에스겔 1장

 

하나님의 보좌

 

1:1 때는 제 삼십년 넷째 달 오일이었다 그 때에 내가 포로로 잡혀 온 사람들과 함께 그발 강 가에 있었다 나는 하나님이 하늘을 열어 보여 주신 환상을 보았다

( In the thirtieth year, in the fourth month on the fifth day, while I was among the exiles by the Kebar River, the heavens were opened and I saw visions of God.)

 

1:2 여호야긴 왕이 포로로 잡혀 온 지 오 년째가 되는 그 달 오일에,

( On the fifth of the month--it was the fifth year of the exile of King Jehoiachin--)

 

1:3 주님께서 바빌로니아 땅의 그발 강 가에서 부시의 아들인 나 에스겔 제사장에게 특별히 말씀하셨으며, 거기에서 주님의 권능이 나를 사로잡았다

( the word of the LORD came to Ezekiel the priest, the son of Buzi, by the Kebar River in the land of the Babylonians. There the hand of the LORD was upon him.)

 

1:4 그 때에 내가 바라보니, 북쪽에서 폭풍이 불어오는데, 큰 구름이 밀려오고, 불빛이 계속 번쩍이며, 그 구름 둘레에는 광채가 나고, 그 광채 한가운데서는 불 속에서 빛나는 금붙이의 광채와 같은 것이 반짝였다

( I looked, and I saw a windstorm coming out of the north--an immense cloud with flashing lightning and surrounded by brilliant light. The center of the fire looked like glowing metal,)

 

1:5 그러더니 그 광채 한가운데서 네 생물의 형상이 나타나는데, 그들의 모습은 사람의 형상과 같았다

( and in the fire was what looked like four living creatures. In appearance their form was that of a man,)

 

1:6 얼굴이 각각 넷이요, 날개도 각각 넷이었다

( but each of them had four faces and four wings.)

 

1:7 그들의 다리는 모두 곧고, 그 발바닥은 송아지의 발바닥과 같고, 광낸 놋과 같이 반짝거렸다

( Their legs were straight; their feet were like those of a calf and gleamed like burnished bronze.)

 

1:8 그 생물의 사면에 달린 날개 밑에는 사람의 손이 있으며, 네 생물에게는 얼굴과 날개가 있었다

( Under their wings on their four sides they had the hands of a man. All four of them had faces and wings,)

 

1:9 그들의 날개 끝은 서로 닿아 있으며, 앞으로 나아갈 때에는 몸을 돌리지 않고, 각각 앞으로 곧게 나아갔다

( and their wings touched one another. Each one went straight ahead; they did not turn as they moved.)

 

1:10 그 네 생물의 얼굴 모양은, 제각기, 앞쪽은 사람의 얼굴이요, 오른쪽은 사자의 얼굴이요, 왼쪽은 황소의 얼굴이요, 뒤쪽은 독수리의 얼굴이었다

( Their faces looked like this: Each of the four had the face of a man, and on the right side each had the face of a lion, and on the left the face of an ox; each also had the face of an eagle.)

 

1:11 이것이 그들의 얼굴 모양이었다 그들의 날개는 위로 펼쳐져 있는데, 두 날개로는 서로 끝을 맞대고 있고, 또 두 날개로는 그들의 몸을 가리고 있었다

( Such were their faces. Their wings were spread out upward; each had two wings, one touching the wing of another creature on either side, and two wings covering its body.)

 

1:12 그들은 영이 가고자 하는 곳으로 갈 때에는, 각각 앞으로 곧게 나아갔다 그들은 몸을 돌리지 않고 앞으로 나아갔다

( Each one went straight ahead. Wherever the spirit would go, they would go, without turning as they went.)

 

1:13 그 생물들의 모양은 마치 활활 타는 숯불이나 횃불과 같이 보였다 그 불은 그 생물들 사이를 오가며 빛을 냈고, 불 속에서는 번개가 튀어나오고 있었다

( The appearance of the living creatures was like burning coals of fire or like torches. Fire moved back and forth among the creatures; it was bright, and lightning flashed out of it.)

 

1:14 그 생물들은 이쪽 저쪽으로 번개처럼 빠르게 달렸다

( The creatures sped back and forth like flashes of lightning.)

 

1:15 그 때에 내가 그 생물들을 바라보니, 그 생물들의 곁 땅 위에는 바퀴가 하나 있는데, 그 바퀴는 네 얼굴을 따라 하나씩 있었다

( As I looked at the living creatures, I saw a wheel on the ground beside each creature with its four faces.)

 

1:16 그 바퀴의 형상과 구조를 보니, 그 형상은 빛나는 녹주석과 같고 네 바퀴의 형상이 모두 똑같으며, 그 구조는 마치 바퀴 안에 바퀴가 들어 있는 것처럼 보였다

( This was the appearance and structure of the wheels: They sparkled like chrysolite, and all four looked alike. Each appeared to be made like a wheel intersecting a wheel.)

 

1:17 그 바퀴들은 사방 어디로 가든지, 방향을 돌이키지 않고서도 앞으로 나아갔다

( As they moved, they would go in any one of the four directions the creatures faced; the wheels did not turn about as the creatures went.)

