에스겔 29장

 

이집트에 대한 심판

 

29:1 제 십년 열째 달 십이일에 주님께서 나에게 말씀하셨다

( In the tenth year, in the tenth month on the twelfth day, the word of the LORD came to me:)

 

29:2 "사람아, 너는 이집트 왕 바로에게 예언하여라 바로와 전 이집트를 규탄하여 예언하여라

( "Son of man, set your face against Pharaoh king of Egypt and prophesy against him and against all Egypt.)

 

29:3 너는 이렇게 말하여 전하여라 '나 주 하나님이 말한다 이집트 왕 바로야, 내가 너를 치겠다 나일 강 가운데 누운 커다란 악어야, 네가 나일 강을 네 것이라고 하고 네가 만든 것이라고 한다마는,

( Speak to him and say: 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: "'I am against you, Pharaoh king of Egypt, you great monster lying among your streams. You say, "The Nile is mine; I made it for myself.")

 

29:4 내가 갈고리로 네 아가미를 꿰고, 네 강의 물고기들이 네 비늘에 달라붙게 해서, 네 비늘 속에 달라붙은 강의 모든 물고기와 함께 너를 강 한복판에서 끌어내서,

( But I will put hooks in your jaws and make the fish of your streams stick to your scales. I will pull you out from among your streams, with all the fish sticking to your scales.)

 

29:5 너와 물고기를 다 함께 멀리 사막에다 던져 버릴 것이니, 너는 허허벌판에 나둥그러질 것이다 내가 너를 들짐승과 공중의 새에게 먹이로 주었으니, 다시는 너를 주워 오거나 거두어 오는 사람이 없을 것이다

( I will leave you in the desert, you and all the fish of your streams. You will fall on the open field and not be gathered or picked up. I will give you as food to the beasts of the earth and the birds of the air.)

 

29:6 그 때에야 비로소 이집트에 사는 모든 사람이, 내가 주인 줄 알게 될 것이다 너는 이스라엘 족속을 속이는 갈대 지팡이밖에 되지 못하였다

( Then all who live in Egypt will know that I am the LORD. "'You have been a staff of reed for the house of Israel.)

 

29:7 이스라엘 족속이 손으로 너를 붙잡으면, 너는 갈라지면서 오히려 그들의 어깨를 찢었다 너를 의지하면, 너는 부러지면서 그들이 몸도 못 가누고 비틀거리게 하였다

( When they grasped you with their hands, you splintered and you tore open their shoulders; when they leaned on you, you broke and their backs were wrenched.)

 

29:8 그러므로 나 주 하나님이 말한다 내가 칼을 가져다가 너를 치겠다 사람과 짐승을 너에게서 멸절시키겠다

( "'Therefore this is what the Sovereign LORD says: I will bring a sword against you and kill your men and their animals.)

 

29:9 그러면 이집트 땅이 황폐한 땅 곧 황무지가 될 것이니, 그 때에야 비로소 그들이, 내가 주인 줄 알 것이다 네가 말하기를 나일 강은 네 것이고, 네가 만들었다고 하였으니,

( Egypt will become a desolate wasteland. Then they will know that I am the LORD. "'Because you said, "The Nile is mine; I made it,")

 

29:10 내가 너와 네 강을 쳐서, 이집트 땅을 믹돌에서부터 수에네까지와, 에티오피아의 국경선에 이르기까지, 황폐한 땅 곧 황무지로 만들어 버리겠다

( therefore I am against you and against your streams, and I will make the land of Egypt a ruin and a desolate waste from Migdol to Aswan, as far as the border of Cush.)

 

29:11 그 땅에는 사람의 발길도 끊어지고, 짐승들까지도 그 땅으로는 지나다니지 않을 것이다 그래서 사십 년 동안, 사는 사람이 없을 것이다

( No foot of man or animal will pass through it; no one will live there for forty years.)

 

29:12 내가 이집트 땅을 황폐한 땅 가운데서도 가장 황폐한 땅으로 만들겠고, 이집트의 성읍들도 사십 년 동안은, 황폐한 성읍 가운데서도 가장 황폐한 성읍으로 만들어 버리겠다 나는 이집트 사람들을 여러 민족 속에 흩어 놓고, 여러 나라 속에 헤쳐 놓겠다

( I will make the land of Egypt desolate among devastated lands, and her cities will lie desolate forty years among ruined cities. And I will disperse the Egyptians among the nations and scatter them through the countries.)

 

29:13 나 주 하나님이 말한다 사십 년이 지나면, 여러 민족 속에 흩어져 있는 이집트 사람을, 내가 다시 이집트 땅으로 모아들이겠다

( "'Yet this is what the Sovereign LORD says: At the end of forty years I will gather the Egyptians from the nations where they were scattered.)

