에스겔 7장

 

이스라엘의 종말이 다가오다

 

7:1 주님께서 나에게 말씀하셨다

( The word of the LORD came to me:)

 

7:2 "너 사람아, 이스라엘에게 전하여라 나 주 하나님이 이스라엘 땅을 두고 말한다 끝이 왔다 이 땅의 사방 구석구석에 끝이 왔다

( "Son of man, this is what the Sovereign LORD says to the land of Israel: The end! The end has come upon the four corners of the land.)

 

7:3 이스라엘아, 이제는 너희에게 끝이 왔다 나는 이제 너희에게 내 분노를 쏟고, 너희 행실에 따라 너희를 심판하며, 너희의 역겨운 일들을 너희에게 보응하겠다

( The end is now upon you and I will unleash my anger against you. I will judge you according to your conduct and repay you for all your detestable practices.)

 

7:4 내가 너희를 아끼지도 않고, 불쌍히 여기지도 않겠다 오히려 나는 너희의 모든 행실에 따라 너희를 벌하여, 역겨운 일들이 바로 너희의 한가운데서 벌어지게 하겠다 그 때에야 비로소 내가 주인 줄 너희가 알게 될 것이다"

( I will not look on you with pity or spare you; I will surely repay you for your conduct and the detestable practices among you. Then you will know that I am the LORD.)

 

7:5 주 하나님이 이렇게 말씀하신다 "재앙이다 너희가 들어보지 못한 재앙이다 이미 다가왔다

( "This is what the Sovereign LORD says: Disaster! An unheard-of disaster is coming.)

 

7:6 끝이 왔다 너희를 덮치려고 일어났다 이미 다가왔다

( The end has come! The end has come! It has roused itself against you. It has come!)

 

7:7 이 땅에 사는 사람들아, 정해진 멸망이 너희에게 들이닥쳤다 그 시각이 왔고, 그 날이 다가왔다 산에서 즐겁게 환호하지 못할 당황할 날이 가까이 왔다

( Doom has come upon you--you who dwell in the land. The time has come, the day is near; there is panic, not joy, upon the mountains.)

 

7:8 나는 이제 너희에게 내 분노를, 나의 분을 너희에게 쏟아서, 너희 행실에 따라 너희를 심판하며, 너희의 역겨운 일들을 너희에게 갚아주겠다

( I am about to pour out my wrath on you and spend my anger against you; I will judge you according to your conduct and repay you for all your detestable practices.)

 

7:9 내가 너희를 아끼지도 않고, 불쌍히 여기지도 않겠다 오히려 나는 너희의 모든 행실에 따라 너희를 벌하여, 역겨운 일들이 바로 너희의 한가운데서 벌어지게 하겠다 그 때에야 비로소 주가 이렇게 치는 것임을, 너희가 알게 될 것이다

( I will not look on you with pity or spare you; I will repay you in accordance with your conduct and the detestable practices among you. Then you will know that it is I the LORD who strikes the blow.)

 

7:10 그 날이다 보아라, 들이닥쳤다 정해진 멸망이 시작되었다 매질할 몽둥이가 꽃을 피우고 교만을 꺾을 채찍이 싹터 나왔다

( "The day is here! It has come! Doom has burst forth, the rod has budded, arrogance has blossomed!)

 

7:11 폭력이 일어나서 죄악을 징벌하는 몽둥이가 되었다 이 백성 가운데서 한 사람도 남지 않고, 이 백성의 무리들 가운데서도 더 이상 남을 사람이 없고, 그들의 재물이나 그들이 가진 것들 가운데서 눈에 띌 만한 것은 하나도 남아 있지 않을 것이다

( Violence has grown into a rod to punish wickedness; none of the people will be left, none of that crowd--no wealth, nothing of value.)

 

7:12 그 시각이 왔고, 그 날이 이르고야 말았다 사는 사람도 기뻐하지 말고, 파는 사람도 슬퍼하지 말아라 이 땅의 모든 무리에게 진노가 내릴 것이기 때문이다

( The time has come, the day has arrived. Let not the buyer rejoice nor the seller grieve, for wrath is upon the whole crowd.)

 

7:13 판 사람이 아직 살아 있다 하여도, 팔린 것을 되찾으려고 돌아갈 수가 없을 것이니, 이 땅의 모든 무리에게 보여 준 묵시는 돌이킬 수가 없기 때문이다 죄를 짓고서는, 어느 누구도 자기 목숨을 굳게 부지할 수가 없다

( The seller will not recover the land he has sold as long as both of them live, for the vision concerning the whole crowd will not be reversed. Because of their sins, not one of them will preserve his life.)

