이사야 49장

 

49:1 너희 섬들아, 내가 하는 말을 들어라 너희 먼 곳에 사는 민족들아, 귀를 기울여라 주님께서 이미 모태에서부터 나를 부르셨고, 내 어머니의 태 속에서부터 내 이름을 기억하셨다

( Listen to me, you islands; hear this, you distant nations: Before I was born the LORD called me; from my birth he has made mention of my name.)

 

49:2 내 입을 날카로운 칼처럼 만드셔서, 나를 주님의 손 그늘에 숨기셨다 나를 날카로운 화살로 만드셔서, 주님의 화살통에 감추셨다

( He made my mouth like a sharpened sword, in the shadow of his hand he hid me; he made me into a polished arrow and concealed me in his quiver.)

 

49:3 주님께서 내게 말씀하셨다 "이스라엘아, 너는 내 종이다 네가 내 영광을 나타낼 것이다"

( He said to me, "You are my servant, Israel, in whom I will display my splendor.")

 

49:4 그러나 나의 생각에는, 내가 한 것이 모두 헛수고 같았고, 쓸모 없고 허무한 일에 내 힘을 허비한 것 같았다 그러나 참으로 주님께서 나를 올바로 심판하여 주셨으며, 내 하나님께서 나를 정당하게 보상하여 주셨다

( But I said, "I have labored to no purpose; I have spent my strength in vain and for nothing. Yet what is due me is in the LORD'S hand, and my reward is with my God.")

 

49:5 내가 태어나기도 전부터 주님께서는 나를 그의 종으로 삼으셨다 야곱을 주님께로 돌아오게 하시고 흩어진 이스라엘을 다시 불러모으시려고, 나를 택하셨다 그래서 나는 주님의 귀한 종이 되었고, 주님은 내 힘이 되셨다 주님께서 내게 말씀하신다

( And now the LORD says--he who formed me in the womb to be his servant to bring Jacob back to him and gather Israel to himself, for I am honored in the eyes of the LORD and my God has been my strength--)

 

49:6 주님께서 이렇게 말씀하신다 "네가 내 종이 되어서, 야곱의 지파들을 일으키고 이스라엘 가운데 살아 남은 자들을 돌아오게 하는 것은, 네게 오히려 가벼운 일이다 땅 끝까지 나의 구원이 미치게 하려고, 내가 너를 '뭇 민족의 빛'으로 삼았다"

( he says: "It is too small a thing for you to be my servant to restore the tribes of Jacob and bring back those of Israel I have kept. I will also make you a light for the Gentiles, that you may bring my salvation to the ends of the earth.")

 

49:7 이스라엘의 속량자, 거룩하신 주님께서, 남들에게 멸시를 받는 사람, 여러 민족들에게 미움을 받는 사람, 통치자들에게 종살이하는 사람에게 말씀하신다 "왕들이 너를 보고 일어나서 예를 갖출 것이며, 대신들이 또한 부복할 것이니, 이는 너를 택한 이스라엘의 거룩한 하나님, 신실한 나 주 하나님 때문이다"

( This is what the LORD says--the Redeemer and Holy One of Israel--to him who was despised and abhorred by the nation, to the servant of rulers: "Kings will see you and rise up, princes will see and bow down, because of the LORD, who is faithful, the Holy One of Israel, who has chosen you.")

 

49:8 주님께서 그의 백성에게 이렇게 말씀하신다 "너희를 구원해야 할 때가 되면, 내가 너희에게 은혜를 베풀겠고, 살려 달라고 부르짖는 날에는, 내가 그 간구를 듣고 너희를 돕겠다 내가 너희를 지키고 보호하겠으며, 너를 시켜서 뭇 백성과 언약을 맺겠다 너희가 살던 땅이 황무해졌지마는, 내가 너희를 다시 너희 땅에 정착시키겠다

( This is what the LORD says: "In the time of my favor I will answer you, and in the day of salvation I will help you; I will keep you and will make you to be a covenant for the people, to restore the land and to reassign its desolate inheritances,)

 

49:9 감옥에 갇혀 있는 죄수들에게는 '나가거라 너희는 자유인이 되었다!' 하고 말하겠고, 어둠 속에 갇혀 있는 사람들에게는 '밝은 곳으로 나오너라!' 하고 말하겠다 그들이 어디로 가든지 먹거리를 얻게 할 것이며, 메말랐던 모든 산을 그들이 먹거리를 얻는 초장이 되게 하겠다

( to say to the captives, 'Come out,' and to those in darkness, 'Be free!' "They will feed beside the roads and find pasture on every barren hill.)