 

29:14 내가 포로가 된 사람들을 이집트로 돌아가게 하여, 그들의 고향 땅 곧 상 이집트 땅으로 내가 그들을 데려다 놓겠다 그들은 거기에서 힘없는 나라밖에 되지 못할 것이다

( I will bring them back from captivity and return them to Upper Egypt, the land of their ancestry. There they will be a lowly kingdom.)

 

29:15 나라들 가운데서 가장 힘없는 나라가 되어서, 다시는 다른 민족들보다 높아지지 못할 것이다 내가 그들을 작게 만들어서, 그들이 다른 백성들을 다스릴 수 없게 하겠다

( It will be the lowliest of kingdoms and will never again exalt itself above the other nations. I will make it so weak that it will never again rule over the nations.)

 

29:16 이집트는 다시는 이스라엘 족속이 의지할 나라가 되지 못할 것이다 이스라엘은 이집트가 당한 것을 보고서, 이집트에 의지하려 한 것이 얼마나 잘못된 것이었는가를 상기하고, 그 때에야 비로소 그들이, 내가 주 하나님인 줄 알 것이다'"

( Egypt will no longer be a source of confidence for the people of Israel but will be a reminder of their sin in turning to her for help. Then they will know that I am the Sovereign LORD.'")

 

느부갓네살이 이집트를 정복할 것이다

 

29:17 제 이십칠년 첫째 달 초하루에 주님께서 나에게 말씀하셨다

( In the twenty-seventh year, in the first month on the first day, the word of the LORD came to me:)

 

29:18 "사람아, 바빌로니아의 느부갓네살이 두로를 공격하려고 큰 군대를 동원하였다 그러나 무리한 작전으로 그의 군인들은 머리털이 다 빠져서 대머리가 되고, 어깨가 벗겨지기까지 하였으나, 그와 그의 군대가 두로를 치려고 애쓴 수고에 대한 보상을 두로에서 받지 못하였다

( "Son of man, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon drove his army in a hard campaign against Tyre; every head was rubbed bare and every shoulder made raw. Yet he and his army got no reward from the campaign he led against Tyre.)

 

29:19 그러므로 나 주 하나님이 말한다 내가 바빌로니아 왕 느부갓네살에게 이집트 땅을 주겠다 그가 이집트에서 물건을 가져가고, 이집트를 약탈하고 노략할 터이니, 그것이 그의 군대에게 주는 보수가 될 것이다

( Therefore this is what the Sovereign LORD says: I am going to give Egypt to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and he will carry off its wealth. He will loot and plunder the land as pay for his army.)

 

29:20 그들이 수고한 것은 나를 도와서 한 것이었으므로, 내가 그 보수로 이집트 땅을 바빌론 왕에게 주었다 나 주 하나님의 말이다

( I have given him Egypt as a reward for his efforts because he and his army did it for me, declares the Sovereign LORD.)

 

29:21 그 날이 오면, 내가 이스라엘이 새 힘을 가지게 하고, 너의 입이 열려서 그들 한가운데서 외칠 수 있도록 말할 수 있는 능력을 네게 주겠다 그 때에야 비로소 그들이, 내가 주인 줄 알 것이다"

( "On that day I will make a horn grow for the house of Israel, and I will open your mouth among them. Then they will know that I am the LORD.")

에스겔 30장

 

주께서 이집트를 심판하실 것이다

 

30:1 주님께서 내게 말씀하셨다

( The word of the LORD came to me:)

 

30:2 "사람아, 예언하여 전하여라 '나 주 하나님이 말한다 너희는 오늘 슬퍼하고 통곡하여라

( "Son of man, prophesy and say: 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: "'Wail and say, "Alas for that day!")

 

30:3 그 날이 가까이 왔다 주의 날이 가까이 왔다 어둡게 구름이 낀 날, 여러 민족이 멸망하는 그 때가 왔다

( For the day is near, the day of the LORD is near--a day of clouds, a time of doom for the nations.)

 

30:4 이집트에 전쟁이 휘몰아치고, 에티오피아는 큰 고통을 당할 것이다 이집트에서 많은 사람이 칼에 쓰러지고 재산을 약탈당할 때에, 이집트는 그 기초가 파괴될 것이다

( A sword will come against Egypt, and anguish will come upon Cush. When the slain fall in Egypt, her wealth will be carried away and her foundations torn down.)

 

30:5 에티오피아와 리비아와 리디아와, 아라비아와 굽과 모든 동맹국의 백성들이 이집트 사람들과 함께 칼에 쓰러질 것이다

( Cush and Put, Lydia and all Arabia, Libya and the people of the covenant land will fall by the sword along with Egypt.)