 

7:14 그들이 나팔을 불고 모든 장비를 갖춘다 하여도, 전쟁에 나갈 사람이 아무도 없는 것은, 내 진노가 이 땅의 모든 무리에게 미쳤기 때문이다"

( Though they blow the trumpet and get everything ready, no one will go into battle, for my wrath is upon the whole crowd.)

 

이스라엘이 받는 형벌

 

7:15 "거리에는 전쟁이 있고, 집 안에는 전염병과 기근이 있다 들녘에 있는 사람은 칼에 찔려 죽고, 성읍 안에 있는 사람은 기근과 전염병으로 죽는다

( "Outside is the sword, inside are plague and famine; those in the country will die by the sword, and those in the city will be devoured by famine and plague.)

 

7:16 더러는 살아 남아서, 계곡에서 놀란 비둘기처럼 산으로 피하겠지만, 저지른 죄를 생각하며 슬피 울 것이다

( All who survive and escape will be in the mountains, moaning like doves of the valleys, each because of his sins.)

 

7:17 사람들은 모두 손에 맥이 풀리고, 무릎을 떨 것이다

( Every hand will go limp, and every knee will become as weak as water.)

 

7:18 굵은 베 옷을 입고, 두려워서 온 몸을 떨 것이다 모든 얼굴에는 부끄러움이 가득할 것이요, 모든 머리는 대머리가 될 것이다

( They will put on sackcloth and be clothed with terror. Their faces will be covered with shame and their heads will be shaved.)

 

7:19 그들은 은을 길거리에 내던질 것이며, 금을 오물 보듯 할 것이다 내가 진노하는 날에, 은과 금이 그들을 건져 줄 수 없을 것이다 은과 금이 그들의 마음을 흡족하게 못하고, 허기진 배를 채워 주지 못할 것이다 오히려 은과 금은 그들을 걸어서 넘어뜨려, 죄를 짓게 하였을 뿐이다

( They will throw their silver into the streets, and their gold will be an unclean thing. Their silver and gold will not be able to save them in the day of the LORD'S wrath. They will not satisfy their hunger or fill their stomachs with it, for it has made them stumble into sin.)

 

7:20 그들이 자랑하던 아름다운 보석으로, 역겹고도 보기 싫은 우상들을 만들었으므로, 내가 보석을 오물이 되게 하겠다

( They were proud of their beautiful jewelry and used it to make their detestable idols and vile images. Therefore I will turn these into an unclean thing for them.)

 

7:21 또 내가 그 보석을 외국 사람에게 넘겨 주어 약탈하게 하고, 세상의 악인들에게 넘겨 주어 약탈하고 더럽히게 하겠다

( I will hand it all over as plunder to foreigners and as loot to the wicked of the earth, and they will defile it.)

 

7:22 내가 간섭하지 않을 것이니, 외국 사람들이 나의 은밀한 성소를 더럽히고, 도둑들이 그 곳에 들어가서 약탈할 것이다

( I will turn my face away from them, and they will desecrate my treasured place; robbers will enter it and desecrate it.)

 

7:23 너는 쇠사슬을 만들어라 이 땅에 살육이 가득 차 있고, 이 도성에는 폭력이 가득 차 있기 때문이다

( "Prepare chains, because the land is full of bloodshed and the city is full of violence.)

 

7:24 나는 세상에서 가장 악한 이방 사람들을 데려다가 그들의 집들을 차지하게 하겠다 강한 사람들의 교만을 꺾고, 그들의 성소들이 모두 더럽혀지게 하겠다

( I will bring the most wicked of the nations to take possession of their houses; I will put an end to the pride of the mighty, and their sanctuaries will be desecrated.)

 

7:25 파멸이 이미 이르렀다 그들이 평안을 찾지만, 전혀 없을 것이다

( When terror comes, they will seek peace, but there will be none.)

 

7:26 재앙에 재앙이 겹치고, 불길한 기별이 꼬리를 물 것이다 그 때에는 사람들이 예언자에게 묵시를 구하여도 얻지 못할 것이며, 제사장에게는 가르쳐 줄 율법이 없어질 것이고, 장로들에게서는 지혜가 사라질 것이다

( Calamity upon calamity will come, and rumor upon rumor. They will try to get a vision from the prophet; the teaching of the law by the priest will be lost, as will the counsel of the elders.)

 

7:27 왕은 통곡하고, 지도자들은 절망에 빠지고, 이 땅의 백성은 무서워서 벌벌 떨 것이다 내가 그들의 행실대로 그들에게 갚아 주고, 그들이 심판받아야 하는 그대로 그들을 심판하겠다 그 때에야 그들이 비로소 내가 주인 줄 알게 될 것이다"

( The king will mourn, the prince will be clothed with despair, and the hands of the people of the land will tremble. I will deal with them according to their conduct, and by their own standards I will judge them. Then they will know that I am the LORD.")