 

49:10 그들은 배고프거나 목마르지 않으며, 무더위나 햇볕도 그들을 해치지 못할 것이니, 이것은 긍휼히 여기시는 분께서 그들을 이끄시기 때문이며, 샘이 솟는 곳으로 그들을 인도하시기 때문이다

( They will neither hunger nor thirst, nor will the desert heat or the sun beat upon them. He who has compassion on them will guide them and lead them beside springs of water.)

 

49:11 내가, 산에서 산으로 이어지는 큰길을 만들고, 내 백성이 자유스럽게 여행할 큰길을 닦겠다

( I will turn all my mountains into roads, and my highways will be raised up.)

 

49:12 보아라, 내 백성이 먼 곳으로부터도 오고, 또 더러는 북쪽에서도 오고, 서쪽에서도 오고, 아스완 땅에서도 올 것이다"

( See, they will come from afar--some from the north, some from the west, some from the region of Aswan.")

 

49:13 하늘아, 기뻐하여라! 땅아, 즐거워하여라! 산들아, 노랫소리를 높여라 주님께서 그의 백성을 위로하셨고, 또한 고난을 받은 그 사람들을 긍휼히 여기셨다

( Shout for joy, O heavens; rejoice, O earth; burst into song, O mountains! For the LORD comforts his people and will have compassion on his afflicted ones.)

 

49:14 그런데 시온이 말하기를 "주님께서 나를 버리셨고, 주님께서 나를 잊으셨다" 하는구나

( But Zion said, "The LORD has forsaken me, the Lord has forgotten me.")

 

49:15 "어머니가 어찌 제 젖먹이를 잊겠으며, 제 태에서 낳은 아들을 어찌 긍휼히 여기지 않겠느냐! 비록 어머니가 자식을 잊는다 하여도, 나는 절대로 너를 잊지 않겠다

( "Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you!)

 

49:16 보아라, 예루살렘아, 내가 네 이름을 내 손바닥에 새겼고, 네 성벽을 늘 지켜 보고 있다

( See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are ever before me.)

 

49:17 너를 건축할 사람들이 곧 올 것이니, 너를 파괴하는 사람과 황폐하게 하는 사람이 너를 곧 떠날 것이다

( Your sons hasten back, and those who laid you waste depart from you.)

 

49:18 네 눈을 들어 주위를 둘러보아라 네 백성이 모두 모여 너에게로 온다 나 주가 내 삶을 걸고 맹세한다 신부가 패물을 몸에 치장하고 자랑하듯, 너는 네 백성을 자랑할 것이다

( Lift up your eyes and look around; all your sons gather and come to you. As surely as I live," declares the LORD, "you will wear them all as ornaments; you will put them on, like a bride.)

 

49:19 내가 네 땅을 쳤고, 황폐하게 하였고, 파괴하였지만, 이제는 백성이 너무 많아서 네 땅이 비좁다 너를 삼키던 자들은 너에게서 멀리 떠날 것이다

( "Though you were ruined and made desolate and your land laid waste, now you will be too small for your people, and those who devoured you will be far away.)

 

49:20 한때 네가 잃은 줄로만 알았던 자녀들이 다시 네 귀에 속삭이기를 '이 곳이 너무 비좁으니, 내가 살 수 있도록 자리를 넓혀 주십시오' 할 것이다

( The children born during your bereavement will yet say in your hearing, 'This place is too small for us; give us more space to live in.')

