에스겔 33장

 

하나님이 에스겔을 파수꾼으로 세우시다;겔3:16-21

 

33:1 주님께서 나에게 말씀하셨다

( The word of the LORD came to me:)

 

33:2 "사람아, 너는 네 민족의 자손 모두에게 전하여라 너는 그들에게 말하여라 만일 내가 어떤 나라에 전쟁이 이르게 할 때에, 그 나라 백성이 자기들 가운데서 한 사람을 뽑아서, 파수꾼으로 세웠다고 하자

( "Son of man, speak to your countrymen and say to them: 'When I bring the sword against a land, and the people of the land choose one of their men and make him their watchman,)

 

33:3 이 파수꾼은 자기 나라로 적군이 접근하여 오는 것을 보고 나팔을 불어, 자기 백성에게 경고를 하였는데도

( and he sees the sword coming against the land and blows the trumpet to warn the people,)

 

33:4 어떤 사람이 그 나팔 소리를 분명히 듣고서도 경고를 무시해서, 적군이 이르러 그를 덮치면, 그가 죽은 것은 자기 탓이다

( then if anyone hears the trumpet but does not take warning and the sword comes and takes his life, his blood will be on his own head.)

 

33:5 그는 나팔 소리를 듣고서도 그 경고를 무시하였으니, 죽어도 자기 탓인 것이다 그러나 파수꾼의 나팔 소리를 듣고서 경고를 받아들인 사람은 자기의 목숨을 건질 것이다

( Since he heard the sound of the trumpet but did not take warning, his blood will be on his own head. If he had taken warning, he would have saved himself.)

 

33:6 그러나 만일 그 파수꾼이, 적군이 가까이 오는 것을 보고서도 나팔을 불지 않아서, 그 백성이 경고를 받지 못하고, 적군이 이르러 그들 가운데 어떤 사람을 덮쳤다면, 죽은 사람은 자신의 죄 때문에 죽은 것이지만, 그 사람이 죽은 책임은 내가 파수꾼에게 묻겠다

( But if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet to warn the people and the sword comes and takes the life of one of them, that man will be taken away because of his sin, but I will hold the watchman accountable for his blood.')

 

33:7 너 사람아, 내가 너를 이스라엘 족속의 파수꾼으로 세웠다 그러므로 너는 내가 하는 말을 듣고, 나를 대신하여 그들에게 경고하여라

( "Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel; so hear the word I speak and give them warning from me.)

 

33:8 내가 악인에게 말하기를 '너는 반드시 죽을 것이다' 하였는데도, 네가 그 악인에게 말하여 그가 악한 길을 버리고 떠나도록 경고하지 않으면, 그 악인은 자신의 죄가 있어서 죽을 것이지만, 그 사람이 죽은 책임은 내가 너에게 묻겠다

( When I say to the wicked, 'O wicked man, you will surely die,' and you do not speak out to dissuade him from his ways, that wicked man will die for his sin, and I will hold you accountable for his blood.)

 

33:9 네가 악인에게, 그의 길에서 떠나서 거기에서 돌이키도록 경고하였는데도, 그가 자신의 길에서 돌이키지 않으면, 그는 자신의 죄 때문에 죽지만, 너는 목숨을 보존할 것이다"

( But if you do warn the wicked man to turn from his ways and he does not do so, he will die for his sin, but you will have saved yourself.)

 

개인의 책임

 

33:10 "그러므로 너 사람아, 너는 이스라엘 족속에게 전하여라 그들이 말하기를 '우리의 온갖 허물과 우리의 모든 죄악이 우리를 짓눌러서, 우리가 그 속에서 기진하여 죽어 가고 있는데, 어떻게 우리가 살 수 있겠는가?' 하였다

( "Son of man, say to the house of Israel, 'This is what you are saying: "Our offenses and sins weigh us down, and we are wasting away because of them. How then can we live?" ')

 

33:11 너는 그들에게 전하여라 '나 주 하나님의 말이다 내가 내 삶을 두고 맹세한다 나는, 악인이 죽는 것을 기뻐하지 않고, 오히려 악인이 그의 길에서 돌이켜 떠나 사는 것을 기뻐한다 너희는 돌이켜라 너희는 그 악한 길에서 돌이켜 떠나거라 이스라엘 족속아, 너희는 왜 죽으려고 하느냐?' 하여라

( Say to them, 'As surely as I live, declares the Sovereign LORD, I take no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but rather that they turn from their ways and live. Turn! Turn from your evil ways! Why will you die, O house of Israel?')

