에스겔 12장

 

망국에 대한 상징적인 행위

 

12:1 주님께서 나에게 말씀하셨다

( The word of the LORD came to me:)

 

12:2 "사람아, 너는 반역하는 백성 가운데 살고 있다 그들은 볼 눈이 있어도 보려고 하지 않고, 들을 귀가 있어도 들으려고 하지 않는다 그들은 반역하는 족속이기 때문이다

( "Son of man, you are living among a rebellious people. They have eyes to see but do not see and ears to hear but do not hear, for they are a rebellious people.)

 

12:3 그러므로 너 사람아, 그들이 보는 앞에서 포로로 끌려가는 사람처럼, 대낮에 짐을 싸 가지고 길을 떠나거라 그들이 보는 앞에서, 포로로 끌려가는 것처럼, 네가 살고 있는 그 곳에서 다른 곳으로 떠나가거라 그들이 반역하는 백성이기는 하지만, 혹시 그것을 보고서 깨달을 수도 있을 것이다

( "Therefore, son of man, pack your belongings for exile and in the daytime, as they watch, set out and go from where you are to another place. Perhaps they will understand, though they are a rebellious house.)

 

12:4 또 너는, 그들이 보는 앞에서, 네 짐은 포로로 끌려가는 사람의 짐처럼 대낮에 내다 놓고, 너는 저녁때에 그들이 보는 앞에서 포로로 끌려가듯 나가거라

( During the daytime, while they watch, bring out your belongings packed for exile. Then in the evening, while they are watching, go out like those who go into exile.)

 

12:5 너는, 그들이 보는 앞에서 성벽에 구멍을 뚫고, 네 짐을 그 곳으로 내다 놓아라

( While they watch, dig through the wall and take your belongings out through it.)

 

12:6 너는 그들이 보는 앞에서 어깨에 짐을 메고, 어두울 때에 나가거라 너는 얼굴을 가리고, 다시는 더 그 땅을 보지 말아라 내가 너를 이스라엘 백성에게 주는 징조로 삼았기 때문이다"

( Put them on your shoulder as they are watching and carry them out at dusk. Cover your face so that you cannot see the land, for I have made you a sign to the house of Israel.")

 

12:7 그래서 나는 명을 받은 그대로 하였다 내 짐을, 포로로 끌려가는 사람의 짐처럼, 대낮에 내다 놓았다 그리고 저녁때에 손으로 성벽에 구멍을 뚫고, 어두울 때에 나가서 그들이 보는 앞에서 어깨에 짐을 메었다

( So I did as I was commanded. During the day I brought out my things packed for exile. Then in the evening I dug through the wall with my hands. I took my belongings out at dusk, carrying them on my shoulders while they watched.)

 

12:8 이튿날 아침에 주님께서 나에게 말씀하셨다

( In the morning the word of the LORD came to me:)

 

12:9 "사람아, 저 반역하는 족속 이스라엘 족속이 '네가 지금 무슨 일을 하고 있느냐?' 하고 너에게 묻지 않았느냐?

( "Son of man, did not that rebellious house of Israel ask you, 'What are you doing?')

 

12:10 너는, 그들에게 이르기를 '주 하나님께서 이렇게 말씀하신다 이 짐은 예루살렘에서 다스리는 왕과 그 도성 가운데 사는 이스라엘 족속 전체에 대한 징조다' 하여라

( "Say to them, 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: This oracle concerns the prince in Jerusalem and the whole house of Israel who are there.')

 

12:11 너는 또 그들에게, 네가 그들의 징조라고, 네가 하는 것과 똑같은 일을 그들이 하게 될 것이라고, 그들이 추방되어 이렇게 짐을 메고 포로로 끌려갈 것이라고,

( Say to them, 'I am a sign to you.' "As I have done, so it will be done to them. They will go into exile as captives.)

 

12:12 왕도 그들과 함께 어깨에 짐을 메고, 어두울 때에 성 바깥으로 나가게 될 것이라고, 사람들이 성벽에 구멍을 뚫고, 짐을 내다 놓을 것이며, 왕은 눈으로 그 땅을 안 보려고 얼굴을 가릴 것이라고 말하여라

( "The prince among them will put his things on his shoulder at dusk and leave, and a hole will be dug in the wall for him to go through. He will cover his face so that he cannot see the land.)