 

30:6 나 주가 말한다 이집트를 지지하는 사람들이 쓰러질 것이며, 이집트의 거만하던 권세가 꺾일 것이고, 믹돌에서부터 수에네에 이르기까지, 사람들이 칼에 쓰러질 것이다 나 주 하나님의 말이다

( "'This is what the LORD says: "'The allies of Egypt will fall and her proud strength will fail. From Migdol to Aswan they will fall by the sword within her, declares the Sovereign LORD.)

 

30:7 이집트는 황폐한 땅 가운데서도 가장 황폐한 땅이 될 것이며, 이집트의 성읍들도 황폐한 성읍들 가운데서도 가장 황폐한 성읍이 될 것이다

( "'They will be desolate among desolate lands, and their cities will lie among ruined cities.)

 

30:8 내가 이집트에 불을 지르고 그 돕는 자들을 멸절시키면, 그 때에야 비로소 그들이, 내가 주인 줄 알 것이다

( Then they will know that I am the LORD, when I set fire to Egypt and all her helpers are crushed.)

 

30:9 그 날이 오면, 내가 보낸 사자들이 배를 타고 가서, 안심하고 있는 에티오피아 사람들을 놀라게 할 것이다 이집트가 고통을 받는 바로 그 날에, 에티오피아 사람들이 고통을 당할 것이다 정말 그 일이 닥쳐오고 있다

( "'On that day messengers will go out from me in ships to frighten Cush out of her complacency. Anguish will take hold of them on the day of Egypt's doom, for it is sure to come.)

 

30:10 나 주 하나님이 말한다 내가 바빌로니아 왕 느부갓네살을 보내어 이집트의 무리를 없애 버리겠다

( "'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: "'I will put an end to the hordes of Egypt by the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon.)

 

30:11 그 나라를 멸망시키려고, 그가 민족들 가운데서도 가장 잔인한 군대를 이끌고 갈 것이다 그들이 칼을 뽑아 이집트를 쳐서, 칼에 찔려 죽은 사람들을 그 땅에 가득 채울 것이다

( He and his army--the most ruthless of nations--will be brought in to destroy the land. They will draw their swords against Egypt and fill the land with the slain.)

 

30:12 내가 강을 마르게 하고, 그 땅을 악한 사람들의 손에 팔아 넘기고, 그 땅과 그 안에 풍성한 것을 다른 나라 사람이 황폐하게 만들게 하겠다 나 주가 말하였다

( I will dry up the streams of the Nile and sell the land to evil men; by the hand of foreigners I will lay waste the land and everything in it. I the LORD have spoken.)

 

30:13 나 주 하나님이 말한다 내가 우상들을 멸절시키며, 멤피스에서 신상들을 없애 버리겠다 이집트 땅에 다시는 지도자가 나지 않을 것이다 내가 이집트 땅을 공포에 사로잡히게 하겠다

( "'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: "'I will destroy the idols and put an end to the images in Memphis. No longer will there be a prince in Egypt, and I will spread fear throughout the land.)

 

30:14 내가 상 이집트 땅을 황무지로 만들어 버리고, 소안에 불을 지르고, 테베를 심판하겠다

( I will lay waste Upper Egypt, set fire to Zoan and inflict punishment on Thebes.)

 

30:15 또 내가 이집트의 요새인 펠루시움에 내 분노를 쏟아 붓고, 테베의 무리들을 멸하겠다

( I will pour out my wrath on Pelusium, the stronghold of Egypt, and cut off the hordes of Thebes.)

 

30:16 내가 이집트에 불을 지르면 펠루시움의 요새가 고통으로 몸부림칠 것이고, 테베는 적에게 뚫릴 것이며, 멤피스에는 날마다 적들이 쳐들어갈 것이다

( I will set fire to Egypt; Pelusium will writhe in agony. Thebes will be taken by storm; Memphis will be in constant distress.)

 

30:17 헬리오폴리스와 부바스티스의 젊은이들은 칼에 쓰러질 것이며, 주민은 포로로 끌려갈 것이다

( The young men of Heliopolis and Bubastis will fall by the sword, and the cities themselves will go into captivity.)

 

30:18 내가 이집트의 권세를 꺾어 버릴 때에, 드합느헤스는 대낮에 캄캄해질 것이다 그 교만하던 권세를 끝장낼 때에, 이집트 땅은 구름에 뒤덮일 것이고, 이집트의 딸들은 포로로 끌려갈 것이다

( Dark will be the day at Tahpanhes when I break the yoke of Egypt; there her proud strength will come to an end. She will be covered with clouds, and her villages will go into captivity.)

 

30:19 내가 이렇게 이집트를 심판할 때에야 비로소 그들은 내가 주인 줄 알게 될 것이다'"

( So I will inflict punishment on Egypt, and they will know that I am the LORD.'")