에스겔 8장

 

예루살렘의 우상숭배

 

8:1 제 육년 여섯째 달 오일에 나는 집에 앉아 있고, 유다 장로들은 내 앞에 앉아 있을 때에, 주 하나님의 능력이 거기에서 나를 사로잡으셨다

( In the sixth year, in the sixth month on the fifth day, while I was sitting in my house and the elders of Judah were sitting before me, the hand of the Sovereign LORD came upon me there.)

 

8:2 내가 바라보니, 사람의 형상이 보였는데, 허리 밑으로는 모양이 불처럼 보이고, 허리 위로는 환하게 빛나는 금붙이의 광채처럼 보였다

( I looked, and I saw a figure like that of a man. From what appeared to be his waist down he was like fire, and from there up his appearance was as bright as glowing metal.)

 

8:3 그 때에 그 형상이 손처럼 생긴 것을 뻗쳐서, 내 머리채를 잡았다 하나님이 보이신 환상 속에서, 주님의 영이 나를 들어서 하늘과 땅 사이로 올리셔서, 나를 예루살렘으로 데려다가, 안뜰로 들어가는 북쪽 문 어귀에 내려 놓으셨다 그 곳은 질투를 자극시키는 질투의 우상이 자리잡고 있는 곳이다

( He stretched out what looked like a hand and took me by the hair of my head. The Spirit lifted me up between earth and heaven and in visions of God he took me to Jerusalem, to the entrance to the north gate of the inner court, where the idol that provokes to jealousy stood.)

 

8:4 이스라엘 하나님의 영광이 거기에 있는데, 내가 전에 들에서 본 환상과 같았다

( And there before me was the glory of the God of Israel, as in the vision I had seen in the plain.)

 

8:5 그 때에 하나님께서 나에게 말씀하셨다 "사람아, 너는 어서 눈을 들어 북쪽을 바라보아라" 내가 눈을 들어 북쪽을 바라보니, 문의 북쪽에 제단이 있고, 문 어귀에 바로 그 질투의 우상이 있었다

( Then he said to me, "Son of man, look toward the north." So I looked, and in the entrance north of the gate of the altar I saw this idol of jealousy.)

 

8:6 그가 또 나에게 말씀하셨다 "사람아, 이스라엘 족속이 무슨 일을 하고 있는지 보이느냐? 그들은 여기서 가장 역겨운 일을 하여, 나의 성소에서 나를 멀리 떠나가게 하고 있다 그러나 너는 더 역겨운 일들을 보게 될 것이다"

( And he said to me, "Son of man, do you see what they are doing--the utterly detestable things the house of Israel is doing here, things that will drive me far from my sanctuary? But you will see things that are even more detestable.")

 

8:7 그는 나를 이끌고, 뜰로 들어가는 어귀로 데리고 가셨다 내가 거기에서 바라보니, 담벽에 구멍이 하나 있었다

( Then he brought me to the entrance to the court. I looked, and I saw a hole in the wall.)

 

8:8 그가 나에게 말씀하셨다 "사람아, 어서 그 담벽을 헐어라" 내가 그 담벽을 헐었더니, 거기에 문이 하나 있었다

( He said to me, "Son of man, now dig into the wall." So I dug into the wall and saw a doorway there.)

 

8:9 그가 나에게 말씀하셨다 "너는 들어가서, 그들이 거기서 하고 있는 그 흉악하고 역겨운 일들을 보아라"

( And he said to me, "Go in and see the wicked and detestable things they are doing here.")

 

8:10 내가 들어가서 보니, 놀랍게도, 온갖 벌레와 불결한 짐승들과 이스라엘 족속의 모든 우상이 담벽 사면으로 돌아가며 그려져 있었다

( So I went in and looked, and I saw portrayed all over the walls all kinds of crawling things and detestable animals and all the idols of the house of Israel.)

 

8:11 그런데 이스라엘 족속의 장로들 가운데서 일흔 명이 그 우상들 앞에 서 있고, 사반의 아들 야아사냐는 그들의 한가운데 서 있었다 그들은 각각 손에 향로를 들고 있었는데, 그 향의 연기가 구름처럼 올라가고 있었다

( In front of them stood seventy elders of the house of Israel, and Jaazaniah son of Shaphan was standing among them. Each had a censer in his hand, and a fragrant cloud of incense was rising.)