 

12:13 내가 그물을 쳐서 왕을 망으로 옭아 그를 바빌로니아 백성의 땅 바빌론으로 끌어 가겠다 그러나 그는 거기에서 그 땅도 못 보고 죽을 것이다

( I will spread my net for him, and he will be caught in my snare; I will bring him to Babylonia, the land of the Chaldeans, but he will not see it, and there he will die.)

 

12:14 내가 왕의 경호원과 경호부대를 다 사방으로 흩어 버리고, 뒤에서 내가 칼을 빼어 들고 쫓아가겠다

( I will scatter to the winds all those around him--his staff and all his troops--and I will pursue them with drawn sword.)

 

12:15 내가 그들을 이방 사람들 가운데로 흩어지게 하며, 모든 나라 가운데로 쫓아 버릴 그 때에야 그들이 비로소, 내가 주인 줄을 알게 될 것이다

( "They will know that I am the LORD, when I disperse them among the nations and scatter them through the countries.)

 

12:16 그러나 나는 그들 가운데서 몇 사람을 남겨서 전쟁과 굶주림과 전염병으로 죽지 않게 하고, 그들이 이르는 이방 사람들 가운데서 자기들이 전에 저지른 역겨운 일을 모두 자백하게 할 것이다 그 때에야 비로소 그들이, 내가 주인 줄 알 것이다"

( But I will spare a few of them from the sword, famine and plague, so that in the nations where they go they may acknowledge all their detestable practices. Then they will know that I am the LORD.")

 

떨면서 먹고 마시는 상징 행위

 

12:17 주님께서 나에게 말씀하셨다

( The word of the LORD came to me:)

 

12:18 "사람아, 너는 떨면서 네 음식을 먹고, 두려움과 근심에 싸여 물을 마셔라

( "Son of man, tremble as you eat your food, and shudder in fear as you drink your water.)

 

12:19 그리고 너는 이 땅 백성에게 말하여라 나 주 하나님이 예루살렘과 이스라엘 땅의 주민이 당하게 될 일을 말한다 그들이 근심에 싸여 음식을 먹고, 놀라움에 싸여 물을 마실 것이다 이 땅의 모든 주민이 저지른 폭행 때문에, 이 땅의 풍요가 다 사라지고, 황폐하게 될 것이기 때문이다

( Say to the people of the land: 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says about those living in Jerusalem and in the land of Israel: They will eat their food in anxiety and drink their water in despair, for their land will be stripped of everything in it because of the violence of all who live there.)

 

12:20 사람들이 거주하던 성읍도 적막해지고, 땅은 황무지가 되어 버릴 것이다 그 때에야 비로소 그들이, 내가 주인 줄 알 것이다"

( The inhabited towns will be laid waste and the land will be desolate. Then you will know that I am the LORD.'")

 

속담과 예언

 

12:21 주님께서 나에게 말씀하셨다

( The word of the LORD came to me:)

 

12:22 "사람아, 이스라엘 땅에서 너희가 말하는 '세월이 이만큼 흐르는 동안, 환상으로 본 것치고 그대로 이루어진 것이 있더냐' 하는 속담이 어찌 된 일이냐?

( "Son of man, what is this proverb you have in the land of Israel: 'The days go by and every vision comes to nothing'?)

 

12:23 그러므로 너는, 그들에게 말하여라 '나 주 하나님이 말한다 내가 이 속담을 그치게 할 것이니, 이스라엘에서 다시는 이 속담을 말하지 못할 것이다' 하여라 오히려 너는 그들에게 일러라 '환상으로 본 것이 이루어질 그 날이 가까이 왔다

( Say to them, 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: I am going to put an end to this proverb, and they will no longer quote it in Israel.' Say to them, 'The days are near when every vision will be fulfilled.)

 

12:24 이스라엘 족속 가운데서 다시는 헛된 환상이나 아첨하는 점괘가 없을 것이다

( For there will be no more false visions or flattering divinations among the people of Israel.)

 

12:25 나는 주다 내가 말하는 그 말은 무엇이든지 그대로 이루어지고, 더 이상 지체하지 않을 것이다 너희 반역하는 족속아, 너희가 살아 있는 동안에 내가 말한 것을 그대로 이루겠다 나 주 하나님의 말이다'"

( But I the LORD will speak what I will, and it shall be fulfilled without delay. For in your days, you rebellious house, I will fulfill whatever I say, declares the Sovereign LORD.'")