 

49:21 그 때에 너는 마음 속으로 이르기를 '누가 나에게 이 아이들을 낳아 주었는가? 나는 자식을 잃고 더 낳을 수도 없었는데, 포로가 되어 버림을 받았는데, 누가 이 아이들을 키워 주었는가? 나 홀로 남지 않았던가! 도대체 이 아이들이 다 어디에서 왔는가?' 할 것이다"

( Then you will say in your heart, 'Who bore me these? I was bereaved and barren; I was exiled and rejected. Who brought these up? I was left all alone, but these--where have they come from?'")

 

49:22 주님께서 이렇게 말씀하신다 "내가 뭇 민족을 손짓하여 부르고, 뭇 백성에게 신호를 보낼 터이니, 그들이 네 아들을 안고 오며, 네 딸을 업고 올 것이다

( This is what the Sovereign LORD says: "See, I will beckon to the Gentiles, I will lift up my banner to the peoples; they will bring your sons in their arms and carry your daughters on their shoulders.)

 

49:23 왕들이 네 아버지처럼 될 것이며, 왕비들이 네 어머니처럼 될 것이다 그들이 얼굴을 땅에 대고 네게 엎드릴 것이며, 네 발의 먼지를 닦아 줄 것이다 그 때에 너는, 내가 주인 줄을 알 것이다 나를 믿고 기다리는 사람은 수치를 당하지 않는다"

( Kings will be your foster fathers, and their queens your nursing mothers. They will bow down before you with their faces to the ground; they will lick the dust at your feet. Then you will know that I am the LORD; those who hope in me will not be disappointed.")

 

49:24 적군에게서 전리품을 빼앗을 수 있느냐? 폭군에게서 사로잡힌 포로를 빼내 올 수 있느냐?

( Can plunder be taken from warriors, or captives rescued from the fierce?)

 

49:25 주님께서 이렇게 말씀하신다 "내가 적군에게서 포로를 빼어 오겠으며, 폭군에게서 전리품도 빼앗아 오겠다 나는 나와 맞서는 자들과 겨루고, 네 자녀들을 구원하겠다

( But this is what the LORD says: "Yes, captives will be taken from warriors, and plunder retrieved from the fierce; I will contend with those who contend with you, and your children I will save.)

 

49:26 너를 억압하는 자들로 서로 쳐죽이게 하고, 새 포도주에 취하듯이, 저희들끼리 피를 나누어 마시고 취하게 하겠다 그리고 나면, 모든 사람이, 나 주가 네 구원자요, 네 속량자요, '야곱의 전능자'임을 알게 될 것이다"

( I will make your oppressors eat their own flesh; they will be drunk on their own blood, as with wine. Then all mankind will know that I, the LORD, am your Savior, your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.")

이사야 50장

 

50:1 주님께서 이렇게 말씀하신다 "내가 너희 어머니를 쫓아내기라도 하였느냐? 내가 너희 어머니에게 써 준 이혼증서가 어디에 있느냐? 내가 너희를 채권자에게 팔아 넘기기라도 하였느냐? 이것 보아라, 너희가 팔려 간 것은 너희의 죄 때문이다 너희 어머니가 쫓겨난 것은 너희의 죄 때문이다

( This is what the LORD says: "Where is your mother's certificate of divorce with which I sent her away? Or to which of my creditors did I sell you? Because of your sins you were sold; because of your transgressions your mother was sent away.)

 

50:2 내가 왔을 때에 왜 아무도 없었으며, 내가 불렀을 때에 왜 아무도 대답하지 않았느냐? 내 손이 짧아서 너희를 속죄하지 못하겠느냐? 내게 힘이 없어서 너희를 구원하지 못하겠느냐? 내가 꾸짖어서 바다를 말리며, 강을 광야로 바꾼다 그러면, 물고기들이 물이 없어서 죽을 것이며, 썩은 고기들이 악취를 낼 것이다

( When I came, why was there no one? When I called, why was there no one to answer? Was my arm too short to ransom you? Do I lack the strength to rescue you? By a mere rebuke I dry up the sea, I turn rivers into a desert; their fish rot for lack of water and die of thirst.)

 

50:3 내가 흑암으로 하늘을 입히며, 굵은 베로 하늘을 두르겠다"

( I clothe the sky with darkness and make sackcloth its covering.")