 

8:12 그가 나에게 말씀하셨다 "사람아, 너는 이스라엘 족속의 장로들이 각각 자기가 섬기는 우상의 방에서, 그 컴컴한 곳에서 무슨 일을 하고 있는지 보았느냐? 그들은 '주님께서 우리를 돌보고 있지 않으시며, 주님께서 이 나라를 버리셨다'고 말하고 있다"

( He said to me, "Son of man, have you seen what the elders of the house of Israel are doing in the darkness, each at the shrine of his own idol? They say, 'The LORD does not see us; the LORD has forsaken the land.'")

 

8:13 그가 나에게 말씀하셨다 "너는, 그들이 하고 있는 더 역겨운 일을 보게 될 것이다"

( Again, he said, "You will see them doing things that are even more detestable.")

 

8:14 그리고 나서 그는 나를 주님의 성전으로 들어가는 북문 어귀로 데리고 가셨다 그런데 이것이 웬일인가! 그 곳에는 여인들이 앉아서 담무스 신을 애도하고 있지 않은가!

( Then he brought me to the entrance to the north gate of the house of the LORD, and I saw women sitting there, mourning for Tammuz.)

 

8:15 그가 나에게 말씀하셨다 "사람아, 너는 잘 보았느냐? 이것들보다 더 역겨운 일을 또 보게 될 것이다"

( He said to me, "Do you see this, son of man? You will see things that are even more detestable than this.")

 

8:16 그가 나를 주님의 성전 안뜰로 데리고 가셨는데, 주님의 성전 어귀에, 바로 그 현관과 제단 사이에 사람이 스물다섯 명이나 있었다 그들은 주님의 성전을 등지고, 얼굴을 동쪽으로 하고 서서, 동쪽 태양에게 절을 하고 있었다

( He then brought me into the inner court of the house of the LORD, and there at the entrance to the temple, between the portico and the altar, were about twenty-five men. With their backs toward the temple of the LORD and their faces toward the east, they were bowing down to the sun in the east.)

 

8:17 그가 나에게 말씀하셨다 "사람아, 네가 잘 보았느냐? 유다 족속이 여기서 하고 있는, 저렇게 역겨운 일을 작은 일이라고 하겠느냐? 그런데도 그들은 온 나라를 폭력으로 가득 채워 놓으며, 나의 분노를 터뜨리는 일을 더 하였다 그들은 나뭇가지를 자기들의 코에 갖다 대는 이교 의식까지 서슴지 않고 하였다

( He said to me, "Have you seen this, son of man? Is it a trivial matter for the house of Judah to do the detestable things they are doing here? Must they also fill the land with violence and continually provoke me to anger? Look at them putting the branch to their nose!)

 

8:18 그러므로 나도 이제는 내 분노를 쏟아서, 그들을 불쌍히 여기지도 않고, 조금도 가엾게 여기지도 않겠다 그들이 큰소리로 나에게 부르짖어도, 내가 그들의 말을 듣지 않겠다"

( Therefore I will deal with them in anger; I will not look on them with pity or spare them. Although they shout in my ears, I will not listen to them.")

에스겔 9장

 

예루살렘이 심판을 받다

 

9:1 또 그가 큰소리로 외치시는데 그 소리가 내 귀에까지 들렸다 "이 성읍을 벌할 사람들아, 각자 사람을 죽이는 무기를 손에 들고, 가까이 나오너라"

( Then I heard him call out in a loud voice, "Bring the guards of the city here, each with a weapon in his hand.")

 

9:2 그러자 여섯 사람이 북쪽으로 향한 윗문 길에서 오는데, 각자가 부수는 연장을 손에 들고 있었으며, 그들 가운데 한 사람은 모시 옷을 입고, 허리에는 서기관의 먹통을 차고 있었다 그들이 들어와서 놋으로 만든 제단 곁에 섰다

( And I saw six men coming from the direction of the upper gate, which faces north, each with a deadly weapon in his hand. With them was a man clothed in linen who had a writing kit at his side. They came in and stood beside the bronze altar.)

 

9:3 이스라엘 하나님의 영광이 이제까지 머물러 있던 그룹에서 떠올라 성전 문지방으로 옮겨갔다 그는 모시 옷을 입고 허리에 서기관의 먹통을 찬 그 사람을 부르셨다

( Now the glory of the God of Israel went up from above the cherubim, where it had been, and moved to the threshold of the temple. Then the LORD called to the man clothed in linen who had the writing kit at his side)

 

9:4 주님께서 그에게 말씀하셨다 "너는 저 성읍 가운데로 곧 예루살렘으로 두루 돌아다니면서, 그 안에서 일어나는 모든 역겨운 일 때문에 슬퍼하고 신음하는 사람들의 이마에 표를 그려 놓아라"

( and said to him, "Go throughout the city of Jerusalem and put a mark on the foreheads of those who grieve and lament over all the detestable things that are done in it.")