 

33:12 너 사람아, 네 민족의 자손 모두에게 전하여라 의인이라고 해도 죄를 짓는 날에는 과거의 의가 그를 구원하지 못하고, 악인이라고 해도 자신의 죄악에서 떠나 돌이키는 날에는 과거의 악이 그를 넘어뜨리지 못한다고 하여라 그러므로 의인도 범죄하는 날에는 과거에 의로웠다는 것 때문에 살 수는 없다

( "Therefore, son of man, say to your countrymen, 'The righteousness of the righteous man will not save him when he disobeys, and the wickedness of the wicked man will not cause him to fall when he turns from it. The righteous man, if he sins, will not be allowed to live because of his former righteousness.')

 

33:13 내가 의인에게 말하기를 '그는 반드시 살 것이다' 하였어도, 그가 자신의 의를 믿고 악한 일을 하면, 그가 행한 모든 의로운 행위를 내가 전혀 기억하지 않을 것이다 그는 그가 범한 바로 그 죄 때문에 죽을 것이다

( If I tell the righteous man that he will surely live, but then he trusts in his righteousness and does evil, none of the righteous things he has done will be remembered; he will die for the evil he has done.)

 

33:14 그러나 내가 악인에게 말하기를 '너는 반드시 죽을 것이다' 하였어도, 그가 자기의 죄에서 떠나 돌이켜서, 법과 의를 행하여,

( And if I say to the wicked man, 'You will surely die,' but he then turns away from his sin and does what is just and right--)

 

33:15 전당물을 돌려 주고, 탈취한 물건을 보상하여 주며, 생명으로 인도하는 규정들을 따라 살아, 악한 일을 하지 않으면, 그는 죽지 않고 반드시 살 것이다

( if he gives back what he took in pledge for a loan, returns what he has stolen, follows the decrees that give life, and does no evil, he will surely live; he will not die.)

 

33:16 그가 저지른 모든 죄악을 내가 기억하지 않을 것이다 그는 법과 의를 따라서 사는 사람이니, 반드시 살 것이다

( None of the sins he has committed will be remembered against him. He has done what is just and right; he will surely live.)

 

33:17 그런데도 네 민족 모두가 '주님께서는 하시는 일이 공평하지 못하다!' 하고 말한다 그러나 공평하지 못한 것은 오히려 너희가 하는 일이다

( "Yet your countrymen say, 'The way of the Lord is not just.' But it is their way that is not just.)

 

33:18 의인이 의로운 행실을 버리고 돌아서서 악한 일을 하면, 그것 때문에 그는 죽을 것이다

( If a righteous man turns from his righteousness and does evil, he will die for it.)

 

33:19 그러나 악인도 자신이 저지른 죄악에서 떠나, 돌이켜 법과 의를 따라서 살면, 그것 때문에 그는 살 것이다

( And if a wicked man turns away from his wickedness and does what is just and right, he will live by doing so.)

 

33:20 그런데도 너희는 '주님께서 하시는 일이 공평하지 못하다' 하고 말한다 이스라엘 족속아, 나는 너희 각 사람이 한 일에 따라서 너희를 심판하겠다"

( Yet, O house of Israel, you say, 'The way of the Lord is not just.' But I will judge each of you according to his own ways.")

 

예루살렘의 함락 소식

 

33:21 우리가 포로로 잡혀 온 지 십이년째가 되는 해의 열째 달 오일에, 예루살렘에서 도망하여 온 사람이 내게로 와서, 그 성읍이 함락되었다고 말하였다

( In the twelfth year of our exile, in the tenth month on the fifth day, a man who had escaped from Jerusalem came to me and said, "The city has fallen!")

 

33:22 도망하여 온 그 사람이 오기 전날 저녁에, 주님의 권능이 나를 사로잡아서, 나의 입을 열어 주셨다 그 사람이 아침에 나에게로 올 즈음에는 내 입이 열려 있었으므로, 나는 이제 말을 못하는 사람이 아니다

( Now the evening before the man arrived, the hand of the LORD was upon me, and he opened my mouth before the man came to me in the morning. So my mouth was opened and I was no longer silent.)

 

백성의 죄

 

33:23 주님께서 나에게 말씀하셨다

( Then the word of the LORD came to me:)

 

33:24 "사람아, 이스라엘 땅의 저 폐허 더미에 사는 사람들이 이런 말을 하고 있다 '아브라함은 한 개인인데도 이 땅을 차지하였는데, 하물며 수가 많은 우리들이야 더 말해 무엇하겠느냐?' 한다 또 하나님께서 이 땅을 자기들의 소유로 주었다고 말한다

( "Son of man, the people living in those ruins in the land of Israel are saying, 'Abraham was only one man, yet he possessed the land. But we are many; surely the land has been given to us as our possession.')

 

33:25 그러므로 너는 그들에게 전하여라 '나 주 하나님이 말한다 너희는 피를 빼지 않은 고기를 먹고, 온갖 우상에게 눈을 팔고, 사람들이 피를 흘리게 하였다 그러면서도 너희가 그 땅을 차지하려고 하느냐?

( Therefore say to them, 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: Since you eat meat with the blood still in it and look to your idols and shed blood, should you then possess the land?)