 

50:4 주 하나님께서 나를 학자처럼 말할 수 있게 하셔서, 지친 사람을 말로 격려할 수 있게 하신다 아침마다 나를 깨우쳐 주신다 내 귀를 깨우치시어 학자처럼 알아듣게 하신다

( The Sovereign LORD has given me an instructed tongue, to know the word that sustains the weary. He wakens me morning by morning, wakens my ear to listen like one being taught.)

 

50:5 주 하나님께서 내 귀를 열어 주셨으므로, 나는 주님께 거역하지도 않았고, 등을 돌리지도 않았다

( The Sovereign LORD has opened my ears, and I have not been rebellious; I have not drawn back.)

 

50:6 나는 나를 때리는 자들에게 등을 맡겼고, 내 수염을 뽑는 자들에게 뺨을 맡겼다 내게 침을 뱉고 나를 모욕하여도 내가 그것을 피하려고 얼굴을 가리지도 않았다

( I offered my back to those who beat me, my cheeks to those who pulled out my beard; I did not hide my face from mocking and spitting.)

 

50:7 주 하나님께서 나를 도우시니, 그들이 나를 모욕하여도 마음 상하지 않았고, 오히려 내가 각오하고 모든 어려움을 견디어 냈다 내가 부끄러움을 당하지 않겠다는 것을 내가 아는 까닭은,

( Because the Sovereign LORD helps me, I will not be disgraced. Therefore have I set my face like flint, and I know I will not be put to shame.)

 

50:8 나를 의롭다 하신 분이 가까이에 계시기 때문이다 누가 감히 나와 다투겠는가! 함께 법정에 나서 보자 나를 고소할 자가 누구냐? 나를 고발할 자가 있으면 하게 하여라

( He who vindicates me is near. Who then will bring charges against me? Let us face each other! Who is my accuser? Let him confront me!)

 

50:9 주 하나님께서 나를 도와주실 것이니, 그 누가 나에게 죄가 있다 하겠느냐? 그들이 모두 옷처럼 해어지고, 좀에게 먹힐 것이다

( It is the Sovereign LORD who helps me. Who is he that will condemn me? They will all wear out like a garment; the moths will eat them up.)

 

50:10 너희 가운데 누가 주님을 경외하며, 누가 그의 종에게 순종하느냐? 어둠 속을 걷는, 빛을 모르는 사람이라도, 주님의 이름을 신뢰하며, 하나님께 의지하여라

( Who among you fears the LORD and obeys the word of his servant? Let him who walks in the dark, who has no light, trust in the name of the LORD and rely on his God.)

 

50:11 너희가 모두 불을 피우고, 횃불을 들고 나섰지만, 너희가 피운 그 불에 너희가 탈 것이며, 너희가 들고 나선 그 횃불에 너희가 소멸될 것이다 내가 직접 이 형벌을 너희에게 내리고, 너희는 이 고문을 견디어야 할 것이다

( But now, all you who light fires and provide yourselves with flaming torches, go, walk in the light of your fires and of the torches you have set ablaze. This is what you shall receive from my hand: You will lie down in torment.)

이사야 51장

 

51:1 구원을 받고자 하는 사람들아, 내가 하는 말에 귀를 기울여라 도움을 받으려고 나 주를 찾는 사람들아, 내가 하는 말을 들어라 저 바위를 보아라 너희가 거기에서 떨어져 나왔다 저 구덩이를 보아라 너희가 거기에서 나왔다

( "Listen to me, you who pursue righteousness and who seek the LORD: Look to the rock from which you were cut and to the quarry from which you were hewn;)

 

51:2 너희 조상 아브라함을 생각하여 보고, 너희를 낳아 준 사라를 생각하여 보아라 "내가 아브라함을 불렀을 때에는 자식이 없었다 그러나 내가 그에게 은혜를 내려서, 그 자손을 수없이 많게 하였다"

( look to Abraham, your father, and to Sarah, who gave you birth. When I called him he was but one, and I blessed him and made him many.)