 

9:5 또 그는, 내가 듣는 앞에서, 다른 사람들에게 말씀하셨다 "너희는 저 사람의 뒤를 따라 성읍 가운데로 돌아다니면서 사람들을 쳐서 죽여라 불쌍히 여기지도 말고, 가엾게 여기지도 말아라

( As I listened, he said to the others, "Follow him through the city and kill, without showing pity or compassion.)

 

9:6 노인과 젊은이와 처녀와 어린 아이와 부녀들을 다 죽여 없애라 그러나 이마에 표가 있는 사람에게는 손을 대지 말아라 너희는 이제 내 성소에서부터 시작하여라" 그러자 그들은 성전 앞에 서 있던 장로들부터 죽이기 시작하였다

( Slaughter old men, young men and maidens, women and children, but do not touch anyone who has the mark. Begin at my sanctuary." So they began with the elders who were in front of the temple.)

 

9:7 그가 또 그들에게 말씀하셨다 "너희는 성전을 더럽혀라 모든 뜰을 시체로 가득 채워라 이제 나가 보아라" 그러자 그들이 성읍 가운데로 나가서, 사람들을 죽였다

( Then he said to them, "Defile the temple and fill the courts with the slain. Go!" So they went out and began killing throughout the city.)

 

9:8 살육이 계속되는 동안, 나는 혼자 거기에 있었다 나는 엎드려 얼굴을 땅에 대고, 부르짖으며 아뢰었다 "주 하나님, 예루살렘에다가 이렇듯 주님의 진노를 쏟으시다니, 이스라엘의 남은 사람들을 주님께서 친히 다 멸하실 작정입니까?"

( While they were killing and I was left alone, I fell facedown, crying out, "Ah, Sovereign LORD! Are you going to destroy the entire remnant of Israel in this outpouring of your wrath on Jerusalem?")

 

9:9 그가 나에게 말씀하셨다 "이스라엘과 유다 족속의 죄악이 너무나 크고, 땅은 피로 가득 차 있고, 이 성읍은 불법으로 꽉 차 있다 그들은 '내가 이 땅을 버렸으며, 쳐다보지도 않는다'는 말이나 하고 있다

( He answered me, "The sin of the house of Israel and Judah is exceedingly great; the land is full of bloodshed and the city is full of injustice. They say, 'The LORD has forsaken the land; the LORD does not see.')

 

9:10 그렇기 때문에 나도 그들을 불쌍히 여기지 않으며, 가엾게 여기지 않을 것이다 나는 그들의 행실을 따라서, 그들의 머리 위에 그대로 갚아 줄 뿐이다"

( So I will not look on them with pity or spare them, but I will bring down on their own heads what they have done.")

 

9:11 그런데 모시 옷을 입고 허리에 먹통을 찬 사람이 와서 보고하였다 "주님께서 저에게 명하신 대로, 제가 다 수행하였습니다"

( Then the man in linen with the writing kit at his side brought back word, saying, "I have done as you commanded.")

에스겔 10장

 

주께서 성전을 떠나시다

 

10:1 내가 보니, 그룹들의 머리 위에 있는 창공 모양의 덮개 위에 청옥과 같은 것이 있는데, 그 모양은 보좌의 형상과 비슷하였다

( I looked, and I saw the likeness of a throne of sapphire above the expanse that was over the heads of the cherubim.)

 

10:2 그 때에 주님께서 모시 옷을 입은 사람에게 이렇게 말씀하셨다 "너는 그룹들 밑에 있는 저 바퀴들 사이로 들어가서, 숯불을 두 손 가득히 움켜 쥐어서, 이 성읍 위에 뿌려라" 그러자 그 사람은, 내가 보는 앞에서 그 곳으로 들어갔다

( The LORD said to the man clothed in linen, "Go in among the wheels beneath the cherubim. Fill your hands with burning coals from among the cherubim and scatter them over the city." And as I watched, he went in.)

 

10:3 그 사람이 들어갈 때에, 그룹들은 성전의 오른쪽에 서 있고, 안뜰에는 구름이 가득 차 있었다

( Now the cherubim were standing on the south side of the temple when the man went in, and a cloud filled the inner court.)

 

10:4 그 때에 주님의 영광이 그룹들에게서 떠올라 성전 문지방으로 옮겨갔고, 성전에는 구름이 가득 차고, 안뜰은 주님의 영광에서 나오는 광채로 가득 찼다

( Then the glory of the LORD rose from above the cherubim and moved to the threshold of the temple. The cloud filled the temple, and the court was full of the radiance of the glory of the LORD.)

 

10:5 그리고 그룹들이 날개치는 소리가 바깥 뜰에까지 들리는데, 그 소리는 전능하신 하나님께서 말씀하시는 음성과 같았다

( The sound of the wings of the cherubim could be heard as far away as the outer court, like the voice of God Almighty when he speaks.)