 

1:18 그 바퀴의 둘레는 모두 높고, 보기에도 무서우며, 그 네 둘레로 돌아가면서, 눈이 가득하였다

( Their rims were high and awesome, and all four rims were full of eyes all around.)

 

1:19 그 생물들이 나아가면, 바퀴들도 생물들의 곁에서 함께 나아갔고, 생물들이 땅에서 떠오르면, 바퀴들도 함께 떠올랐다

( When the living creatures moved, the wheels beside them moved; and when the living creatures rose from the ground, the wheels also rose.)

 

1:20 그 생물들은 어디든지, 영이 가고자 하면, 그 영이 가고자 하는 곳으로 갔다 바퀴들도 그들과 함께 떠올랐는데, 생물들의 영이 바퀴 속에 들어 있었기 때문이다

( Wherever the spirit would go, they would go, and the wheels would rise along with them, because the spirit of the living creatures was in the wheels.)

 

1:21 생물들이 나아가면 그 바퀴들도 나아갔고, 생물들이 멈추어 서 있으면, 바퀴들도 멈추어 서 있었다 또 생물들이 땅에서 떠오르면, 바퀴도 그들과 똑같이 떠올랐는데, 생물들의 영이 바퀴들 속에 들어 있었기 때문이다

( When the creatures moved, they also moved; when the creatures stood still, they also stood still; and when the creatures rose from the ground, the wheels rose along with them, because the spirit of the living creatures was in the wheels.)

 

1:22 그 생물들의 머리 위에는 창공 모양의 덮개와 같은 것이 있는데, 수정과 같은 빛을 내서, 보기에 심히 두려웠으며, 그 생물들의 머리 위에 펼쳐져 있었다

( Spread out above the heads of the living creatures was what looked like an expanse, sparkling like ice, and awesome.)

 

1:23 그런데 창공 모양의 덮개 밑에는 그 생물들이 펼친 날개가 서로 맞닿아 있었다 이쪽 생물들이 두 날개로 자기의 몸을 가리고 있고, 저쪽 생물들도 두 날개로 자기의 몸을 가리고 있었다

( Under the expanse their wings were stretched out one toward the other, and each had two wings covering its body.)

 

1:24 그들이 움직일 때에는, 나는, 그들이 날개치는 소리를 들었다 그 소리는 마치 힘찬 물소리와도 같고, 전능하신 분의 천둥소리와도 같고, 떠드는 소리 곧 군인들의 진영에서 나는 함성과도 같았다 그들은 멈추어 서 있을 때에는 날개를 드리웠다

( When the creatures moved, I heard the sound of their wings, like the roar of rushing waters, like the voice of the Almighty, like the tumult of an army. When they stood still, they lowered their wings.)

 

1:25 그들의 머리 위에 있는 창공 모양의 덮개 위에서 소리가 들렸다 그들은 멈추어 서 있을 때에는 날개를 드리웠다

( Then there came a voice from above the expanse over their heads as they stood with lowered wings.)

 

1:26 또 그들의 머리 위에 있는 창공 모양의 덮개 위에는, 청옥처럼 보이는 보석으로 만든 보좌 형상을 한 것이 있었고, 그 보좌 형상 위에는, 사람의 모습과 비슷한 형상이 있었다

( Above the expanse over their heads was what looked like a throne of sapphire, and high above on the throne was a figure like that of a man.)

 

1:27 또 나는 그의 허리처럼 보이는 그 위쪽에서 금붙이의 광채와 같은 것이 불꽃처럼 안팎으로 그를 둘러싼 것을 보았는데, 그의 허리처럼 보이는 그 아래쪽에서도, 나는 불꽃과 같은 모양을 보았다 이렇게 그는 광채로 둘러싸여 있었다

( I saw that from what appeared to be his waist up he looked like glowing metal, as if full of fire, and that from there down he looked like fire; and brilliant light surrounded him.)

 

1:28 그를 둘러싼 광채의 모양은, 비 오는 날 구름 속에 나타나는 무지개 같이 보였는데, 그것은 주님의 영광이 나타난 모양과 같았다 그 모습을 보고, 나는 얼굴을 땅에 대고 엎드렸다 그 때에 말씀하시는 이의 음성을 내가 들었다

( Like the appearance of a rainbow in the clouds on a rainy day, so was the radiance around him. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the LORD. When I saw it, I fell facedown, and I heard the voice of one speaking.)

에스겔 2장

 

에스겔은 예언자로 부르시다

 

2:1 그가 나에게 말씀하셨다 "사람아, 일어서라 내가 너에게 할 말이 있다"

( He said to me, "Son of man, stand up on your feet and I will speak to you.")

 

2:2 그가 나에게 이 말씀을 하실 때에, 한 영이 내 속으로 들어와서, 나를 일으켜 세웠다 나는 그가 나에게 하시는 말씀을 계속 듣고 있었다

( As he spoke, the Spirit came into me and raised me to my feet, and I heard him speaking to me.)