 

이집트 왕의 부러진 팔

 

30:20 제 십일년 첫째 달 칠일에 주님께서 나에게 말씀하셨다

( In the eleventh year, in the first month on the seventh day, the word of the LORD came to me:)

 

30:21 "사람아, 내가 이집트 왕 바로의 한쪽 팔을 부러뜨렸다 치료하고 싸매야 그 팔이 나아서 칼을 잡을 수 있을 터인데, 치료도 못하고 싸매지도 못하고 약도 못 바르고 붕대를 감지도 못하였으니, 그가 칼을 쥘 수 없다

( "Son of man, I have broken the arm of Pharaoh king of Egypt. It has not been bound up for healing or put in a splint so as to become strong enough to hold a sword.)

 

30:22 그러므로 나 주 하나님이 말한다 내가 이집트 왕 바로를 대적하여, 성한 팔마저 부러뜨려 두 팔을 다 못 쓰게 하고서, 그가 칼을 잡을 수 없게 하겠다

( Therefore this is what the Sovereign LORD says: I am against Pharaoh king of Egypt. I will break both his arms, the good arm as well as the broken one, and make the sword fall from his hand.)

 

30:23 내가 이집트 사람들을 여러 민족 가운데 흩어 놓고, 여러 나라로 헤쳐 놓겠다

( I will disperse the Egyptians among the nations and scatter them through the countries.)

 

30:24 내가 바빌로니아 왕의 두 팔을 강하게 하고, 내 칼을 그의 손에 쥐어 주겠지만, 바로의 두 팔은 부러뜨릴 터이니, 바로가 바빌로니아 왕 앞에서, 칼에 찔린 사람처럼 크게 신음할 것이다

( I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon and put my sword in his hand, but I will break the arms of Pharaoh, and he will groan before him like a mortally wounded man.)

 

30:25 내가 바빌로니아 왕의 두 팔을 강하게 하면, 바로의 두 팔은 떨어져 나갈 것이다 내가 바빌로니아 왕의 손에 내 칼을 쥐어 주고, 그가 그 칼을 뽑아서 이집트 땅을 칠 때에야, 비로소 그들은 내가 주인 줄 알 것이다

( I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon, but the arms of Pharaoh will fall limp. Then they will know that I am the LORD, when I put my sword into the hand of the king of Babylon and he brandishes it against Egypt.)

 

30:26 내가 이집트 사람들을 여러 민족 가운데 흩어 놓고, 그들을 뭇 나라로 헤쳐 놓겠다 그 때에야 비로소 그들은, 내가 주인 줄 알 것이다"

( I will disperse the Egyptians among the nations and scatter them through the countries. Then they will know that I am the LORD.")

에스겔 31장

 

한 때 백향목 같았던 이집트

 

31:1 제 십일년 셋째 달 초하루에 주님께서 내게 말씀하셨다

( In the eleventh year, in the third month on the first day, the word of the LORD came to me:)

 

31:2 "사람아, 너는 이집트 왕 바로와 그의 무리에게 이렇게 전하여라 '너의 위엄찬 모습을 누구와 비할 수 있겠느냐?

( "Son of man, say to Pharaoh king of Egypt and to his hordes: "'Who can be compared with you in majesty?)

 

31:3 앗시리아는 한 때 레바논의 백향목이었다 그 가지가 아름답고, 그 그늘도 숲의 그늘과 같았다 그 나무의 키가 크고, 그 꼭대기는 구름 속으로 뻗어 있었다

( Consider Assyria, once a cedar in Lebanon, with beautiful branches overshadowing the forest; it towered on high, its top above the thick foliage.)

 

31:4 너는 물을 넉넉히 먹고 큰 나무가 되었다 깊은 물줄기에서 물을 빨며 크게 자랐다 네가 서 있는 사방으로는 강물이 흐르고, 개울물이 흘러, 들의 모든 나무가 물을 마셨다

( The waters nourished it, deep springs made it grow tall; their streams flowed all around its base and sent their channels to all the trees of the field.)

 

31:5 너는 들의 모든 나무보다 더 높게 자랐다 흐르는 물이 넉넉하여 굵은 가지도 무수하게 많아지고, 가는 가지도 길게 뻗어 나갔다

( So it towered higher than all the trees of the field; its boughs increased and its branches grew long, spreading because of abundant waters.)

 

31:6 너의 큰 가지 속에서는 공중의 모든 새가 보금자리를 만들고, 가는 가지 밑에서는 들의 모든 짐승이 새끼를 낳고, 그 나무의 그늘 밑에서는 모든 큰 민족이 자리잡고 살았다

( All the birds of the air nested in its boughs, all the beasts of the field gave birth under its branches; all the great nations lived in its shade.)