 

10:6 주님께서 모시 옷을 입은 사람에게 명하셨다 "저 바퀴들 사이 곧 그룹들 사이에서 불을 가져 가거라" 그는 안으로 들어가서 바퀴 옆에 섰다

( When the LORD commanded the man in linen, "Take fire from among the wheels, from among the cherubim," the man went in and stood beside a wheel.)

 

10:7 그 때에 한 그룹이 자기 손을 그룹들 사이에서 내뻗어, 그룹들 사이에 있는 불을 집어서, 모시 옷을 입은 사람의 두 손에 넘겨 주니, 그는 그것을 받아 들고 바깥으로 나갔다

( Then one of the cherubim reached out his hand to the fire that was among them. He took up some of it and put it into the hands of the man in linen, who took it and went out.)

 

10:8 그룹들의 날개 밑에는 사람의 손과 같은 것이 보였다

( (Under the wings of the cherubim could be seen what looked like the hands of a man.))

 

10:9 내가 또 보니, 네 바퀴가 그룹들 곁에 있는데, 이 그룹 곁에도 바퀴가 하나 있고, 저 그룹 곁에도 바퀴가 하나 있었으며, 그 바퀴들의 모습은 빛나는 녹주석 같았다

( I looked, and I saw beside the cherubim four wheels, one beside each of the cherubim; the wheels sparkled like chrysolite.)

 

10:10 그 바퀴들의 모양은 넷이 똑같이 보여서, 마치 바퀴 안에 다른 바퀴가 있는 것과 같았다

( As for their appearance, the four of them looked alike; each was like a wheel intersecting a wheel.)

 

10:11 그들이 출발할 때에는, 네 방향으로 나아가는데, 그들이 어느 방향으로 출발하든지 돌 필요가 없었다 어느 방향이든지 그 곳으로 머리를 두면, 모두 그 뒤를 따라갔다 그래서 그들은 돌지 않고서도 어느 방향으로든지 다녔다

( As they moved, they would go in any one of the four directions the cherubim faced; the wheels did not turn about as the cherubim went. The cherubim went in whatever direction the head faced, without turning as they went.)

 

10:12 그들의 등과 손과 날개 할 것 없이, 그들의 온 몸과 네 바퀴의 온 둘레에 눈이 가득 차 있었다

( Their entire bodies, including their backs, their hands and their wings, were completely full of eyes, as were their four wheels.)

 

10:13 내가 들으니, 그 바퀴들의 이름은 '도는 것'이라고 하였다

( I heard the wheels being called "the whirling wheels.")

 

10:14 그룹마다 얼굴이 넷이 있는데, 첫째는 그룹의 얼굴이요, 둘째는 사람의 얼굴이요, 셋째는 사자의 얼굴이요, 넷째는 독수리의 얼굴이었다

( Each of the cherubim had four faces: One face was that of a cherub, the second the face of a man, the third the face of a lion, and the fourth the face of an eagle.)

 

10:15 그룹들이 치솟았다 그들은 내가 그발 강 가에서 보았던 바로 그 생물들이었다

( Then the cherubim rose upward. These were the living creatures I had seen by the Kebar River.)

 

10:16 그룹들이 나아가면 바퀴들도 그 곁에서 함께 갔고, 그룹들이 땅에서 떠올라 가려고 그들의 날개를 펼칠 때에도, 그 바퀴들이 그룹들의 곁에서 떨어져 나가지 않았다

( When the cherubim moved, the wheels beside them moved; and when the cherubim spread their wings to rise from the ground, the wheels did not leave their side.)

 

10:17 그룹들이 멈추면 바퀴들도 멈추고, 그룹들이 치솟으면 바퀴들도 그들과 함께 치솟았다 그 생물의 영이 그 바퀴들 속에 있기 때문이었다

( When the cherubim stood still, they also stood still; and when the cherubim rose, they rose with them, because the spirit of the living creatures was in them.)

 

10:18 주님의 영광이 성전 문지방을 떠나, 그룹들 위로 가서 머물렀다

( Then the glory of the LORD departed from over the threshold of the temple and stopped above the cherubim.)

 

10:19 그룹들이 내가 보는 데서 날개를 펴고 땅에서 떠올라 가는데, 그들이 떠날 때에, 바퀴들도 그들과 함께 떠났다 그룹들은 주님의 성전으로 들어가는 동문에 머무르고, 이스라엘 하나님의 영광이 그들 위에 머물렀다

( While I watched, the cherubim spread their wings and rose from the ground, and as they went, the wheels went with them. They stopped at the entrance to the east gate of the LORD'S house, and the glory of the God of Israel was above them.)

