에게 바쳤습니다

( Just think how great he was: Even the patriarch Abraham gave him a tenth of the plunder!)

 

7:5 레위 자손 가운데서 제사장 직분을 맡는 사람들은, 자기네 동족인 이스라엘 백성에게서, 비록 그 백성도 아브라함의 자손이지만, 율법을 따라 십분의 일을 받아들이라는 명령을 받았습니다

( Now the law requires the descendants of Levi who become priests to collect a tenth from the people--that is, their brothers--even though their brothers are descended from Abraham.)

 

7:6 그러나 멜기세덱은 그들의 족보에 들지도 않았지만, 아브라함에게서 십분의 일을 받았고, 하나님의 약속을 받은 그 사람을 축복해 주었습니다

( This man, however, did not trace his descent from Levi, yet he collected a tenth from Abraham and blessed him who had the promises.)

 

7:7 두말할 것 없이, 축복은 아랫사람이 윗사람에게서 받는 법입니다

( And without doubt the lesser person is blessed by the greater.)

 

7:8 한 편에서는 죽을 수밖에 없는 사람들이 십분의 일을 받고, 다른 한 편에서는 살아 계시다고 입증되시는 분이 그것을 받습니다

( In the one case, the tenth is collected by men who die; but in the other case, by him who is declared to be living.)

 

7:9 말하자면, 십분의 일을 받는 레위까지도 아브라함을 통해서 십분의 일을 바친 셈이 됩니다

( One might even say that Levi, who collects the tenth, paid the tenth through Abraham,)

 

7:10 멜기세덱이 아브라함을 만났을 때에는, 레위는 아직 자기 조상 아브라함의 허리 속에 있었으니 말입니다

( because when Melchizedek met Abraham, Levi was still in the body of his ancestor.)

 

7:11 그런데 이 레위 계통의 제사직과 관련하여, 이스라엘 백성은 율법으로 지령을 받기는 하였습니다 그러나 만일 그 제사직으로 완전한 것이 이루어질 수 있었다면, 아론의 계통이 아닌 멜기세덱의 계통을 따른 다른 제사장이 생겨날 필요가 어디에 있겠습니까?

( If perfection could have been attained through the Levitical priesthood (for on the basis of it the law was given to the people), why was there still need for another priest to come--one in the order of Melchizedek, not in the order of Aaron?)

 

7:12 제사직분에 변화가 생기면, 율법에도 반드시 변화가 생기기 마련입니다

( For when there is a change of the priesthood, there must also be a change of the law.)

 

7:13 이런 말이 가리키는 분은 레위 지파가 아닌 다른 지파에 속한 분입니다 그 지파에 속한 사람으로서는 아무도 제단에 종사한 적이 없습니다

( He of whom these things are said belonged to a different tribe, and no one from that tribe has ever served at the altar.)

 

7:14 우리 주님께서는 유다 지파에서 나신 것이 명백합니다 그런데 모세는 제사장들에 관하여 말할 때에, 이 지파와 관련해서는 말한 것이 아무것도 없습니다

( For it is clear that our Lord descended from Judah, and in regard to that tribe Moses said nothing about priests.)

 

7:15 멜기세덱과 같은 모양으로 다른 제사장이 생겨난 것을 보면, 이 사실은 더욱더 명백합니다

( And what we have said is even more clear if another priest like Melchizedek appears,)

 

7:16 그는 제사장의 혈통에 대해서 규정한 율법을 따라 제사장이 되신 것이 아니라, 썩지 않는 생명의 능력을 따라 되셨습니다

( one who has become a priest not on the basis of a regulation as to his ancestry but on the basis of the power of an indestructible life.)

 

7:17 그를 두고서 말하기를 "너는 멜기세덱의 계통을 따라서, 영원히 제사장이다" 한 증언이 있습니다

( For it is declared: "You are a priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek.")

 

7:18 전에 있던 계명은 무력하고 무익하므로 폐하게 되었습니다

( The former regulation is set aside because it was weak and useless)

 

7:19 율법은 아무것도 완전하게 하지 못하였습니다 그래서 하나님께서는 더 좋은 소망을 우리에게 주셨습니다 우리는 이 소망을 힘입어서 하나님께 가까이 나아갑니다

( (for the law made nothing perfect), and a better hope is introduced, by which we draw near to God.)

 

7:20 그리고 예수께서는 하나님의 맹세 없이 제사장이 되신 것이 아닙니다 레위 계통의 사람들은 맹세 없이 제사장이 되었습니다

( And it was not without an oath! Others became priests without any oath,)

 

7:21 그러나 예수께서는 자기에게 말씀하시는 분의 맹세로 제사장이 되신 것입니다 "주님께서 맹세하셨으니, 주님은 마음을 바꾸지 않으실 것이다 너는 영원히 제사장이다" 하셨습니다

( but he became a priest with an oath when God said to him: "The Lord has sworn and will not change his mind: 'You are a priest forever.'")

 

7:22 이렇게 해서, 예수께서는 더 좋은 언약을 보증하시는 분이 되셨습니다

( Because of this oath, Jesus has become the guarantee of a better covenant.)

 

7:23 또한 레위 계통의 제사장들은 죽음 때문에 그 직무를 계속할 수 없어서, 그 수가 많아졌습니다

( Now there have been many of those priests, since death prevented them from continuing in office;)

 

7:24 그러나 예수는 영원히 계시는 분이므로, 제사장직을 영구히 간직하십니다

( but because Jesus lives forever, he has a permanent priesthood.)

 

7:25 따라서 그는 자기를 통하여 하나님께 나아오는 사람들을 완전하게 구원하실 수 있습니다 그는 늘 살아 계셔서 그들을 위하여 중재의 간구를 하십니다

( Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them.)

 

7:26 예수는 이러한 제사장으로 우리에게 적격이십니다 그는 거룩하시고, 순진하시고, 순결하시고, 죄인들과 구별되시고, 하늘보다 높이 되신 분입니다

( Such a high priest meets our need--one who is holy, blameless, pure, set apart from sinners, exalted above the heavens.)

 

7:27 그는 다른 대제사장들처럼 날마다 먼저 자기 죄를 위하여 희생제물을 드리고, 그 다음에 백성을 위하여 희생제물을 드릴 필요가 없습니다 그는 자기 자신을 바치셔서 단 한 번에 이 일을 이루셨기 때문입니다

( Unlike the other high priests, he does not need to offer sacrifices day after day, first for his own sins, and then for the sins of the people. He sacrificed for their sins once for all when he offered himself.)

 

7:28 사람들에게 약점이 있어도 율법은 어쩔 수 없이 그들을 대제사장으로 세우지만, 율법이 생긴 이후에 하나님께서 맹세하신 말씀은 영원히 완전하게 되신 아들을 대제사장으로 세웠습니다

( For the law appoints as high priests men who are weak; but the oath, which came after the law, appointed the Son, who has been made perfect forever.)