 

31:7 네가 크게 자라서 아름다워지고, 그 가지들이 길게 자라 뻗친 것은, 네가 물 많은 곳에 뿌리를 내렸기 때문이다

( It was majestic in beauty, with its spreading boughs, for its roots went down to abundant waters.)

 

31:8 하나님의 동산에 있는 백향목들도 너에 비하면 아무것도 아니다 잣나무들도 네 굵은 가지들과는 비교가 되지 않고, 단풍나무들도 네 가는 가지들만 못하다 하나님의 동산에 있는 어떤 나무도 너처럼 아름답지는 못하였다

( The cedars in the garden of God could not rival it, nor could the pine trees equal its boughs, nor could the plane trees compare with its branches--no tree in the garden of God could match its beauty.)

 

31:9 내가 네 가지들을 많게 하고, 너를 아름답게 키웠더니 하나님의 동산에 있는 에덴의 나무들이 모두 너를 부러워하였다

( I made it beautiful with abundant branches, the envy of all the trees of Eden in the garden of God.)

 

31:10 그러므로 나 주 하나님이 말한다 그 나무의 키가 커지고, 그 꼭대기가 구름 속으로 뻗치면서, 키가 커졌다고 해서, 그 나무의 마음이 교만해졌다

( "'Therefore this is what the Sovereign LORD says: Because it towered on high, lifting its top above the thick foliage, and because it was proud of its height,)

 

31:11 그러므로 나는 그 나무를 민족들의 통치자에게 넘겨 주고, 그는 그 나무가 저지른 악에 맞는 마땅한 벌을 내릴 것이다 나는 그 나무를 내버렸다

( I handed it over to the ruler of the nations, for him to deal with according to its wickedness. I cast it aside,)

 

31:12 그래서 뭇 민족 가운데서 잔인한 다른 백성들이 그 나무를 베어서 버렸다 그 가는 가지들은 산과 모든 골짜기에 쓰러져 있고, 굵은 가지들은 그 땅의 모든 시냇물 가에 부러져 있고, 세상의 모든 백성이 그 나무의 그늘에서 도망쳐 버렸다 사람들이 이렇게 그 나무를 떠나 버렸다

( and the most ruthless of foreign nations cut it down and left it. Its boughs fell on the mountains and in all the valleys; its branches lay broken in all the ravines of the land. All the nations of the earth came out from under its shade and left it.)

 

31:13 그 쓰러진 나무 위에 공중의 모든 새가 살고, 그 나무의 가지 사이에서는 들의 모든 짐승이 산다

( All the birds of the air settled on the fallen tree, and all the beasts of the field were among its branches.)

 

31:14 그것은 물가의 나무들이 다시는 키 때문에 교만하지 못하게 하며, 그 꼭대기가 구름 속으로 치솟아 오르지도 못하게 하며, 물을 빨아들이는 모든 나무가 자신의 교만에 머물지 못하게 한 것이었다 그것들은 모두 죽음에 넘겨져서, 지하로 내려가고, 깊은 구덩이로 내려가는 사람들 속에 들어 있게 하였기 때문이다

( Therefore no other trees by the waters are ever to tower proudly on high, lifting their tops above the thick foliage. No other trees so well-watered are ever to reach such a height; they are all destined for death, for the earth below, among mortal men, with those who go down to the pit.)

 

31:15 나 주 하나님이 말한다 그 나무가 스올로 내려갈 때에, 내가 지하수를 말리고, 강물을 막고, 흐르는 큰 물을 모두 멈추게 하겠다 또 내가 레바논 산으로는 그 나무를 애도하여 통곡하게 하겠고, 온 누리의 모든 나무는 그 나무를 애도하여 시들어 죽게 하겠다

( "'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: On the day it was brought down to the grave I covered the deep springs with mourning for it; I held back its streams, and its abundant waters were restrained. Because of it I clothed Lebanon with gloom, and all the trees of the field withered away.)

 

31:16 내가 그 나무를 스올로 내려 보낼 때에는, 깊은 구덩이로 내려가는 사람들과 함께 그 나무를 그리로 보낼 것이니, 그 나무가 스올로 떨어지는 큰소리를 듣고서, 뭇 민족이 벌벌 떨 것이다 이미 스올에 가 있는 에덴의 모든 나무와, 물을 흠뻑 먹으며 자란 레바논 산의 가장 좋은 나무들이, 그 나무가 이렇게 심판을 받는 것을 보고는, 스올에서 큰 위로를 받을 것이다

( I made the nations tremble at the sound of its fall when I brought it down to the grave with those who go down to the pit. Then all the trees of Eden, the choicest and best of Lebanon, all the trees that were well-watered, were consoled in the earth below.)