 

2:3 그가 나에게 말씀하셨다 "사람아, 내가 너를 이스라엘 자손에게, 곧 나에게 반역만 해 온 한 반역 민족에게 보낸다 그들은 그들의 조상처럼 이 날까지 나에게 죄만 지었다

( He said: "Son of man, I am sending you to the Israelites, to a rebellious nation that has rebelled against me; they and their fathers have been in revolt against me to this very day.)

 

2:4 얼굴이 뻔뻔하고 마음이 굳을 대로 굳어진 바로 그 자손에게, 내가 너를 보낸다 너는 그들에게 '주 하나님께서 이와 같이 말씀하신다' 하고 말하여라

( The people to whom I am sending you are obstinate and stubborn. Say to them, 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says.')

 

2:5 그들은 반역하는 족속이다 듣든지 말든지, 자기들 가운데 예언자가 있다는 것만은 알게 될 것이다

( And whether they listen or fail to listen--for they are a rebellious house--they will know that a prophet has been among them.)

 

2:6 너 사람아, 비록 네가 가시와 찔레 속에서 살고, 전갈 떼 가운데서 살고 있더라도, 너는 그들을 두려워하지 말고, 그들이 하는 말도 두려워하지 말아라 그들이 하는 말을 너는 두려워하지 말고, 그들의 얼굴 앞에서 너는 떨지 말아라 그들은 반역하는 족속이다

( And you, son of man, do not be afraid of them or their words. Do not be afraid, though briers and thorns are all around you and you live among scorpions. Do not be afraid of what they say or terrified by them, though they are a rebellious house.)

 

2:7 그들이 듣든지 말든지 오직 너는 그들에게 나의 말을 전하여라 그들은 반역하는 족속이다

( You must speak my words to them, whether they listen or fail to listen, for they are rebellious.)

 

2:8 너 사람아, 내가 너에게 하는 말을 들어라 너는 저 반역하는 족속처럼 반역하지 말고, 입을 벌려, 내가 너에게 주는 것을 받아 먹어라"

( But you, son of man, listen to what I say to you. Do not rebel like that rebellious house; open your mouth and eat what I give you.")

 

2:9 그래서 내가 바라보니, 손 하나가 내 앞으로 뻗쳐 있었고, 그 손에는 두루마리 책이 있었다

( Then I looked, and I saw a hand stretched out to me. In it was a scroll,)

 

2:10 그가 그 두루마리 책을 내 앞에 펴서 보여 주셨는데, 앞뒤로 글이 적혀 있고, 거기에는 온갖 조가와 탄식과 재앙의 글이 적혀 있었다

( which he unrolled before me. On both sides of it were written words of lament and mourning and woe.)

에스겔 3장

 

3:1 그가 또 나에게 말씀하셨다 "사람아, 너에게 보여 주는 것을 받아 먹어라 너는 이 두루마리를 먹고 가서, 이스라엘 족속에게 알려 주어라"

( And he said to me, "Son of man, eat what is before you, eat this scroll; then go and speak to the house of Israel.")

 

3:2 그래서 내가 입을 벌렸더니, 그가 그 두루마리를 먹여 주시며,

( So I opened my mouth, and he gave me the scroll to eat.)

 

3:3 나에게 말씀하셨다 "사람아, 내가 너에게 주는 이 두루마리를 먹고, 너의 배를 불리며, 너의 속을 그것으로 가득히 채워라" 그래서 내가 그것을 먹었더니, 그것이 나의 입에 꿀같이 달았다

( Then he said to me, "Son of man, eat this scroll I am giving you and fill your stomach with it." So I ate it, and it tasted as sweet as honey in my mouth.)

 

3:4 그가 또 나에게 말씀하셨다 "사람아, 어서 이스라엘 족속에게 가서, 내가 하는 바로 이 말을 그들에게 전하여라

( He then said to me: "Son of man, go now to the house of Israel and speak my words to them.)

 

3:5 나는 너를 이스라엘 족속에게 보낸다 어렵고 알기 힘든 외국말을 하는 민족에게 내가 너를 보내는 것이 아니다

( You are not being sent to a people of obscure speech and difficult language, but to the house of Israel--)

 

3:6 알아들을 수 없는 말, 알기 힘든 외국어를 사용하는 여러 민족에게 내가 너를 보내는 것이 아니다 차라리 너를 그들에게 보내면, 그들은 너의 말을 들을 것이다

( not to many peoples of obscure speech and difficult language, whose words you cannot understand. Surely if I had sent you to them, they would have listened to you.)

 

3:7 그러나 이스라엘 족속은 너의 말을 들으려고 하지 않을 것이다 온 이스라엘 족속은 얼굴에 쇠가죽을 쓴 고집센 자들이어서, 나의 말을 들을 생각이 없기 때문이다

( But the house of Israel is not willing to listen to you because they are not willing to listen to me, for the whole house of Israel is hardened and obstinate.)

 

3:8 내가 네 얼굴도 그들의 얼굴과 맞먹도록 억세게 만들었고, 네 얼굴에도 그들의 얼굴과 맞먹도록 쇠가죽을 씌웠다

( But I will make you as unyielding and hardened as they are.)