 

12:26 주님께서 나에게 말씀하셨다

( The word of the LORD came to me:)

 

12:27 "사람아, 이스라엘 족속이 하는 말을 들어 보아라 네가 보는 환상은 먼 훗날에나 이루어질 것이며, 네가 예언하는 말은 아득히 먼 훗날을 두고 한 것이라고 한다

( "Son of man, the house of Israel is saying, 'The vision he sees is for many years from now, and he prophesies about the distant future.')

 

12:28 그러므로 너는, 그들에게 일러라 '주 하나님이 말한다 나의 모든 말은 더 지체하지 않는다 내가 한 번 말한 것은 이루어지고 만다 나 주 하나님의 말이다'"

( "Therefore say to them, 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: None of my words will be delayed any longer; whatever I say will be fulfilled, declares the Sovereign LORD.'")

에스겔 13장

 

거짓 예언자들의 종말

 

13:1 주님께서 나에게 말씀하셨다

( The word of the LORD came to me:)

 

13:2 "사람아, 너는, 예언한다고 하는 이스라엘의 예언자들을 규탄하여 예언하여라 자기들의 마음대로 예언하는 사람들에게, 나 주가 하는 말을 들으라고 하여라

( "Son of man, prophesy against the prophets of Israel who are now prophesying. Say to those who prophesy out of their own imagination: 'Hear the word of the LORD!)

 

13:3 나 주 하나님이 말한다 내가 보여 준 환상을 보지도 못하고 저희들의 생각을 따라서 예언하는, 어리석은 예언자들에게 화가 있을 것이다

( This is what the Sovereign LORD says: Woe to the foolish prophets who follow their own spirit and have seen nothing!)

 

13:4 이스라엘아, 너희 예언자들은 폐허 더미에 있는 여우와 같다

( Your prophets, O Israel, are like jackals among ruins.)

 

13:5 너희의 성벽이 무너졌는데도, 너희 예언자들은 성벽 무너진 곳에 올라가지도 않았으며, 이스라엘 족속을 위하여 주의 날에 전쟁에 대비하려고 성벽을 보수하지도 않았다

( You have not gone up to the breaks in the wall to repair it for the house of Israel so that it will stand firm in the battle on the day of the LORD.)

 

13:6 그들은 헛된 환상을 보고, 속이는 점괘를 보며, 내가 그들을 보내지도 않았는데 내가 일러준 말이라고 하면서 예언을 하고 또 그 말이 이루어지기를 기다리고 있다!

( Their visions are false and their divinations a lie. They say, "The LORD declares," when the LORD has not sent them; yet they expect their words to be fulfilled.)

 

13:7 나는 너희에게 전혀 말한 일이 없는데, 너희는 나에게 받은 말씀이라고 하면서, 헛된 환상과 속이는 점괘를 말한 것이 아니냐?

( Have you not seen false visions and uttered lying divinations when you say, "The LORD declares," though I have not spoken?)

 

13:8 그러므로 나 주 하나님이 말한다 너희가 헛된 것을 말하고 속이는 것을 보았기 때문에, 내가 너희를 치겠다 나 주 하나님의 말이다

( "'Therefore this is what the Sovereign LORD says: Because of your false words and lying visions, I am against you, declares the Sovereign LORD.)

 

13:9 헛된 환상을 보고 속이는 점괘를 말하는 그 예언자들을 내가 직접 치겠다 그들은 내 백성의 공회에 들어올 수도 없고, 이스라엘 족속의 호적에 등록될 수도 없고, 이스라엘 땅으로 들어갈 수도 없을 것이다 그 때에야 비로소 너희는, 내가 주 하나님인 줄 알게 될 것이다

( My hand will be against the prophets who see false visions and utter lying divinations. They will not belong to the council of my people or be listed in the records of the house of Israel, nor will they enter the land of Israel. Then you will know that I am the Sovereign LORD.)