 

51:3 주님께서 시온을 위로하신다! 그 모든 황폐한 곳을 위로하신다 주님께서 그 광야를 에덴처럼 만드시고, 그 사막을 주님의 동산처럼 만드실 때에, 그 안에 기쁨과 즐거움이 깃들며, 감사의 찬송과 기쁜 노랫소리가 깃들 것이다

( The LORD will surely comfort Zion and will look with compassion on all her ruins; he will make her deserts like Eden, her wastelands like the garden of the LORD. Joy and gladness will be found in her, thanksgiving and the sound of singing.)

 

51:4 나의 백성아, 나에게 귀를 기울여라 나의 백성아, 내 말을 귀담아 들어라 법은 나에게로부터 비롯될 것이며, 나의 의는 만백성의 빛이 될 것이다

( "Listen to me, my people; hear me, my nation: The law will go out from me; my justice will become a light to the nations.)

 

51:5 나의 의가 빠르게 다가오고 있고, 나의 구원이 이미 나타났으니, 내가 능력으로 뭇 백성을 재판하겠다 섬들이 나를 우러러 바라보며, 나의 능력을 의지할 것이다

( My righteousness draws near speedily, my salvation is on the way, and my arm will bring justice to the nations. The islands will look to me and wait in hope for my arm.)

 

51:6 눈을 들어 하늘을 쳐다보아라 그리고 땅을 내려다보아라 하늘은 연기처럼 사라지고, 땅은 옷처럼 해어지며, 거기에 사는 사람들도 하루살이 같이 죽을 것이다 그러나 내 구원은 영원하며, 내 의는 꺾이지 않을 것이다

( Lift up your eyes to the heavens, look at the earth beneath; the heavens will vanish like smoke, the earth will wear out like a garment and its inhabitants die like flies. But my salvation will last forever, my righteousness will never fail.)

 

51:7 의를 아는 사람들아, 마음 속에 내 율법을 간직한 백성들아, 내가 하는 말을 들어라 사람들이 비난하는 것을 두려워하지 말고 그들이 비방하는 것에 놀라지 말아라

( "Hear me, you who know what is right, you people who have my law in your hearts: Do not fear the reproach of men or be terrified by their insults.)

 

51:8 좀이 옷을 먹듯이 그들을 먹을 것이며, 벌레가 양털을 먹듯이 그들을 먹을 것이다 그러나 나의 의는 영원하며, 나의 구원은 세세에 미칠 것이다

( For the moth will eat them up like a garment; the worm will devour them like wool. But my righteousness will last forever, my salvation through all generations.")

 

51:9 깨어나십시오! 깨어나십시오! 힘으로 무장하십시오, 주님의 팔이여! 오래 전 옛날처럼 깨어나십시오! 라합을 토막 내시고 용을 찌르시던 바로 그 팔이 아니십니까?

( Awake, awake! Clothe yourself with strength, O arm of the LORD; awake, as in days gone by, as in generations of old. Was it not you who cut Rahab to pieces, who pierced that monster through?)

 

51:10 바다와 깊고 넓은 물을 말리시고, 바다의 깊은 곳을 길로 만드셔서, 속량받은 사람들을 건너가게 하신, 바로 그 팔이 아니십니까?

( Was it not you who dried up the sea, the waters of the great deep, who made a road in the depths of the sea so that the redeemed might cross over?)

 

51:11 주님께 속량받은 사람들이 예루살렘으로 돌아올 것입니다 그들이 기뻐 노래하며 시온에 이를 것입니다 기쁨이 그들에게 영원히 머물고, 즐거움과 기쁨이 넘칠 것이니, 슬픔과 탄식이 사라질 것입니다

( The ransomed of the LORD will return. They will enter Zion with singing; everlasting joy will crown their heads. Gladness and joy will overtake them, and sorrow and sighing will flee away.)

 

51:12 "너희를 위로하는 이는 나, 바로 내가 아니냐? 그런데 죽을 인간을 두려워하며, 한갓 풀에 지나지 않는 사람의 아들을 두려워하는, 너는 누구냐?"

( "I, even I, am he who comforts you. Who are you that you fear mortal men, the sons of men, who are but grass,)

 

51:13 너희는 잊었다 너희를 지으신 하나님, 하늘을 펴시고 땅을 세우신 주님을 잊었다 압박자들이 너희를 멸망시키려고 한다 해서, 압박자들의 그 분노가 두려워서, 너희는 날마다 떨고 있다 그러나 압박자들의 분노가 어디에 있느냐?