 

33:26 너희는 칼을 의지하였고, 역겨운 일을 저질렀다 너희는 서로 이웃 사람의 아내를 더럽혀 놓았다 그러면서도 너희가 그 땅을 차지하려고 하느냐?'

( You rely on your sword, you do detestable things, and each of you defiles his neighbor's wife. Should you then possess the land?')

 

33:27 너는 그들에게 또 전하여라 '나 주 하나님이 말한다 내가 나의 삶을 두고 맹세한다 폐허 더미 속에 있는 사람들은 칼에 쓰러질 것이요, 들판에 있는 사람들은, 내가 들짐승들에게 잡혀 먹도록 하겠으며, 산성과 동굴에 있는 사람들은 전염병에 걸려서 죽게 하겠다

( "Say this to them: 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: As surely as I live, those who are left in the ruins will fall by the sword, those out in the country I will give to the wild animals to be devoured, and those in strongholds and caves will die of a plague.)

 

33:28 내가 그 땅을 황무지와 폐허로 만들어 놓으면, 그 거만하던 권세도 끝장이 날 것이고, 이스라엘의 모든 산은 메말라서, 사람이 얼씬도 하지 않을 것이다

( I will make the land a desolate waste, and her proud strength will come to an end, and the mountains of Israel will become desolate so that no one will cross them.)

 

33:29 그들이 저지른 그 모든 역겨운 일 때문에, 내가 그 땅을 황무지와 폐허로 만들어 놓으면, 그 때에야 비로소 그들이, 내가 주인 줄 알게 될 것이다'"

( Then they will know that I am the LORD, when I have made the land a desolate waste because of all the detestable things they have done.')

 

예언자의 말

 

33:30 "너 사람아, 네 민족의 자손 모두가 담 밑이나 집 문간에서 네 이야기를 하며, 자기들끼리 서로 말하기를 '어서 가서, 주님께서 그에게 무슨 말씀을 하셨는지 들어나 보자' 하면서,

( "As for you, son of man, your countrymen are talking together about you by the walls and at the doors of the houses, saying to each other, 'Come and hear the message that has come from the LORD.')

 

33:31 마치 호기심 많은 사람들이 무슨 구경거리를 보러 오듯이 너에게 올 것이다 그러나 그들은, 네가 하는 말을 듣기만 할 뿐, 그 말에 복종하지는 않을 것이다 그들이 입으로는 달갑게 여기면서도, 마음으로는 자기들의 욕심을 따르기 때문이다

( My people come to you, as they usually do, and sit before you to listen to your words, but they do not put them into practice. With their mouths they express devotion, but their hearts are greedy for unjust gain.)

 

33:32 그들은 너를, 악기를 잘 다루고 듣기 좋은 목소리로 사랑의 노래나 부르는 가수쯤으로 생각한다 그래서 그들은, 네가 하는 말을 듣기만 할 뿐, 그 말에 복종하지는 않는다

( Indeed, to them you are nothing more than one who sings love songs with a beautiful voice and plays an instrument well, for they hear your words but do not put them into practice.)

 

33:33 그러나 내가 너에게 시켜서 한 그 말은 반드시 이루어진다 그 말씀이 이루어지면, 그 때에야 비로소 그들 가운데 예언자가 있었다는 것을, 그들이 알게 될 것이다"

( "When all this comes true--and it surely will--then they will know that a prophet has been among them.")

에스겔 34장

 

이스라엘의 목자들

 

34:1 주님께서 나에게 말씀하셨다

( The word of the LORD came to me:)

 

34:2 "사람아, 너는 이스라엘의 목자들을 쳐서 예언하여라 너는 그 목자들을 쳐서 예언하여라 '나 주 하나님이 이렇게 말한다 자기 자신만을 돌보는 이스라엘의 목자들에게 화가 있을 것이다! 목자들이란 양 떼를 먹이는 사람들이 아니냐?

( "Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel; prophesy and say to them: 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: Woe to the shepherds of Israel who only take care of themselves! Should not shepherds take care of the flock?)

 

34:3 그런데 너희는 살진 양을 잡아 기름진 것을 먹고, 양털로 옷을 해 입기는 하면서도, 양 떼를 먹이지는 않았다

( You eat the curds, clothe yourselves with the wool and slaughter the choice animals, but you do not take care of the flock.)

 

34:4 너희는 약한 양들을 튼튼하게 키워 주지 않았으며, 병든 것을 고쳐 주지 않았으며, 다리가 부러지고 상한 것을 싸매어 주지 않았으며, 흩어진 것을 모으지 않았으며, 잃어버린 것을 찾지 않았다 오히려 너희는 양 떼를 강압과 폭력으로 다스렸다

( You have not strengthened the weak or healed the sick or bound up the injured. You have not brought back the strays or searched for the lost. You have ruled them harshly and brutally.)