 

13:10 내가 이렇게 그들을 치는 까닭은, 그들이 내 백성을 잘못 인도하였기 때문이다 무엇하나 잘 되는 것이 없는데도 잘 되어 간다고 하여 백성을 속였기 때문이다 내 백성이 담을 세우면, 그들은 그 위에 회칠이나 하는 자들이다

( "'Because they lead my people astray, saying, "Peace," when there is no peace, and because, when a flimsy wall is built, they cover it with whitewash,)

 

13:11 그러므로 너는, 회칠하는 자들에게, 그 담이 무너질 것이라고 말하여라 내가 소나기를 퍼붓고, 우박을 쏟아내리고, 폭풍을 일으킬 것이니,

( therefore tell those who cover it with whitewash that it is going to fall. Rain will come in torrents, and I will send hailstones hurtling down, and violent winds will burst forth.)

 

13:12 그 담이 무너질 때에, 그들이 발랐던 그 회칠이 다 어찌되었느냐고, 비난하여 추궁할 것이라고 하여라

( When the wall collapses, will people not ask you, "Where is the whitewash you covered it with?")

 

13:13 그러므로 나 주 하나님이 말한다 내가 분노하여 폭풍을 일으키고, 내가 진노하여 폭우를 퍼붓고, 내가 분노하여 우박을 쏟으면, 그 담이 무너질 것이다

( "'Therefore this is what the Sovereign LORD says: In my wrath I will unleash a violent wind, and in my anger hailstones and torrents of rain will fall with destructive fury.)

 

13:14 너희가 회칠한 그 담을, 내가 허물어서 땅바닥에 쓰러뜨리고, 그 기초가 드러나게 하겠다 그 담이 무너지면, 너희가 그 밑에 깔려서 죽을 것이다 그 때에야 비로소 너희는, 내가 주인 줄 알 것이다

( I will tear down the wall you have covered with whitewash and will level it to the ground so that its foundation will be laid bare. When it falls, you will be destroyed in it; and you will know that I am the LORD.)

 

13:15 내가 이렇게 그 담과 그것을 회칠한 자들에게 내 분노를 다 쏟고 나서, 너희에게 말할 것이다 '그 담은 사라졌고, 그것을 회칠한 자들도 사라졌다

( So I will spend my wrath against the wall and against those who covered it with whitewash. I will say to you, "The wall is gone and so are those who whitewashed it,)

 

13:16 예루살렘을 두고 예언한 이스라엘의 예언자들과, 전혀 평화가 없는데도 예루살렘에 대하여 평화의 환상을 본 사람들이 사라졌다' 할 것이다 나 주 하나님의 말이다"

( those prophets of Israel who prophesied to Jerusalem and saw visions of peace for her when there was no peace, declares the Sovereign LORD." ')

 

거짓 예언자들(여자)

 

13:17 "너 사람아, 네 백성 가운데서 자기들의 마음대로 예언하는 여자들을 주목해 보고, 그들을 규탄하여 예언하여라

( "Now, son of man, set your face against the daughters of your people who prophesy out of their own imagination. Prophesy against them)

 

13:18 너는 전하여라 '주 하나님이 말한다 사람의 영혼을 사냥하려고 팔목마다 부적 띠를 꿰매고, 각 사람의 키에 맞도록 너울을 만들어 머리에 씌워 주는 여자들에게 화가 있을 것이다 너희가 내 백성의 영혼을 사냥하여 죽이려고 하면서도, 자신의 영혼은 살아 남기를 바라느냐?

( and say, 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: Woe to the women who sew magic charms on all their wrists and make veils of various lengths for their heads in order to ensnare people. Will you ensnare the lives of my people but preserve your own?)

 

13:19 너희는 몇 줌의 보리와 몇 조각의 빵 때문에, 내 백성이 보는 앞에서 나를 욕되게 하였다 너희는 거짓말을 곧이 듣는 내 백성에게 거짓말을 함으로써, 죽어서는 안 될 영혼들은 죽이고 살아서는 안 될 영혼들은 살리려고 한다

( You have profaned me among my people for a few handfuls of barley and scraps of bread. By lying to my people, who listen to lies, you have killed those who should not have died and have spared those who should not live.)

 

13:20 그러므로 나 주가 말한다 새 잡듯이 사람의 영혼을 사냥하는 데 사용하는 너희의 부적 띠를, 내가 물리치겠다 내가 그것을 너희의 팔목에서 떼어 내고, 너희가 새 잡듯이 사냥한 영혼들을 풀어 놓겠다

( "'Therefore this is what the Sovereign LORD says: I am against your magic charms with which you ensnare people like birds and I will tear them from your arms; I will set free the people that you ensnare like birds.)