 

31:17 나무들도 그 나무와 함께 스올로 내려가서, 이미 거기에 먼저 와 있던 나무들, 곧 칼에 찔려서 살해된 자들, 살아 생전에 그 나무의 그늘 밑에서 살다가 스올로 들어온 자들에게로 갈 것이다

( Those who lived in its shade, its allies among the nations, had also gone down to the grave with it, joining those killed by the sword.)

 

31:18 에덴의 나무들 가운데서 어떤 나무가 너처럼 화려하고 컸더냐? 그러나 너도 이제는 에덴의 나무들과 함께 스올로 끌려가서, 할례받지 못한 사람들 가운데 섞여, 칼에 찔려 죽은 사람들과 함께 누울 것이다 바로와 그의 백성 모두가 이렇게 될 것이다 나 주 하나님의 말이다'"

( "'Which of the trees of Eden can be compared with you in splendor and majesty? Yet you, too, will be brought down with the trees of Eden to the earth below; you will lie among the uncircumcised, with those killed by the sword. "'This is Pharaoh and all his hordes, declares the Sovereign LORD.'")

악어와 같았던 이집트

 

32:1 제 십이년 열두째 달 초하루에, 주님께서 나에게 말씀하셨다

( In the twelfth year, in the twelfth month on the first day, the word of the LORD came to me:)

 

32:2 "사람아, 너는 이집트 왕 바로를 두고 애가를 불러라 너는 그에게 알려 주어라 '너는 스스로 네가 만방의 사자라고 생각하지만, 너는 나일 강 속에 있는 악어이다 뾰족한 코로 강물을 흩뿌리고 발로 강물을 휘저으면서 강물을 더럽혔다

( "Son of man, take up a lament concerning Pharaoh king of Egypt and say to him: "'You are like a lion among the nations; you are like a monster in the seas thrashing about in your streams, churning the water with your feet and muddying the streams.)

 

32:3 그러므로 나 주 하나님이 말한다 내가 많은 백성을 불러와서, 그들이 보는 앞에서 그물을 던져 너를 잡고, 예인망으로 너를 끌어올려서,

( "'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: "'With a great throng of people I will cast my net over you, and they will haul you up in my net.)

 

32:4 땅바닥에 내던지고 들판에 내동댕이치겠다 공중의 새를 데려다가 네 몸 위에 내려앉게 하며, 온 땅의 들짐승들이 너를 뜯어먹고 배부르게 하겠다

( I will throw you on the land and hurl you on the open field. I will let all the birds of the air settle on you and all the beasts of the earth gorge themselves on you.)

 

32:5 너의 살점을 이산 저산에 흩어 놓으면 골짜기마다 네 시체로 가득 찰 것이다

( I will spread your flesh on the mountains and fill the valleys with your remains.)

 

32:6 내가 네 피로 땅을 적시고, 산꼭대기까지 적실 것이니, 시내마다 네 피가 철철 넘쳐 흐를 것이다

( I will drench the land with your flowing blood all the way to the mountains, and the ravines will be filled with your flesh.)

 

32:7 내가 네 빛을 꺼지게 할 때에, 하늘을 가려 별들을 어둡게 하고, 구름으로 태양을 가리고, 달도 빛을 내지 못하게 하겠다

( When I snuff you out, I will cover the heavens and darken their stars; I will cover the sun with a cloud, and the moon will not give its light.)

 

32:8 하늘에서 빛나는 광채들을 모두 어둡게 하고, 네 땅을 어둠으로 뒤덮어 놓겠다 나 주 하나님의 말이다

( All the shining lights in the heavens I will darken over you; I will bring darkness over your land, declares the Sovereign LORD.)

 

32:9 네가 망했다는 소식을 내가 뭇 민족에게 알리면, 뭇 민족이 네가 알지도 못하던 그 나라들이 네가 망했다는 소식을 듣고, 불안에 떨 것이다

( I will trouble the hearts of many peoples when I bring about your destruction among the nations, among lands you have not known.)

 

32:10 많은 백성이 보는 앞에서 내가 칼을 휘둘러 너를 치면, 그들은 소스라쳐 놀라고, 또 내가 그들의 왕 앞에서 나의 칼을 휘둘러 너를 치면, 네가 받은 형벌을 보고 모두 벌벌 떨 것이며, 네가 쓰러지는 그 날에는, 왕들마다 목숨을 잃을까봐 떨 것이다

( I will cause many peoples to be appalled at you, and their kings will shudder with horror because of you when I brandish my sword before them. On the day of your downfall each of them will tremble every moment for his life.)

 

32:11 나 주 하나님이 말한다 바빌로니아 왕의 칼이 네게 미칠 것이다

( "'For this is what the Sovereign LORD says: "'The sword of the king of Babylon will come against you.)