 

3:9 내가 네 이마를 바윗돌보다 더 굳게 하여, 금강석처럼 만들어 놓았다 그들은 반역하는 족속이니, 너는 그들을 두려워하지 말고, 그들의 얼굴 앞에서 떨지도 말아라"

( I will make your forehead like the hardest stone, harder than flint. Do not be afraid of them or terrified by them, though they are a rebellious house.")

 

3:10 그런 다음에, 그가 나에게 말씀하셨다 "사람아, 내가 너에게 하는 모든 말을 마음 속에 받아들이고, 귀를 기울여 들어라

( And he said to me, "Son of man, listen carefully and take to heart all the words I speak to you.)

 

3:11 그리고 가서, 포로로 끌려간 네 민족의 자손에게 이르러, 그들에게 전하여라 그들이 듣든지 말든지 '주 하나님께서 이렇게 말씀하신다' 하고 그들에게 말하여라"

( Go now to your countrymen in exile and speak to them. Say to them, 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says,' whether they listen or fail to listen.")

 

3:12 그 때에 주님의 영이 나를 들어 올리시는데, 주님의 영광이 그 처소에서 나타날 때에, 내 뒤에서 지진이 터지는 것같이 크고 요란한 소리가 들렸다

( Then the Spirit lifted me up, and I heard behind me a loud rumbling sound--May the glory of the LORD be praised in his dwelling place!--)

 

3:13 생물들의 날개가 서로 부딪히는 소리와, 생물들의 곁에 달린 바퀴들의 소리가, 그렇게 크고 요란하게 들렸다

( the sound of the wings of the living creatures brushing against each other and the sound of the wheels beside them, a loud rumbling sound.)

 

3:14 주님의 영이 나를 들어 올려서 데리고 가실 때에, 나는 괴롭고 분통이 터지는 심정에 잠겨 있었는데, 주님의 손이 나를 무겁게 짓눌렀다

( The Spirit then lifted me up and took me away, and I went in bitterness and in the anger of my spirit, with the strong hand of the LORD upon me.)

 

3:15 나는 델아빕으로 갔다 그 곳 그발 강 가에는 포로로 끌려온 백성이 살고 있었다 나는 그들과 함께 이레 동안 머물러 있었는데, 얼이 빠진 사람처럼 앉아 있었다

( I came to the exiles who lived at Tel Abib near the Kebar River. And there, where they were living, I sat among them for seven days--overwhelmed.)

 

파수꾼 에스겔;겔33:1-9

 

3:16 이레가 지난 다음에 주님께서 나에게 말씀하셨다

( At the end of seven days the word of the LORD came to me:)

 

3:17 "사람아, 내가 너를 이스라엘 족속의 파수꾼으로 세웠다 그러므로 너는 내가 하는 말을 듣고, 나를 대신하여 그들에게 경고하여라

( "Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel; so hear the word I speak and give them warning from me.)

 

3:18 가령 내가 악인에게 말하기를 '너는 반드시 죽을 것이다' 할 때에, 네가 그 악인을 깨우쳐 주지 않거나, 그 악인에게 말로 타일러서 그가 악한 길을 버리고 떠나 생명이 구원 받도록 경고해 주지 않으면, 그 악인은 자신의 악한 행실 때문에 죽을 것이지만 그 사람이 죽은 책임은 내가 너에게 묻겠다

( When I say to a wicked man, 'You will surely die,' and you do not warn him or speak out to dissuade him from his evil ways in order to save his life, that wicked man will die for his sin, and I will hold you accountable for his blood.)

 

3:19 그러나 네가 악인을 깨우쳐 주었는데도, 그 악인이 그의 악한 행실과 그릇된 길을 버리고 돌아서지 않았다면, 그는 자신의 악행 때문에 죽을 것이다 그러나 너는 네 목숨을 보존할 것이다

( But if you do warn the wicked man and he does not turn from his wickedness or from his evil ways, he will die for his sin; but you will have saved yourself.)

 

3:20 또 만약 의인이 지금까지 걸어온 올바른 길에서 떠나서 악한 일을 할 때에는, 내가 그 앞에 올무를 놓아, 그 의인 역시 죽게 할 것이다 네가 그를 깨우쳐 주지 않으면, 그는 자기가 지은 그 죄 때문에 죽을 것이다 그리고 그가 이미 행한 의로운 행실은 하나도 기억되지 않을 것이다 그러나 그 사람이 죽은 책임은 내가 너에게 묻겠다

( "Again, when a righteous man turns from his righteousness and does evil, and I put a stumbling block before him, he will die. Since you did not warn him, he will die for his sin. The righteous things he did will not be remembered, and I will hold you accountable for his blood.)

 

3:21 그러나 의인이 범죄하지 않도록 네가 깨우쳐 주어서, 그 의인이 범죄하지 않았으면, 그는 경고를 달게 받았기 때문에 반드시 살게 되고, 너도 네 목숨을 보존할 것이다"

( But if you do warn the righteous man not to sin and he does not sin, he will surely live because he took warning, and you will have saved yourself.")