 

13:21 또 내가 너희의 너울을 찢어서, 너희 손에서 내 백성을 구해 내고, 그들이 다시는 너희 손에 사냥감이 되지 않게 하겠다 그 때에야 비로소 너희는, 내가 주인 줄 알 것이다

( I will tear off your veils and save my people from your hands, and they will no longer fall prey to your power. Then you will know that I am the LORD.)

 

13:22 나는 의인의 마음을 슬프게 하지 않았으나, 너희가 거짓말로 그를 괴롭혔으며, 악인의 손을 너희가 강하게 만들어 주어서, 그가 자신의 악한 길에서 돌아서서 살 길을 찾을 수 없게 하였기 때문에,

( Because you disheartened the righteous with your lies, when I had brought them no grief, and because you encouraged the wicked not to turn from their evil ways and so save their lives,)

 

13:23 너희 여자들이 다시는 헛된 환상을 못 보게 하며, 점괘를 말하지도 못하게 할 것이다 내가 내 백성을 너희 손에서 구해 낼 것이다 그 때에야 비로소 너희는, 내가 주인 줄 알 것이다'"

( therefore you will no longer see false visions or practice divination. I will save my people from your hands. And then you will know that I am the LORD.'")

에스겔 14장

 

하나님께서 우상숭배를 심판하시다

 

14:1 이스라엘의 장로들 가운데서 몇 사람이 내게로 와서, 내 앞에 앉았다

( Some of the elders of Israel came to me and sat down in front of me.)

 

14:2 그 때에 주님께서 나에게 말씀하셨다

( Then the word of the LORD came to me:)

 

14:3 "사람아, 이들은 여러 우상을 마음으로 떠받드는 사람들이며, 걸려 넘어져서 죄를 짓게 하는 올가미를 자기들 앞에 둔 사람들인데, 내가 과연 이런 사람들에게 질문을 받을 수가 있겠느냐?

( "Son of man, these men have set up idols in their hearts and put wicked stumbling blocks before their faces. Should I let them inquire of me at all?)

 

14:4 그러므로 네가 그들에게 말하고, 그들에게 일러주어라 '나 주 하나님이 말한다 이스라엘 족속 가운데서 누구든지, 우상들을 마음으로 떠받들고, 걸려 넘어져서 죄를 짓게 하는 그 올가미를 자기들 앞에 두고, 예언자에게 오면, 나 주가 직접, 그 많은 우상에 걸맞게 그에게 답변하겠다

( Therefore speak to them and tell them, 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: When any Israelite sets up idols in his heart and puts a wicked stumbling block before his face and then goes to a prophet, I the LORD will answer him myself in keeping with his great idolatry.)

 

14:5 이스라엘 족속이 모두 우상 때문에 나에게서 떠났으니, 이제는 내가 직접 그들의 마음을 사로잡겠다' 하여라

( I will do this to recapture the hearts of the people of Israel, who have all deserted me for their idols.')

 

14:6 그러므로 너는, 이스라엘 족속에게 말하여라 '나 주 하나님이 말한다 너희는 회개하여라 너희의 우상들에게서 돌아서라 너희의 모든 역겨운 것에서 얼굴을 돌려라'

( "Therefore say to the house of Israel, 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: Repent! Turn from your idols and renounce all your detestable practices!)

 

14:7 이스라엘 족속 가운데서나 이스라엘에 머무는 외국 사람들 가운데서 누구든지, 나를 떠나서 우상들을 마음으로 떠받들며, 걸려 넘어져서 죄를 짓게 하는 올가미를 자기들 앞에 두고, 예언자를 찾아와 나에게 물어 본다면, 나 주가 직접 그에게 답변하겠다

( "'When any Israelite or any alien living in Israel separates himself from me and sets up idols in his heart and puts a wicked stumbling block before his face and then goes to a prophet to inquire of me, I the LORD will answer him myself.)

 

14:8 내가 이 사람을 정면으로 보고, 그를 징표와 속담거리로 만들며, 마침내 나는 그를 내 백성 가운데서 끊어 버릴 것이다 그 때에야 비로소 너희는, 내가 주인 줄 알 것이다

( I will set my face against that man and make him an example and a byword. I will cut him off from my people. Then you will know that I am the LORD.)