 

34:5 목자가 없기 때문에, 양 떼가 흩어져서 온갖 들짐승의 먹이가 되었다

( So they were scattered because there was no shepherd, and when they were scattered they became food for all the wild animals.)

 

34:6 내 양 떼가 모든 산과 모든 높은 언덕에서 헤매고, 세계 각처에까지 흩어지게 되었는데도, 그 양 떼를 찾으려고 물어 보는 목자가 하나도 없었다

( My sheep wandered over all the mountains and on every high hill. They were scattered over the whole earth, and no one searched or looked for them.)

 

34:7 그러므로 너희 목자들아, 너희는 나 주의 말을 들어라

( "'Therefore, you shepherds, hear the word of the LORD:)

 

34:8 나 주 하나님의 말이다 내가 나의 삶을 두고 맹세한다 내 양 떼가 약탈을 당하고, 참으로 내 양 떼가 온갖 들짐승에게 공격을 당하고 살육당하여 그것들의 먹이가 된 것은, 목자가 없기 때문이다 내 목자들이라고 하는 자들은 내 양 떼를 찾으려고 나서지 않았다 그 목자들은 양 떼를 잡아서 자기들의 배만 채우고, 내 양 떼는 굶겼다

( As surely as I live, declares the Sovereign LORD, because my flock lacks a shepherd and so has been plundered and has become food for all the wild animals, and because my shepherds did not search for my flock but cared for themselves rather than for my flock,)

 

34:9 그러므로 목자들아, 너희는 나 주의 말을 들어라

( therefore, O shepherds, hear the word of the LORD:)

 

34:10 나 주 하나님이 말한다 내가 그 목자들을 대적하여 그들에게 맡겼던 내 양 떼를 되찾아 오고, 다시는 그들이 내 양을 치지 못하게 하겠다 그러면 그 목자들이 다시는 양 떼를 잡아서 자기들의 배나 채우는 일은 못할 것이다 내가 이렇게 그들의 입에서 내 양 떼를 구출해 내면, 내 양 떼가 다시는 그들에게 잡아 먹히지 않을 것이다'"

( This is what the Sovereign LORD says: I am against the shepherds and will hold them accountable for my flock. I will remove them from tending the flock so that the shepherds can no longer feed themselves. I will rescue my flock from their mouths, and it will no longer be food for them.)

 

하나님은 선한 목자

 

34:11 "참으로 나 주 하나님이 말한다 내가 나의 양 떼를 찾아서 돌보아 주겠다

( "'For this is what the Sovereign LORD says: I myself will search for my sheep and look after them.)

 

34:12 양 떼가 흩어졌을 때에 목자가 자기의 양들을 찾는 것처럼, 나도 내 양 떼를 찾겠다 캄캄하게 구름 낀 날에, 흩어진 그 모든 곳에서, 내 양 떼를 구하여 내겠다

( As a shepherd looks after his scattered flock when he is with them, so will I look after my sheep. I will rescue them from all the places where they were scattered on a day of clouds and darkness.)

 

34:13 내가 여러 민족 속에서 내 양 떼를 데리고 나오고, 그 여러 나라에서 그들을 모아다가, 그들의 땅으로 데리고 들어가서, 이스라엘의 산과 여러 시냇가와 그 땅의 모든 거주지에서 그들을 먹이겠다

( I will bring them out from the nations and gather them from the countries, and I will bring them into their own land. I will pasture them on the mountains of Israel, in the ravines and in all the settlements in the land.)

 

34:14 기름진 초원에서 내가 그들을 먹이고, 이스라엘의 높은 산 위에 그들의 목장을 만들어 주겠다 그들이 거기 좋은 목장에서 누우며, 이스라엘의 산 위에서 좋은 풀을 뜯어 먹을 것이다

( I will tend them in a good pasture, and the mountain heights of Israel will be their grazing land. There they will lie down in good grazing land, and there they will feed in a rich pasture on the mountains of Israel.)

 

34:15 내가 직접 내 양 떼를 먹이고, 내가 직접 내 양 떼를 눕게 하겠다 나 주 하나님의 말이다

( I myself will tend my sheep and have them lie down, declares the Sovereign LORD.)

 

34:16 헤매는 것은 찾아오고, 길 잃은 것은 도로 데려오며, 다리가 부러지고 상한 것은 싸매어 주며, 약한 것은 튼튼하게 만들겠다 그러나 살진 것들과 힘센 것들은, 내가 멸하겠다 내가 이렇게 그것들을 공평하게 먹이겠다

( I will search for the lost and bring back the strays. I will bind up the injured and strengthen the weak, but the sleek and the strong I will destroy. I will shepherd the flock with justice.)