 

에스겔이 벙어리가 되다

 

3:22 거기서 주님의 능력이 내 위에 내렸다 주님께서 나에게 말씀하셨다 "일어나서 들로 나가거라 거기에서 너에게 할 말이 있다"

( The hand of the LORD was upon me there, and he said to me, "Get up and go out to the plain, and there I will speak to you.")

 

3:23 그래서 내가 일어나 들로 나가서 보니, 그 곳에는 주님의 영광이 머물러 있었는데, 전에 그발 강 가에서 보던 영광과 똑같았다 나는 땅에 엎드렸다

( So I got up and went out to the plain. And the glory of the LORD was standing there, like the glory I had seen by the Kebar River, and I fell facedown.)

 

3:24 그 때에 주님의 영이 나의 마음 속으로 들어오셔서 나를 일으켜 세우시고, 나에게 이렇게 일러주셨다 "너는 집으로 가서 문을 잠그고 집 안에 있거라

( Then the Spirit came into me and raised me to my feet. He spoke to me and said: "Go, shut yourself inside your house.)

 

3:25 너 사람아, 사람들이 너를 밧줄로 묶어 놓아서, 네가 사람들에게로 나가지 못할 것이다

( And you, son of man, they will tie with ropes; you will be bound so that you cannot go out among the people.)

 

3:26 더욱이 내가 네 혀를 입천장에 붙여 너를 말 못하는 사람으로 만들어서, 그들을 꾸짖지도 못하게 하겠다 그들은 반역하는 족속이기 때문이다

( I will make your tongue stick to the roof of your mouth so that you will be silent and unable to rebuke them, though they are a rebellious house.)

 

3:27 그러나 내가 너에게 다시 말할 때에, 네 입을 열어 줄 것이니, 너는 '주 하나님이 이렇게 말씀하신다' 하고 그들에게 말하여라 들을 사람은 들을 것이고, 듣기를 거절하는 사람은 거절할 것이다 그들은 반역하는 족속이기 때문이다"

( But when I speak to you, I will open your mouth and you shall say to them, 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says.' Whoever will listen let him listen, and whoever will refuse let him refuse; for they are a rebellious house.)

에스겔 4장

 

예루살렘이 포위될 것을 예고하시다

 

4:1 "너 사람아, 너는 이제 흙벽돌을 한 장 가져다가 네 앞에 놓고, 한 성읍 곧 예루살렘을 그 위에 새겨라

( "Now, son of man, take a clay tablet, put it in front of you and draw the city of Jerusalem on it.)

 

4:2 그 다음에 그 성읍에 포위망을 쳐라 그 성읍을 공격하는 높은 사다리를 세우고, 흙 언덕을 쌓고, 진을 치고, 성벽을 부수는 무기를 성 둘레에 설치하여라

( Then lay siege to it: Erect siege works against it, build a ramp up to it, set up camps against it and put battering rams around it.)

 

4:3 너는 또 철판을 가져다가 너와 그 성읍 사이에 철벽을 세워라 그 도성을 포위하고 지켜보아라 네가 그 도성을 포위하고 있거라 이것이 이스라엘 족속에게 보여 주는 징조다

( Then take an iron pan, place it as an iron wall between you and the city and turn your face toward it. It will be under siege, and you shall besiege it. This will be a sign to the house of Israel.)

 

4:4 너는 또 왼쪽으로 누워서, 이스라엘 족속의 죄악을 네 몸에 지고 있거라 옆으로 누워 있는 날 수만큼, 너는 그들의 죄악을 떠맡아라

( "Then lie on your left side and put the sin of the house of Israel upon yourself. You are to bear their sin for the number of days you lie on your side.)

 

4:5 나는 그들이 범죄한 햇수대로 네 날 수를 정하였다 그러니 네가 삼백구십 일 동안 이스라엘 족속의 죄악을 떠맡아야 할 것이다

( I have assigned you the same number of days as the years of their sin. So for 390 days you will bear the sin of the house of Israel.)

 

4:6 이 기간을 다 채운 다음에는, 네가 다시 오른쪽으로 누워서, 유다 족속의 죄악을 사십 일 동안 떠맡고 있거라 나는 너에게 일 년을 하루씩 계산하여 주었다

( "After you have finished this, lie down again, this time on your right side, and bear the sin of the house of Judah. I have assigned you 40 days, a day for each year.)

 

4:7 너는 이제 예루살렘의 포위망을 응시하면서, 네 팔을 걷어붙이고, 그 성읍을 심판하는 예언을 하여라

( Turn your face toward the siege of Jerusalem and with bared arm prophesy against her.)

 

4:8 내가 너를 줄로 묶어서, 네가 갇혀 있는 기한이 다 찰 때까지, 네가 몸을 이쪽 저쪽으로 돌려 눕지 못하도록 하겠다

( I will tie you up with ropes so that you cannot turn from one side to the other until you have finished the days of your siege.)

 

4:9 너는 밀과 보리와 콩과 팥과 조와 귀리를 준비하여 한 그릇에 담고, 그것으로 빵을 만들어 네가 옆으로 누워 있는 삼백구십 일 동안 내내 먹어라

( "Take wheat and barley, beans and lentils, millet and spelt; put them in a storage jar and use them to make bread for yourself. You are to eat it during the 390 days you lie on your side.)