 

14:9 그런데 예언자가 만약 꾀임에 빠져 어떤 말을 선포하면, 나 주가 친히 그 예언자를 꾀임에 빠지도록 버려 둘 것이다 내가 내 손을 그에게 뻗쳐, 그를 내 백성 이스라엘 가운데서 멸망시키겠다

( "'And if the prophet is enticed to utter a prophecy, I the LORD have enticed that prophet, and I will stretch out my hand against him and destroy him from among my people Israel.)

 

14:10 물어 보는 사람의 죄나 예언자의 죄가 같기 때문에, 그들이 저마다 자기의 죄값을 치를 것이다

( They will bear their guilt--the prophet will be as guilty as the one who consults him.)

 

14:11 그래서 이스라엘 족속이 다시는 나를 떠나서 길을 잃지도 않고, 다시는 온갖 죄악으로 더러워지지도 않게 하여, 그들은 나의 백성이 되고, 나는 그들의 하나님이 되게 하려는 것이다 나 주 하나님의 말이다"

( Then the people of Israel will no longer stray from me, nor will they defile themselves anymore with all their sins. They will be my people, and I will be their God, declares the Sovereign LORD.'")

 

막을 수 없는 하나님의 심판

 

14:12 주님께서 나에게 말씀하셨다

( The word of the LORD came to me:)

 

14:13 "사람아, 만약 어떤 나라가 가장 불성실하여 나에게 죄를 지으므로, 내가 그 나라 위에 손을 펴서 그들이 의지하는 양식을 끊어 버리고, 그 나라에 기근을 보내며, 그 나라에서 사람과 짐승을 사라지게 한다고 하자

( "Son of man, if a country sins against me by being unfaithful and I stretch out my hand against it to cut off its food supply and send famine upon it and kill its men and their animals,)

 

14:14 비록 그 나라 가운데 노아와 다니엘과 욥, 이 세 사람이 있다 하더라도, 그 세 사람은 자신의 의로 말미암아 자신의 목숨만 겨우 건질 것이다 나 주 하나님의 말이다

( even if these three men--Noah, Daniel and Job--were in it, they could save only themselves by their righteousness, declares the Sovereign LORD.)

 

14:15 가령 내가 그 나라에 사나운 짐승들이 돌아다니게 하여, 아이들까지 없애 버리고, 또 그 짐승들이 무서워서 그 땅에 돌아다니는 사람이 없기 때문에 그 땅이 황무지가 된다고 하자

( "Or if I send wild beasts through that country and they leave it childless and it becomes desolate so that no one can pass through it because of the beasts,)

 

14:16 내가 나의 삶을 두고 맹세하건대, 비록 이 세 사람이 그 가운데 있다 하더라도, 그들은 아들이나 딸도 건져 내지 못하고, 그들 자신만 겨우 구출할 것이며, 그 땅은 황무지가 될 것이다 나 주 하나님의 말이다

( as surely as I live, declares the Sovereign LORD, even if these three men were in it, they could not save their own sons or daughters. They alone would be saved, but the land would be desolate.)

 

14:17 가령 내가 그 나라에 전쟁의 칼이 들이닥치게 하고, 명령을 내려 '칼아, 이 땅을 돌아다니며 휘둘러라' 하여, 내가 그 땅에서 사람과 짐승을 사라지게 한다고 하자

( "Or if I bring a sword against that country and say, 'Let the sword pass throughout the land,' and I kill its men and their animals,)

 

14:18 비록 이 세 사람이 그 가운데 있다 하더라도, 내가 나의 삶을 두고 맹세하건대, 그들은 아들이나 딸도 건지지 못하고 그들 자신의 목숨만 겨우 건질 것이다 나 주 하나님의 말이다

( as surely as I live, declares the Sovereign LORD, even if these three men were in it, they could not save their own sons or daughters. They alone would be saved.)