( that you forget the LORD your Maker, who stretched out the heavens and laid the foundations of the earth, that you live in constant terror every day because of the wrath of the oppressor, who is bent on destruction? For where is the wrath of the oppressor?)

 

51:14 갇혀 있는 포로들이 이제 곧 풀려 난다 그들은 오래오래 살 것이며, 먹거리가 모자라지도 않을 것이다

( The cowering prisoners will soon be set free; they will not die in their dungeon, nor will they lack bread.)

 

51:15 "나는 주 너의 하나님이다 바다에 물결을 일으키고, 거친 파도를 일으키는 하나님이니, 나의 이름은 만군의 주다

( For I am the LORD your God, who churns up the sea so that its waves roar--the LORD Almighty is his name.)

 

51:16 내가 나의 말을 너의 입에 맡기고, 나의 손 그늘에 너를 숨겨 준다 나는 하늘을 폈으며, 땅의 기초를 놓았고, 시온에게 '너는 나의 백성'이라고 말하였다"

( I have put my words in your mouth and covered you with the shadow of my hand--I who set the heavens in place, who laid the foundations of the earth, and who say to Zion, 'You are my people.'")

 

51:17 깨어라, 깨어라, 일어나거라, 예루살렘아! 너, 주님의 손에서 그 진노의 잔을 받아 마신 예루살렘아! 비틀거리게 하는 잔을, 네가 바닥까지 다 들이마셨다

( Awake, awake! Rise up, O Jerusalem, you who have drunk from the hand of the LORD the cup of his wrath, you who have drained to its dregs the goblet that makes men stagger.)

 

51:18 네가 낳은 모든 아들 가운데 너를 인도하여 줄 아들이 없을 것이며, 네가 기른 모든 아들 가운데 너의 손을 이끌어 줄 아들이 없을 것이다

( Of all the sons she bore there was none to guide her; of all the sons she reared there was none to take her by the hand.)

 

51:19 전쟁으로 땅은 황폐해지고 백성은 굶주려 죽었다 이 두 가지 재난이 너에게 닥쳤으나, 누가 너를 두고 슬퍼하겠느냐? 폐허와 파괴, 기근과 칼뿐이니, 누가 너를 위로하겠느냐?

( These double calamities have come upon you--who can comfort you?--ruin and destruction, famine and sword--who can console you?)

 

51:20 너의 자녀들은, 주님의 진노와 하나님의 책망을 하도 많이 받아서, 그물에 걸려 있는 영양처럼, 거리 모퉁이 모퉁이마다 쓰러져 있다

( Your sons have fainted; they lie at the head of every street, like antelope caught in a net. They are filled with the wrath of the LORD and the rebuke of your God.)

 

51:21 고통받는 자야, 마치 포도주라도 마신 듯이 비틀거리는 자야, 이 말을 들어라

( Therefore hear this, you afflicted one, made drunk, but not with wine.)

 

51:22 너의 주, 그의 백성을 지키려고 싸우는 너의 하나님 주님께서 이렇게 말씀하신다 "내가 너의 손에서, 비틀거리게 하는 그 잔 곧 나의 진노의 잔을 거두었으니, 다시는 네가 그것을 마시지 않을 것이다

( This is what your Sovereign LORD says, your God, who defends his people: "See, I have taken out of your hand the cup that made you stagger; from that cup, the goblet of my wrath, you will never drink again.)

 

51:23 이제 내가 그 잔을 너를 괴롭힌 자들의 손에 쥐어 주겠다 그들은, 바로 너에게 '엎드려라, 우리가 딛고 건너가겠다' 하고 말한 자들이다 그래서 너는 그들더러 밟고 지나가라고 땅바닥에 엎드려서 길을 만들고, 허리를 펴고 엎드려서 그들이 너의 등을 밟고 다니게 하였다"

( I will put it into the hands of your tormentors, who said to you, 'Fall prostrate that we may walk over you.' And you made your back like the ground, like a street to be walked over.")