 

4:10 너는 음식을 하루에 이십 세겔씩 달아서, 시간을 정해 놓고 먹어라

( Weigh out twenty shekels of food to eat each day and eat it at set times.)

 

4:11 물도 되어서 하루에 육분의 일 힌씩, 시간을 정해 놓고 따라 마셔라

( Also measure out a sixth of a hin of water and drink it at set times.)

 

4:12 너는 그것을 보리빵처럼 구워서 먹되, 그들이 보는 앞에서, 인분으로 불을 피워서 빵을 구워라"

( Eat the food as you would a barley cake; bake it in the sight of the people, using human excrement for fuel.")

 

4:13 주님께서 또 말씀하셨다 "내가 이스라엘 자손을 다른 민족들 속으로 내쫓으면, 그들이 거기에서 이와 같이 더러운 빵을 먹을 것이다"

( The LORD said, "In this way the people of Israel will eat defiled food among the nations where I will drive them.")

 

4:14 그래서 내가 아뢰었다 "주 하나님, 저는 이제까지 저 자신을 더럽힌 일이 없습니다 어려서부터 지금까지 저절로 죽거나 물려 죽은 짐승의 고기를 먹은 적이 없고, 부정한 고기를 제 입에 넣은 적도 없습니다"

( Then I said, "Not so, Sovereign LORD! I have never defiled myself. From my youth until now I have never eaten anything found dead or torn by wild animals. No unclean meat has ever entered my mouth.")

 

4:15 그러자 주님께서 나에게 말씀하셨다 "좋다! 그렇다면, 인분 대신에 쇠똥을 쓰도록 허락해 준다 너는 쇠똥으로 불을 피워 빵을 구워라"

( "Very well," he said, "I will let you bake your bread over cow manure instead of human excrement.")

 

4:16 주님께서 또 나에게 말씀하셨다 "사람아, 내가 예루살렘에서 사람들이 의지하는 빵을 끊어 버리겠다 그들이 빵을 달아서 걱정에 싸인 채 먹고, 물을 되어서 벌벌 떨며 마실 것이다

( He then said to me: "Son of man, I will cut off the supply of food in Jerusalem. The people will eat rationed food in anxiety and drink rationed water in despair,)

 

4:17 그들은 빵과 물이 부족하여 누구나 절망에 빠질 것이며, 마침내 자기들의 죄악 속에서 말라 죽을 것이다"

( for food and water will be scarce. They will be appalled at the sight of each other and will waste away because of their sin.)

에스겔 5장

 

머리카락과 수염을 깍는 상징 행위

 

5:1 "너 사람아, 너는 날카로운 칼을 한 자루 가져 와서, 그 칼을 삭도로 삼아 네 머리카락과 수염을 깎고, 그것을 저울로 달아 나누어 놓아라

( "Now, son of man, take a sharp sword and use it as a barber's razor to shave your head and your beard. Then take a set of scales and divide up the hair.)

 

5:2 그리고 그 성읍의 포위 기간이 끝난 다음에, 그 털의 삼분의 일을 성읍 한가운데서 불로 태우고, 또 삼분의 일은 성읍 둘레를 돌면서 칼로 내려치고, 또 삼분의 일은 바람에 날려 흩어지게 하여라 그러면 내가 칼을 빼어 들고, 그 흩어지는 것들을 뒤쫓아 가겠다

( When the days of your siege come to an end, burn a third of the hair with fire inside the city. Take a third and strike it with the sword all around the city. And scatter a third to the wind. For I will pursue them with drawn sword.)

 

5:3 그러나 너는 그것들 가운데서 조금을 남겨 두었다가 네 옷자락으로 싸매어라

( But take a few strands of hair and tuck them away in the folds of your garment.)

 

5:4 너는 또 그것들 가운데서 얼마를 꺼내서 불 한가운데 집어 던져서 살라 버려라 그 속에서 불이 나와서 온 이스라엘 족속에게 번질 것이다"

( Again, take a few of these and throw them into the fire and burn them up. A fire will spread from there to the whole house of Israel.)

 

5:5 주 하나님이 이렇게 말씀하신다 "이것이 예루살렘이다 내가 그 성읍을 이방 사람들 한가운데 두고, 나라들이 둘러 있게 하였다

( "This is what the Sovereign LORD says: This is Jerusalem, which I have set in the center of the nations, with countries all around her.)

 

5:6 그런데도 그 성읍은 다른 민족들보다 더 악하여 내 규례를 거스르고, 둘러 있는 이방 사람들보다 더 내 율례를 지키지 않았다 그들은 내 규례를 거역하고, 내 율례를 지키지 않았다

( Yet in her wickedness she has rebelled against my laws and decrees more than the nations and countries around her. She has rejected my laws and has not followed my decrees.)

 

5:7 그러므로 나 주 하나님이 이렇게 말한다 너희는 너희를 둘러 있는 이방 사람들보다 더 거스르는 사람이 되어서, 내 율례를 따르지도 않고, 내 규례를 지키지도 않고, 심지어는 너희를 둘러 있는 이방 사람들이 지키는 규례를 따라 살지도 않았다

( "Therefore this is what the Sovereign LORD says: You have been more unruly than the nations around you and have not followed my decrees or kept my laws. You have not even conformed to the standards of the nations around you.)