 

32:12 내가 용사들의 칼로 너의 무리를 쓰러뜨리겠다 그들은 뭇 민족 가운데서 가장 잔인한 사람들이다 이집트가 자랑하던 것을 그들이 박살내며, 이집트의 온 무리를 그들이 멸망시킬 것이다

( I will cause your hordes to fall by the swords of mighty men--the most ruthless of all nations. They will shatter the pride of Egypt, and all her hordes will be overthrown.)

 

32:13 내가 그 큰 물 가에서 모든 짐승을 없애 버리면, 다시는 사람의 발이 그 물을 흐리게 하지 못하고, 짐승의 발굽도 그 물을 흐리게 하지 못할 것이다

( I will destroy all her cattle from beside abundant waters no longer to be stirred by the foot of man or muddied by the hoofs of cattle.)

 

32:14 그리고 나서 내가 그 강물을 맑게 하여, 모든 강물이 기름처럼 흐르게 하겠다 나 주 하나님의 말이다

( Then I will let her waters settle and make her streams flow like oil, declares the Sovereign LORD.)

 

32:15 내가 이집트 땅을 황무지로 만들면, 그래서 그 땅에 가득 찬 풍요가 사라지면, 내가 그 땅에 사는 모든 사람을 치면, 그 때에야 비로소 그들이, 내가 주인 줄 알 것이다

( When I make Egypt desolate and strip the land of everything in it, when I strike down all who live there, then they will know that I am the LORD.')

 

32:16 이것이 그들이 부를 애가다 여러 민족의 딸들이 이것을 애가로 부를 것이다 그들은 이것을 이집트와 그 나라의 온 무리를 애도하는 조가로 부를 것이다 나 주 하나님의 말이다'"

( "This is the lament they will chant for her. The daughters of the nations will chant it; for Egypt and all her hordes they will chant it, declares the Sovereign LORD.")

 

죽은 자들의 세계

 

32:17 제 십이년 첫째 달 십오일에 주님께서 나에게 말씀하셨다

( In the twelfth year, on the fifteenth day of the month, the word of the LORD came to me:)

 

32:18 "사람아, 너는 이집트의 무리를 애도하여 슬피 울고, 이집트와 열강의 딸들을, 깊은 구덩이로 내려가는 사람들과 함께, 지하로 보내면서 일러라

( "Son of man, wail for the hordes of Egypt and consign to the earth below both her and the daughters of mighty nations, with those who go down to the pit.)

 

32:19 도대체 네가 누구보다 더 아름답다는 거냐? 너는 아래로 내려가서 할례받지 못한 자들과 함께 누워라' 하여라

( Say to them, 'Are you more favored than others? Go down and be laid among the uncircumcised.')

 

32:20 그들은 칼에 찔려 죽은 사람들 한가운데로 떨어질 것이다 칼이 이미 이집트의 목을 겨누고 있으니, 이집트와 그의 온 군대를 지하로 내려보내라

( They will fall among those killed by the sword. The sword is drawn; let her be dragged off with all her hordes.)

 

32:21 그러면 스올에 있는 강한 용사들이 부하들과 함께 바로의 무리에게 이르기를 '저 할례받지 못한 자들이, 저 칼에 찔려 죽은 자들이, 이 곳 아래로 떨어져 눕는다' 할 것이다

( From within the grave the mighty leaders will say of Egypt and her allies, 'They have come down and they lie with the uncircumcised, with those killed by the sword.')

 

32:22 그 곳에는 앗시리아가 묻혀 있고, 그의 군대가 함께 묻혀 있다 사방에 그들의 무덤이 있다 그들은 모두 칼에 찔려 죽은 전사자들이요, 칼에 쓰러진 자들이다

( "Assyria is there with her whole army; she is surrounded by the graves of all her slain, all who have fallen by the sword.)

 

32:23 앗시리아의 무덤은 구덩이의 가장 깊은 밑바닥에 마련되었고, 그 무덤의 둘레에는 앗시리아의 군대가 묻혀 있는데, 그들은 모두가 칼을 맞고 쓰러진 자들로서, 칼에 찔려 죽은 전사자들, 살아 있는 사람들의 세상에서 사람들에게 겁을 주던 자들이다

( Their graves are in the depths of the pit and her army lies around her grave. All who had spread terror in the land of the living are slain, fallen by the sword.)