 

34:17 나 주 하나님이 말한다 내 양 떼야, 내가 양과 양 사이와, 숫양과 숫염소 사이에서 심판하겠다

( "'As for you, my flock, this is what the Sovereign LORD says: I will judge between one sheep and another, and between rams and goats.)

 

34:18 살진 양들아, 좋은 초원에서 뜯어 먹는 풀이 만족스럽지 않아서, 먹다 남은 풀을 발로 짓밟느냐? 너희가 마시는 맑은 물이 만족스럽지 않아서, 마시고 남은 물을 발로 더럽혀 놓느냐?

( Is it not enough for you to feed on the good pasture? Must you also trample the rest of your pasture with your feet? Is it not enough for you to drink clear water? Must you also muddy the rest with your feet?)

 

34:19 내 양 떼는 너희가 짓밟은 풀을 뜯어 먹으며, 너희가 발로 더럽혀 놓은 물을 마시고 있다

( Must my flock feed on what you have trampled and drink what you have muddied with your feet?)

 

34:20 그러므로 나 주 하나님이 그들을 두고 이렇게 말한다 내가 직접 살진 양과 여윈 양 사이에서 심판하겠다

( "'Therefore this is what the Sovereign LORD says to them: See, I myself will judge between the fat sheep and the lean sheep.)

 

34:21 너희가 병든 것들을 다 옆구리와 어깨로 밀어내고, 너희의 뿔로 받아서, 그것들을 바깥으로 내보내어 흩어지게 하였다

( Because you shove with flank and shoulder, butting all the weak sheep with your horns until you have driven them away,)

 

34:22 그러므로 내가 내 양 떼를 구해 주어서, 그것들이 다시는 희생을 당하지 않도록 하겠다 그리고 내가 양과 양 사이에서 심판하겠다

( I will save my flock, and they will no longer be plundered. I will judge between one sheep and another.)

 

34:23 내가 그들 위에 목자를 세워 그들을 먹이도록 하겠다 그 목자는 내 종 다윗이다 그가 친히 그들을 먹이고 그들의 목자가 될 것이다

( I will place over them one shepherd, my servant David, and he will tend them; he will tend them and be their shepherd.)

 

34:24 그 때에는 나 주가 그들의 하나님이 되고, 내 종 다윗은 그들의 왕이 될 것이다 나 주가 말하였다

( I the LORD will be their God, and my servant David will be prince among them. I the LORD have spoken.)

 

34:25 내가 그들과 평화의 언약을 세우고, 그 땅에서 해로운 짐승들을 없애 버리겠다 그래야 그들이 광야에서도 평안히 살고, 숲 속에서도 안심하고 잠들 수 있을 것이다

( "'I will make a covenant of peace with them and rid the land of wild beasts so that they may live in the desert and sleep in the forests in safety.)

 

34:26 내가 그들과 내 산 사방에 복을 내려 주겠다 내가 때를 따라 비를 내릴 것이니, 복된 소나기가 내릴 것이다

( I will bless them and the places surrounding my hill. I will send down showers in season; there will be showers of blessing.)

 

34:27 들의 나무가 열매를 맺고, 땅은 그 소산을 내어 줄 것이다 그들이 자기들의 땅에서 평안히 살 것이다 그들이 멘 멍에의 나무를 내가 부러뜨리고, 그들을 노예로 삼은 사람들의 손에서 그들을 구하여 주면, 그 때에야 비로소 그들이, 내가 주인 줄 알게 될 것이다

( The trees of the field will yield their fruit and the ground will yield its crops; the people will be secure in their land. They will know that I am the LORD, when I break the bars of their yoke and rescue them from the hands of those who enslaved them.)

 

34:28 그들이 다시는 다른 나라에게 약탈을 당하지 않으며, 그 땅의 짐승들에게 잡혀 먹히지도 않을 것이다 그들이 평안히 살고, 놀랄 일이 전혀 없을 것이다

( They will no longer be plundered by the nations, nor will wild animals devour them. They will live in safety, and no one will make them afraid.)

 

34:29 내가 그들에게 기름진 옥토를 마련하여 줄 것이니, 그들이 다시는 그 땅에서 흉년으로 몰살을 당하지도 않고, 다른 나라에게 다시 수모를 당하지도 않을 것이다

( I will provide for them a land renowned for its crops, and they will no longer be victims of famine in the land or bear the scorn of the nations.)

 

34:30 그 때에야 비로소 그들이 나 주 그들의 하나님이 그들과 함께 있다는 것과, 그들이 내 백성 이스라엘 족속이라는 것을 알게 될 것이다 나 주 하나님의 말이다

( Then they will know that I, the LORD their God, am with them and that they, the house of Israel, are my people, declares the Sovereign LORD.)

 

34:31 너희는 내 양 떼요, 내 목장의 양 떼다 너희는 사람이요, 나는 너희의 하나님이다 나 주 하나님의 말이다"

( You my sheep, the sheep of my pasture, are people, and I am your God, declares the Sovereign LORD.'")