 

5:8 그러므로 나 주 하나님이 이렇게 말한다 내가 친히 너희를 대적하겠다 그리고 뭇 이방 사람이 보는 앞에서 내가 너희 가운데 벌을 내리겠다

( "Therefore this is what the Sovereign LORD says: I myself am against you, Jerusalem, and I will inflict punishment on you in the sight of the nations.)

 

5:9 너희의 온갖 역겨운 일들 때문에, 전에도 없었고 앞으로도 다시는 없을 그런 일을, 내가 너희 가운데서 일으키겠다

( Because of all your detestable idols, I will do to you what I have never done before and will never do again.)

 

5:10 너희 가운데서 아버지가 자식을 잡아 먹고, 자식이 아버지를 잡아 먹을 것이다 나는 너희 가운데 벌을 내리고, 너희에게 남은 사람들을 사방으로 흩어 버리겠다

( Therefore in your midst fathers will eat their children, and children will eat their fathers. I will inflict punishment on you and will scatter all your survivors to the winds.)

 

5:11 그러므로 내가 나의 삶을 두고 맹세한다 나 주 하나님의 말이다 진실로 너희가 온갖 보기 싫은 우상과 역겨운 일로 내 성소를 더럽혀 놓았기 때문에, 내가 너희를 넘어뜨리겠고, 너희를 아끼지 않겠으며, 너희를 불쌍하게 여기지도 않겠다

( Therefore as surely as I live, declares the Sovereign LORD, because you have defiled my sanctuary with all your vile images and detestable practices, I myself will withdraw my favor; I will not look on you with pity or spare you.)

 

5:12 너희 가운데서 삼분의 일은 전염병에 걸려 죽거나 굶어 죽을 것이며, 또 삼분의 일은 성읍의 둘레에서 칼에 맞아 쓰러질 것이며, 나머지 삼분의 일은 내가 사방으로 흩어 버리고, 칼을 빼어 들고 그들의 뒤를 쫓아가겠다

( A third of your people will die of the plague or perish by famine inside you; a third will fall by the sword outside your walls; and a third I will scatter to the winds and pursue with drawn sword.)

 

5:13 이렇게 나의 분을 다 쏟아야, 그들에게 품었던 분이 풀려서, 내 마음도 시원하게 될 것이다 내가 내 분을 그들에게 다 쏟을 때에, 그들은 비로소 나 주가 질투하기 때문에 그와 같이 말하였다는 것을 알게 될 것이다

( "Then my anger will cease and my wrath against them will subside, and I will be avenged. And when I have spent my wrath upon them, they will know that I the LORD have spoken in my zeal.)

 

5:14 또 내가, 둘러 있는 이방 사람 가운데서 너를 폐허 더미와 웃음거리로 만들어, 지나다니는 사람마다 너를 비웃게 하겠다

( "I will make you a ruin and a reproach among the nations around you, in the sight of all who pass by.)

 

5:15 그래서 내가 분과 노를 품고 무서운 형벌을 내리면서 너를 심판할 때에는, 너를 둘러 있는 이방 사람에게 네가 수치와 조롱을 당하고, 네가 받은 심판은 그들에게 두려움과 경고가 될 것이다 나 주가 말하였다

( You will be a reproach and a taunt, a warning and an object of horror to the nations around you when I inflict punishment on you in anger and in wrath and with stinging rebuke. I the LORD have spoken.)

 

5:16 내가 너희에게 쏘는 기근의 화살과 재난의 화살 곧 멸망시키는 화살은, 너희를 죽이려고 쏘는 것이다 나는 너희에게 기근을 더 심하게 하여, 너희가 의지하는 빵을 끊어 버리겠다

( When I shoot at you with my deadly and destructive arrows of famine, I will shoot to destroy you. I will bring more and more famine upon you and cut off your supply of food.)

 

5:17 내가 너희에게 기근과 사나운 짐승들을 보내어, 너희 자식들을 앗아가도록 하겠다 너희는 전염병과 유혈사태를 너희 한가운데서 겪을 것이다 내가 너희에게 전쟁이 들이닥치게 하겠다 나 주가 말하였다"

( I will send famine and wild beasts against you, and they will leave you childless. Plague and bloodshed will sweep through you, and I will bring the sword against you. I the LORD have spoken.")

주께서 우상숭배를 심판하시다

 

6:1 주님께서 나에게 말씀하셨다

( The word of the LORD came to me:)

 

6:2 "사람아, 너는 이스라엘의 산들을 바라보면서, 그것들에게 내릴 심판을 예언하여라

( "Son of man, set your face against the mountains of Israel; prophesy against them)

 

6:3 너는 이렇게 외쳐라 이스라엘의 산들아, 너희는 주 하나님의 말씀을 들어라 산과 언덕에게, 계곡과 골짜기에게, 주 하나님이 이렇게 말씀하신다 보아라, 내가 너희에게 전쟁이 들이닥치게 하여 너희의 산당을 없애 버리겠다

( and say: 'O mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Sovereign LORD. This is what the Sovereign LORD says to the mountains and hills, to the ravines and valleys: I am about to bring a sword against you, and I will destroy your high places.)