 

32:24 그 곳에는 엘람이 묻혀 있고, 그 무덤 둘레에는 엘람의 온 군대가 묻혀 있다 그들은 모두가 칼을 맞고 쓰러진 자들, 칼에 찔려 죽은 전사자들이다 그들은 할례를 받지 못한 자들로서, 지하에 내려갔다 그들은 살아 있는 사람들의 세상에서 사람들에게 겁을 주던 자들이었으나, 이제는 깊은 구덩이로 내려간 자들과 함께 자신들의 수치를 뒤집어쓰고 있다

( "Elam is there, with all her hordes around her grave. All of them are slain, fallen by the sword. All who had spread terror in the land of the living went down uncircumcised to the earth below. They bear their shame with those who go down to the pit.)

 

32:25 엘람의 침상은 칼에 찔려 죽은 전사자들 한가운데 놓여 있고, 그 무덤의 둘레에는 엘람의 군대가 모두 묻혀 있다 그들은 모두 할례를 받지 못한 자들이요, 칼에 찔려 죽은 전사자들이요, 살아 있는 사람들의 세상에서 사람들에게 겁을 주던 자들이었으나, 이제는 깊은 구덩이로 내려간 자들과 함께 자신들의 수치를 뒤집어쓰고 있다 이제는 칼에 찔려 죽은 전사자들과 함께 누워 있다

( A bed is made for her among the slain, with all her hordes around her grave. All of them are uncircumcised, killed by the sword. Because their terror had spread in the land of the living, they bear their shame with those who go down to the pit; they are laid among the slain.)

 

32:26 그 곳에는 메섹과 두발이 묻혀 있고, 그 무덤의 둘레에는 그들의 군대가 모두 묻혀 있다 그들은 모두 할례를 받지 못한 자들이요, 칼에 찔려 죽은 전사자들이요, 살아 있는 사람들의 세상에서 사람들에게 겁을 주던 자들이었다

( "Meshech and Tubal are there, with all their hordes around their graves. All of them are uncircumcised, killed by the sword because they spread their terror in the land of the living.)

 

32:27 그러나 그들은, 전쟁 무기를 가지고 스올로 내려가 칼을 베개로 삼아 베고 방패를 이불로 삼아 덮고 자는 고대의 전몰 용사들과 함께 눕지는 못하였다 그들은 살아 있는 사람들의 세상에서는 사람들에게 겁을 주던 자들이었다

( Do they not lie with the other uncircumcised warriors who have fallen, who went down to the grave with their weapons of war, whose swords were placed under their heads? The punishment for their sins rested on their bones, though the terror of these warriors had stalked through the land of the living.)

 

32:28 이제 너 이집트는 패망하여, 칼에 찔려 죽은 자들과 함께, 할례를 받지 못하고 죽은 자들과 함께 누울 것이다

( "You too, O Pharaoh, will be broken and will lie among the uncircumcised, with those killed by the sword.)

 

32:29 그 곳에는 에돔 곧 에돔의 왕들과 그 모든 지도자가 묻혀 있다 그들은 용맹스러웠으나, 지금은 칼에 찔려 죽은 전사자들과 함께 누워 있고, 할례를 받지 못하고 무덤으로 내려간 자들과 함께 누워 있다

( "Edom is there, her kings and all her princes; despite their power, they are laid with those killed by the sword. They lie with the uncircumcised, with those who go down to the pit.)

 

32:30 그 곳에는 북쪽의 모든 우두머리와 모든 시돈 사람이 묻혀 있다 그들은 칼에 찔려 죽은 전사자들과 함께 지하로 떨어졌다 그들이 세상에서는 두려움을 떨치고 힘을 자랑하였으나, 이제는 수치를 당하게 되고, 할례를 받지 못하고 죽은 자들, 칼에 찔려 죽은 전사자들과 함께 누워 있고, 깊은 구덩이로 내려간 사람들과 함께 수치를 뒤집어쓰고 있다

( "All the princes of the north and all the Sidonians are there; they went down with the slain in disgrace despite the terror caused by their power. They lie uncircumcised with those killed by the sword and bear their shame with those who go down to the pit.)

 

32:31 바로와 그의 온 군대가 칼에 찔려 죽었지만, 지하에 내려가서, 이미 거기에 와 있는 군대를 모두 보고서는, 그들이 위로를 받을 것이다 나 주 하나님의 말이다

( "Pharaoh--he and all his army--will see them and he will be consoled for all his hordes that were killed by the sword, declares the Sovereign LORD.)

 

32:32 살아 있는 사람들의 세상에서 바로가 사람들에게 겁을 준 것은, 사실은, 내가 그렇게 하도록 시킨 것이다 그러나 이제는 바로가 자기의 모든 군대와 함께 할례받지 못한 자들과 섞여, 칼에 찔려 죽은 전사자들과 함께 무덤에 눕게 될 것이다 나 주 하나님의 말이다"

( Although I had him spread terror in the land of the living, Pharaoh and all his hordes will be laid among the uncircumcised, with those killed by the sword, declares the Sovereign LORD.")