 

14:19 가령 내가 그 땅에 전염병을 퍼뜨리고, 내 분노를 그 땅에 쏟아 부어, 거기에서 사람과 짐승이 피투성이가 되어 사라진다고 하자

( "Or if I send a plague into that land and pour out my wrath upon it through bloodshed, killing its men and their animals,)

 

14:20 비록 노아와 다니엘과 욥이 그 가운데 있을지라도, 내가 나의 삶을 두고 맹세하건대, 그들은 아들이나 딸도 건지지 못할 것이다 그들마저도 자신의 의로 말미암아 그들의 목숨만 겨우 건질 것이다 나 주 하나님의 말이다

( as surely as I live, declares the Sovereign LORD, even if Noah, Daniel and Job were in it, they could save neither son nor daughter. They would save only themselves by their righteousness.)

 

14:21 나 주 하나님이 이렇게 말한다 내가 예루살렘에서 사람과 짐승이 사라지게 하려고 나의 네 가지 맹렬한 재앙들 곧 전쟁과 기근과 사나운 짐승과 전염병을 거기에 보낼 때에, 그 해가 얼마나 크겠느냐!

( "For this is what the Sovereign LORD says: How much worse will it be when I send against Jerusalem my four dreadful judgments--sword and famine and wild beasts and plague--to kill its men and their animals!)

 

14:22 그러나 그 속에서도 재앙을 피한 사람들이 있어서 아들딸들을 데리고 나올 것이다 그들이 너희에게로 나올 때에, 너희가 그들의 그 악한 행실과 행동을 보면, 내가 예루살렘에 내린 재앙 곧 내가 그 곳에 내린 모든 것에 대하여 너희가 위로를 받을 것이다

( Yet there will be some survivors--sons and daughters who will be brought out of it. They will come to you, and when you see their conduct and their actions, you will be consoled regarding the disaster I have brought upon Jerusalem--every disaster I have brought upon it.)

 

14:23 너희가 그들의 악한 행실과 행동을 보면 너희가 위로를 받고, 내가 예루살렘에서 한 모든 일이 공연한 것이 아님을 알게 될 것이다 나 주 하나님의 말이다"

( You will be consoled when you see their conduct and their actions, for you will know that I have done nothing in it without cause, declares the Sovereign LORD.")

에스겔 15장

 

예루살렘은 타 버린 포도나무

 

15:1 주님께서 나에게 말씀하셨다

( The word of the LORD came to me:)

 

15:2 "사람아, 포도나무 곧 삼림 가운데 있는 그 덩굴이, 다른 모든 나무에 비해 나은 점이 있느냐?

( "Son of man, how is the wood of a vine better than that of a branch on any of the trees in the forest?)

 

15:3 거기에서 무슨 물건을 만들 목재가 나오느냐? 그것으로 나무 못을 만들어서 무슨 물건을 거기에다 걸어 둘 수 있느냐?

( Is wood ever taken from it to make anything useful? Do they make pegs from it to hang things on?)

 

15:4 그것은 땔감으로 불 속에나 던져 버릴 것이다 그 양쪽 끝은 타 없어졌고, 그 가운데 부분도 그을었는데, 그것이 물건을 만드는 데 무슨 소용이 있겠느냐?

( And after it is thrown on the fire as fuel and the fire burns both ends and chars the middle, is it then useful for anything?)

 

15:5 그 포도나무가 온전할 때에도 무슨 물건을 만드는 데 쓰일 수 없었거늘, 하물며 그것이 불에 타고 그을었으니, 무슨 쓸모가 더 있겠느냐?

( If it was not useful for anything when it was whole, how much less can it be made into something useful when the fire has burned it and it is charred?)

 

15:6 그러므로 나 주 하나님이 말한다 삼림 가운데 있는 포도나무를 내가 불 속에 땔감으로 던져 넣듯이, 예루살렘의 주민을 불 속에 던지겠다

( "Therefore this is what the Sovereign LORD says: As I have given the wood of the vine among the trees of the forest as fuel for the fire, so will I treat the people living in Jerusalem.)

 

15:7 내가 그들을 대적하겠다 비록 그들이 불 속에서 피하여 나온다 해도, 불이 다시 그들을 삼킬 것이다 내가 그들을 대적하면, 그 때에야 비로소 너희는, 내가 주인 줄 알 것이다.

( I will set my face against them. Although they have come out of the fire, the fire will yet consume them. And when I set my face against them, you will know that I am the LORD.)

 

15:8 그들이 크게 배신하였기 때문에, 내가 그 땅을 황무지가 되게 하겠다. 나 주 하나님의 말이다."

( I will make the land desolate because they have been unfaithful, declares the Sovereign LORD.")