 

6:4 또 번제물을 바치는 너희의 제단이 폐허가 되고, 너희가 분향하는 제단이 부서질 것이다 너희 가운데서 칼에 맞아 죽은 사람들을, 너희의 우상들 앞에 던져 버리겠다

( Your altars will be demolished and your incense altars will be smashed; and I will slay your people in front of your idols.)

 

6:5 또 나는 이스라엘 백성의 시체를 가져다가 그들의 우상 앞에 놓고, 너희의 해골을 모든 제단의 둘레에 흩어 놓겠다

( I will lay the dead bodies of the Israelites in front of their idols, and I will scatter your bones around your altars.)

 

6:6 너희가 거주하는 모든 성읍마다 황무지로 변하고, 산당들도 황폐하게 될 것이다 너희의 제단들도 무너져 못쓰게 되고, 너희의 우상들이 산산조각으로 깨어져 사라지고, 너희가 분향하는 제단들이 파괴되고, 너희가 손으로 만든 것들이 모두 말끔히 없어지게 하려는 것이다

( Wherever you live, the towns will be laid waste and the high places demolished, so that your altars will be laid waste and devastated, your idols smashed and ruined, your incense altars broken down, and what you have made wiped out.)

 

6:7 너희 한가운데서는 칼에 맞아 죽은 사람들이 널려 있을 것이니, 그 때에야 비로소 너희는 내가 주인 줄 알게 될 것이다

( Your people will fall slain among you, and you will know that I am the LORD.)

 

6:8 그러나 나는 너희 가운데서 얼마를 남겨, 전쟁을 모면하게 하고 여러 나라에 흩어져 여러 민족들 사이에서 살아가게 하겠다

( "'But I will spare some, for some of you will escape the sword when you are scattered among the lands and nations.)

 

6:9 전쟁을 모면한 사람들은 포로가 되어 끌려가, 이방 사람들 속에서 살면서, 비로소 나를 기억할 것이다 그들이 음란한 마음으로 내게서 떠나갔고, 음욕을 품은 눈으로 그들의 우상들을 따라 가서, 내 마음을 상하게 하였으므로, 그들은 자기들이 저지른 악행과 그 모든 혐오스러운 일을 기억하고, 스스로 몸서리를 칠 것이다

( Then in the nations where they have been carried captive, those who escape will remember me--how I have been grieved by their adulterous hearts, which have turned away from me, and by their eyes, which have lusted after their idols. They will loathe themselves for the evil they have done and for all their detestable practices.)

 

6:10 그 때에야 그들이 비로소 내가 주인 줄 알게 될 것이다 내가 그들에게 이런 재앙을 내리겠다고 공연히 말한 것이 아님도 알게 될 것이다

( And they will know that I am the LORD; I did not threaten in vain to bring this calamity on them.)

 

6:11 나 주 하나님이 이렇게 말한다 너는 손뼉을 치고, 발을 구르면서 외쳐라 아, 이스라엘 족속이 온갖 흉악한 일을 저질렀으니, 모두 전쟁과 기근과 전염병 때문에 쓰러질 것이다

( "'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: Strike your hands together and stamp your feet and cry out "Alas!" because of all the wicked and detestable practices of the house of Israel, for they will fall by the sword, famine and plague.)

 

6:12 먼 곳에 있는 사람은 전염병에 걸려서 죽고, 가까운 곳에 있는 사람은 전쟁에서 쓰러지고, 아직도 살아 남아서 포위된 사람들은 굶어서 죽을 것이다 내가 이와 같이 나의 분노를 그들에게 모두 쏟아 놓겠다

( He that is far away will die of the plague, and he that is near will fall by the sword, and he that survives and is spared will die of famine. So will I spend my wrath upon them.)

 

6:13 그리하여 그들 가운데서 전쟁에서 죽은 시체들은 그들의 우상들 사이에서 뒹굴고, 그들의 제단들 둘레에서도 뒹굴고, 높은 언덕마다, 산 봉우리마다, 푸른 나무 밑에마다, 가지가 무성한 상수리나무 밑에마다, 자기들이 모든 우상에게 향기로운 제물을 바치던 곳에는, 어디에나 그 시체들이 뒹굴 것이다 그 때에야 비로소 내가 주인 줄, 너희가 알게 될 것이다

( And they will know that I am the LORD, when their people lie slain among their idols around their altars, on every high hill and on all the mountaintops, under every spreading tree and every leafy oak--places where they offered fragrant incense to all their idols.)

 

6:14 내가 그렇게 나의 손을 펴서 그들을 치고, 그 땅을 남쪽의 광야에서부터 북쪽의 디블라에 이르기까지, 그들이 거주하는 모든 곳을 황무지로 만들어 버리겠다 그 때에야 비로소 내가 주인 줄 그들이 알게 될 것이다"

( And I will stretch out my hand against them and make the land a desolate waste from the desert to Diblah--wherever they live. Then they will know that I am the LORD.'")