에스겔 35장

 

35:1 주님께서 나에게 말씀하셨다

( The word of the LORD came to me:)

 

35:2 "사람아, 너의 얼굴을 세일 산 쪽으로 돌리고, 그 곳을 규탄하여 예언하여라

( "Son of man, set your face against Mount Seir; prophesy against it)

 

35:3 너는 그 곳을 규탄하여 말하여라 '나 주 하나님이 이렇게 말한다 세일 산아! 내가 너를 대적한다 내가 내 손을 펴서 너를 치고, 너를 황무지와 폐허로 만들겠다

( and say: 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: I am against you, Mount Seir, and I will stretch out my hand against you and make you a desolate waste.)

 

35:4 내가 네 성읍들을 폐허로 만들면 너는 황무지가 될 것이다 그 때에야 비로소 너는, 내가 주인 줄 알게 될 것이다

( I will turn your towns into ruins and you will be desolate. Then you will know that I am the LORD.)

 

35:5 네가 옛날부터 이스라엘에 한을 품고 있더니, 이스라엘 백성이 재난을 당할 때에, 그들이 그 지은 죄로 심판을 받을 때에, 너는 그들 위에 칼을 휘둘렀다

( "'Because you harbored an ancient hostility and delivered the Israelites over to the sword at the time of their calamity, the time their punishment reached its climax,)

 

35:6 나 주 하나님의 말이다 그러므로 내가 내 삶을 두고 맹세한다 내가 너를 피투성이가 되게 하며, 피 비린내 나는 일이 너를 뒤쫓아 다니게 하겠다 네가 남 죽이기를 좋아하니, 피 비린내 나는 일이 너를 뒤쫓아 다닐 것이다

( therefore as surely as I live, declares the Sovereign LORD, I will give you over to bloodshed and it will pursue you. Since you did not hate bloodshed, bloodshed will pursue you.)

 

35:7 내가 세일 산지를 황무지와 폐허로 바꾸어 놓고, 그 곳을 지나다니는 사람이 없게 하겠다

( I will make Mount Seir a desolate waste and cut off from it all who come and go.)

 

35:8 내가 세일의 모든 산을, 칼에 찔려 죽은 자들로 가득 채워 놓겠다 네 언덕과 골짜기와 모든 시냇물에는, 칼에 찔려 죽은 자들이 널려 있을 것이다

( I will fill your mountains with the slain; those killed by the sword will fall on your hills and in your valleys and in all your ravines.)

 

35:9 내가 너를 영영 황무지로 만들어 버리고, 네 성읍들에서 다시는 사람이 살 수 없게 하겠다 그 때에야 비로소 너희는, 내가 주인 줄 알 것이다

( I will make you desolate forever; your towns will not be inhabited. Then you will know that I am the LORD.)

 

35:10 너는, 나 주가 유다와 이스라엘을 돌보는데도 감히 말하기를, 그 두 민족과 그 두 나라가 네 것이 되고 네 소유가 될 것이라고 하였다

( "'Because you have said, "These two nations and countries will be ours and we will take possession of them," even though I the LORD was there,)

 

35:11 나 주 하나님의 말이다 그러므로 내가 나의 삶을 두고 맹세한다 네가 그들을 미워하여 분노를 터뜨리고 질투를 한 것과 똑같이, 나도 네게 보복하겠다 내가 너를 심판할 때에야 비로소, 내가 누구인지 모두 알게 될 것이다

( therefore as surely as I live, declares the Sovereign LORD, I will treat you in accordance with the anger and jealousy you showed in your hatred of them and I will make myself known among them when I judge you.)

 

35:12 그 때에야 비로소 너는, 내가 주인 줄 알게 될 것이다 네가 또 이스라엘의 산을 가리켜 말하기를, 저 산들이 황폐해졌으니 너희의 것이 되었다고 말하며 조롱하였지만, 내가 너에게 보복하는 날, 너는 네가 조롱하는 소리를 내가 다 들었다는 것을 알게 될 것이다

( Then you will know that I the LORD have heard all the contemptible things you have said against the mountains of Israel. You said, "They have been laid waste and have been given over to us to devour.")

 

35:13 너희가 입을 벌려 나를 거슬러 허풍을 떨고, 나를 거슬러 빈정대는 말을 내가 직접 들었다

( You boasted against me and spoke against me without restraint, and I heard it.)

 

35:14 그러므로 나 주 하나님이 이렇게 말한다 내가 너를 황폐하게 만들 때에, 온 땅이 기뻐할 것이다

( This is what the Sovereign LORD says: While the whole earth rejoices, I will make you desolate.)