 

10:20 그들은, 내가 그발 강 가에서 환상을 보았을 때에 본 것으로, 이스라엘 하나님을 떠받들고 있던 생물들이다 나는, 그들이 그룹임을 알 수 있었다

( These were the living creatures I had seen beneath the God of Israel by the Kebar River, and I realized that they were cherubim.)

 

10:21 그룹마다 얼굴이 넷이요, 날개가 넷이었다 그리고 그들의 날개 밑에는 사람의 손과 같은 것이 있었다

( Each had four faces and four wings, and under their wings was what looked like the hands of a man.)

 

10:22 또 그들의 얼굴 형상은, 내가 그발 강 가에서 본 바로 그 얼굴이었다 그들은 각각 앞으로 곧게 나아갔다

( Their faces had the same appearance as those I had seen by the Kebar River. Each one went straight ahead.)

예루살렘이 심판받다

 

11:1 그 때에 주님의 영이 나를 들어 올리셔서, 주님의 성전 동쪽으로 난 동문으로 데리고 가셨다 그 문의 어귀에는 사람 스물다섯 명이 있었다 나는 그들 가운데 백성의 지도자들인 앗술의 아들 야아사냐와 브나야의 아들 블라댜가 있는 것을 보았다

( Then the Spirit lifted me up and brought me to the gate of the house of the LORD that faces east. There at the entrance to the gate were twenty-five men, and I saw among them Jaazaniah son of Azzur and Pelatiah son of Benaiah, leaders of the people.)

 

11:2 주님께서 나에게 말씀하셨다 "사람아, 이 사람들은 이 성읍에서 포악한 일을 꾸며 내며 악독한 일을 꾀하는 자들이다

( The LORD said to me, "Son of man, these are the men who are plotting evil and giving wicked advice in this city.)

 

11:3 그들은 모두 '집을 지을 때가 가까이 오지 않았다 이 성읍은 가마솥이고, 우리는 그 안에 담긴 고기다' 하고 말한다

( They say, 'Will it not soon be time to build houses? This city is a cooking pot, and we are the meat.')

 

11:4 그러므로 너는 그들을 규탄하여 예언하여라 사람아, 예언하여라"

( Therefore prophesy against them; prophesy, son of man.")

 

11:5 그 때에 주님의 영이 내 위에 내리셔서, 내게 말씀하셨다 "너는 이스라엘 족속에게 일러라 '나 주가 이렇게 말한다 이스라엘 족속아, 너희가 하는 말과 너희 마음 속에 품은 생각을 나는 잘 안다

( Then the Spirit of the LORD came upon me, and he told me to say: "This is what the LORD says: That is what you are saying, O house of Israel, but I know what is going through your mind.)

 

11:6 너희는 이 성읍에서 수많은 사람을 죽여서, 그 모든 거리를 시체로 가득히 채워 놓았다' 하여라

( You have killed many people in this city and filled its streets with the dead.)

 

11:7 그러므로 나 주 하나님이 할 말은 바로 이것이다 너희가 이 성읍 가운데서 죽인 시체들은 고기요, 이 성읍은 가마솥이다 그러나 나는 너희를 이 성읍에서 내쫓겠다

( "Therefore this is what the Sovereign LORD says: The bodies you have thrown there are the meat and this city is the pot, but I will drive you out of it.)

 

11:8 너희가 두려워하는 것이 칼이므로, 내가 너희에게 칼을 보내겠다 나 주 하나님의 말이다

( You fear the sword, and the sword is what I will bring against you, declares the Sovereign LORD.)

 

11:9 내가 너희를 이 성읍 가운데서 끌어내어, 타국인의 손에 넘겨 주어서, 너희에게 온갖 형벌을 내릴 것이니,

( I will drive you out of the city and hand you over to foreigners and inflict punishment on you.)

 

11:10 너희가 칼에 쓰러질 것이다 내가 너희를 이스라엘의 국경에서 심판하겠다 그 때에야 비로소 너희는, 내가 주인 줄 알게 될 것이다

( You will fall by the sword, and I will execute judgment on you at the borders of Israel. Then you will know that I am the LORD.)

 

11:11 이 성읍은 너희를 보호하는 가마솥이 되지 않을 것이며, 너희도 그 속에서 보호받는 고기가 되지 않을 것이다 내가 너희를 이스라엘의 국경에서 심판하겠다

( This city will not be a pot for you, nor will you be the meat in it; I will execute judgment on you at the borders of Israel.)

 

11:12 그 때에야 비로소 너희는, 내가 주인 줄 알게 될 것이다 너희는, 내가 정하여 둔 율례대로 생활하지 않았으며, 내가 정하여 준 규례를 지키지 않고, 오히려 너희의 주위에 있는 이방 사람들의 규례를 따라 행동하였다"

( And you will know that I am the LORD, for you have not followed my decrees or kept my laws but have conformed to the standards of the nations around you.")

 

11:13 내가 예언하는 동안에, 브나야의 아들 블라댜가 죽었다 그래서 내가 엎드려 얼굴을 땅에 대고, 큰소리로 부르짖어 아뢰었다 "주 하나님, 이스라엘의 남은 사람들마저 완전히 없애 버리려고 하십니까?"

( Now as I was prophesying, Pelatiah son of Benaiah died. Then I fell facedown and cried out in a loud voice, "Ah, Sovereign LORD! Will you completely destroy the remnant of Israel?")

 

이스라엘의 회복을 약속하시다

 

11:14 그 때에 주님께서 나에게 말씀하셨다

( The word of the LORD came to me:)

 

11:15 "사람아, 예루살렘의 주민이 네 모든 친척, 네 혈육, 이스라엘 족속 전체를 두고 하는 말이 '그들은 주님에게서 멀리 떠나 있다 이 땅은 이제 우리의 소유가 되었다' 한다

( "Son of man, your brothers--your brothers who are your blood relatives and the whole house of Israel--are those of whom the people of Jerusalem have said, 'They are far away from the LORD; this land was given to us as our possession.')

 

11:16 그러므로 너는 그들에게 일러라 '나 주 하나님이 이렇게 말한다 비록 내가 그들을 멀리 이방 사람들 가운데로 쫓아 버렸고, 여러 나라에 흩어 놓았어도, 그들이 가 있는 여러 나라에서 내가 잠시 그들의 성소가 되어 주겠다' 하여라

( "Therefore say: 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: Although I sent them far away among the nations and scattered them among the countries, yet for a little while I have been a sanctuary for them in the countries where they have gone.')

 

11:17 그러므로 너는 포로가 된 동포들에게 이르기를 '나 주 하나님이 이렇게 말한다 내가 여러 민족 속에서 너희를 모아 들이고, 너희가 흩어져 살고 있는 그 여러 나라에서 너희를 모아, 이스라엘 땅을 너희에게 주겠다' 하여라

( "Therefore say: 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: I will gather you from the nations and bring you back from the countries where you have been scattered, and I will give you back the land of Israel again.')

 

11:18 그들이 그 곳으로 가서, 그 땅의 보기 싫고 역겨운 우상들을 그 땅에서 다 없애 버릴 것이다

( "They will return to it and remove all its vile images and detestable idols.)

 

11:19 그 때에 내가 그들에게 일치된 마음을 주고, 새로운 영을 그들 속에 넣어 주겠다 내가 그들의 몸에서 돌같이 굳은 마음을 없애고, 살같이 부드러운 마음을 주겠다

( I will give them an undivided heart and put a new spirit in them; I will remove from them their heart of stone and give them a heart of flesh.)

 

11:20 그래서 그들은 나의 율례대로 생활하고, 나의 규례를 지키고 그대로 실천하여, 내 백성이 되고, 나는 그들의 하나님이 될 것이다

( Then they will follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws. They will be my people, and I will be their God.)

 

11:21 그러나 마음 속으로 보기 싫고 역겨운 우상을 따르는 사람들에게는, 내가 그들의 행실대로 그들의 머리 위에 갚아 주겠다 나 주 하나님의 말이다"

( But as for those whose hearts are devoted to their vile images and detestable idols, I will bring down on their own heads what they have done, declares the Sovereign LORD.")

 

주께서 예루살렘을 떠나시다

 

11:22 그 때에 그룹들이 날개를 펼치고, 바퀴들은 그들 곁에 있었는데, 이스라엘 하나님의 영광이 그들 위에 머물렀다

( Then the cherubim, with the wheels beside them, spread their wings, and the glory of the God of Israel was above them.)

 

11:23 그리고 주님의 영광이 그 성읍 가운데서 떠올라, 성읍 동쪽에 있는 산꼭대기에 머물렀다

( The glory of the LORD went up from within the city and stopped above the mountain east of it.)

 

11:24 주님의 영이 나를 높이 들어 올려, 하나님의 영으로 환상 가운데 나를, 바빌로니아에 포로로 끌려온 사람들에게로 데리고 오셨다 그런 다음에, 내가 본 환상이 내게서 떠나갔다

( The Spirit lifted me up and brought me to the exiles in Babylonia in the vision given by the Spirit of God. Then the vision I had seen went up from me,)

 

11:25 그래서 나는, 주님께서 내게 보여 주신 모든 일을, 포로로 끌려온 사람들에게 이야기하였다

( and I told the exiles everything the LORD had shown me.)