 

35:15 이스라엘 족속의 소유가 황폐하게 되었다고 네가 기뻐했던 것과 똑같이, 나도 너를 그렇게 만들어 놓겠다 세일 산과 에돔 온 땅아, 네가 황폐하게 될 것이다 그 때에야 비로소 그들이, 내가 주인 줄 알 것이다'"

( Because you rejoiced when the inheritance of the house of Israel became desolate, that is how I will treat you. You will be desolate, O Mount Seir, you and all of Edom. Then they will know that I am the LORD.'")

36:1 "너 사람아, 너는 이스라엘의 산들에게 이렇게 예언하여 일러라 '이스라엘의 산들아, 너희는 나 주의 말을 들어라

( "Son of man, prophesy to the mountains of Israel and say, 'O mountains of Israel, hear the word of the LORD.)

 

36:2 나 주 하나님이 말한다 너희의 원수가 너희를 차지할 생각을 하면서 옛적부터 있던 고지대가 이제 자기들의 소유가 되었다고 좋아한다'

( This is what the Sovereign LORD says: The enemy said of you, "Aha! The ancient heights have become our possession." ')

 

36:3 너는 이스라엘의 산들에게 이렇게 예언하여 일러라 '나 주 하나님이 이렇게 말한다 그 원수들이 너희를 황폐하게 만들었고, 사방에서 너희를 삼켜 버려서, 너희가 다른 민족의 소유가 되었으므로, 너희가 사람들의 입에 오르내리며, 조롱거리가 되었다

( Therefore prophesy and say, 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: Because they ravaged and hounded you from every side so that you became the possession of the rest of the nations and the object of people's malicious talk and slander,)

 

36:4 그러므로 너희 이스라엘의 산들아, 너희는 나 주 하나님의 말을 들어라 나 주 하나님이 말한다 산과 언덕에게, 시냇물과 골짜기에게, 황폐해진 황무지에게, 그리고 사방에 남아 있는 성읍들, 곧 다른 민족들이 약탈하여 조롱거리가 된 버림받은 성읍들에게 말한다

( therefore, O mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Sovereign LORD: This is what the Sovereign LORD says to the mountains and hills, to the ravines and valleys, to the desolate ruins and the deserted towns that have been plundered and ridiculed by the rest of the nations around you--)

 

36:5 나 주 하나님이 이렇게 말한다 진실로 내가 나의 맹렬한 질투를 그대로 쏟아서, 남아 있는 이방 민족들과 에돔 온 땅을 쳐서 말한다 그들은 내 땅을 자기들의 소유로 만들면서 기뻐하였고, 내 땅의 주민을 멸시하면서 내쫓고, 내 땅의 목초지를 약탈하고 차지하였다'

( this is what the Sovereign LORD says: In my burning zeal I have spoken against the rest of the nations, and against all Edom, for with glee and with malice in their hearts they made my land their own possession so that they might plunder its pastureland.')

 

36:6 그러므로 너는 이스라엘 땅을 두고 예언하고, 산과 언덕에게, 시냇물과 골짜기에게 전하여라 '나 주 하나님이 이렇게 말한다 너희가 뭇 민족에게 수치를 당하였기 때문에, 내가 질투와 분노를 그대로 쏟으면서 말한다

( Therefore prophesy concerning the land of Israel and say to the mountains and hills, to the ravines and valleys: 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: I speak in my jealous wrath because you have suffered the scorn of the nations.)

 

36:7 그러므로 나 주 하나님이 이렇게 말한다 내가 직접 내 손을 들고 맹세하였다 진실로 너희의 사방에 있는 이방 민족들이 스스로 수치를 당하게 될 것이다

( Therefore this is what the Sovereign LORD says: I swear with uplifted hand that the nations around you will also suffer scorn.)

 

36:8 내 백성 이스라엘이 곧 고국으로 돌아올 터이니, 너희 이스라엘의 산들아, 너희는 내 백성을 위하여 나뭇가지를 내어 뻗고, 열매를 맺어라

( "'But you, O mountains of Israel, will produce branches and fruit for my people Israel, for they will soon come home.)

 

36:9 내가 너희의 편을 들겠다 내가 너희에게로 얼굴을 돌리면, 사람들이 너희 산악지대를 갈아서 씨를 뿌릴 것이다

( I am concerned for you and will look on you with favor; you will be plowed and sown,)

 

36:10 그리고 내가 너희 이스라엘 족속의 인구가 늘게 하여, 성읍들에 사람이 다시 살고, 폐허를 다시 건설할 것이다

( and I will multiply the number of people upon you, even the whole house of Israel. The towns will be inhabited and the ruins rebuilt.)

 

36:11 내가 너희 산들 위에 사람과 짐승을 많게 하여, 그들의 숫자가 많아지고 번창할 것이다 산들아, 내가 너희를 예전처럼 사람들이 살도록 하고, 전보다 더 좋아지게 해주겠다 그 때에야 비로소 너희는, 내가 주인 줄 알 것이다

( I will increase the number of men and animals upon you, and they will be fruitful and become numerous. I will settle people on you as in the past and will make you prosper more than before. Then you will know that I am the LORD.)

 

36:12 내가 너희 산들 위에 사람들이, 곧 내 백성 이스라엘이 다시 다니게 하겠다 그들이 너희를 차지하고, 너희는 그들의 소유가 될 것이다 너희는 내 백성 이스라엘이 또 다시 자식을 빼앗기지 않게 할 것이다

( I will cause people, my people Israel, to walk upon you. They will possess you, and you will be their inheritance; you will never again deprive them of their children.)

 

36:13 나 주 하나님이 이렇게 말한다 사람들이 너를 두고 사람을 삼키는 땅이요, 제 백성에게서 자식을 빼앗아 간 땅이라고 말하지만,

( "'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: Because people say to you, "You devour men and deprive your nation of its children,")

 

36:14 네가 다시는 사람을 삼키지 않고, 다시는 네 백성에게서 자식을 빼앗아 가지 않을 것이다 나 주 하나님의 말이다

( therefore you will no longer devour men or make your nation childless, declares the Sovereign LORD.)

 

36:15 내가 다시는 이방 나라들이 너를 비웃지 못하게 하며 뭇 민족이 다시는 너를 조롱하지 못하게 하겠다 너도 다시는 네 백성을 넘어지게 하지 않을 것이다 나 주 하나님의 말이다'"

( No longer will I make you hear the taunts of the nations, and no longer will you suffer the scorn of the peoples or cause your nation to fall, declares the Sovereign LORD.'")

 

이스라엘을 정결하게 하시다

 

36:16 주님께서 나에게 말씀하셨다

( Again the word of the LORD came to me:)

 

36:17 "사람아, 이스라엘 족속이 자기들의 땅에 살 때에 그 행위로 그 땅을 더럽혔다 내가 보기에 그 소행이 월경 중에 있는 여자의 부정함과 같았다

( "Son of man, when the people of Israel were living in their own land, they defiled it by their conduct and their actions. Their conduct was like a woman's monthly uncleanness in my sight.)

 

36:18 그들이 죄 없는 사람들의 피를 흘려 그 땅을 더럽혔으며, 온갖 우상을 섬겨 그 땅을 더럽혔으므로, 그들에게 내 분노를 쏟아 부었다

( So I poured out my wrath on them because they had shed blood in the land and because they had defiled it with their idols.)

 

36:19 내가 그들을 그 행위대로 심판하여 그들을 여러 나라들 속으로 쫓아 보내며, 여러 나라에 흩어지게 하였다

( I dispersed them among the nations, and they were scattered through the countries; I judged them according to their conduct and their actions.)

 

36:20 그들은 여러 나라에 흩어져서, 가는 곳마다 내 거룩한 이름을 더럽혔다 그래서, 이방 사람들은 그들을 보고 '주의 백성이지만 주의 땅에서 쫓겨난 자들'이라고 하였다

( And wherever they went among the nations they profaned my holy name, for it was said of them, 'These are the LORD'S people, and yet they had to leave his land.')

 

36:21 나는, 이스라엘 족속이 여러 나라에 흩어져서, 가는 곳마다 더럽혀 놓았지만, 내 거룩한 이름이 더럽혀지는 것을 그대로 둘 수 없다

( I had concern for my holy name, which the house of Israel profaned among the nations where they had gone.)

 

36:22 그러므로 너는 이스라엘 족속에게 전하여라 '나 주 하나님이 이렇게 말한다 이스라엘 족속아, 내가 이렇게 하려고 하는 까닭은 너희들을 생각해서가 아니라, 너희가 여러 나라에 흩어져서, 가는 곳마다 더럽혀 놓은 내 거룩한 이름을 회복시키려고 해서다

( "Therefore say to the house of Israel, 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: It is not for your sake, O house of Israel, that I am going to do these things, but for the sake of my holy name, which you have profaned among the nations where you have gone.)

 

36:23 너희가 여러 나라에 흩어져 살면서 내 이름을 더럽혀 놓았으므로, 거기에서 더럽혀진 내 큰 이름을 내가 다시 거룩하게 하겠다 이방 사람들이 지켜 보는 앞에서, 너희에게 내가 내 거룩함을 밝히 드러 내면, 그 때에야 비로소 그들도, 내가 주인 줄 알 것이다 나 주 하나님의 말이다

( I will show the holiness of my great name, which has been profaned among the nations, the name you have profaned among them. Then the nations will know that I am the LORD, declares the Sovereign LORD, when I show myself holy through you before their eyes.)

 

36:24 내가 너희를 이방 민족들 가운데서 데리고 나아오며, 그 여러 나라에서 너희를 모아다가, 너희의 나라로 데리고 들어가겠다

( "'For I will take you out of the nations; I will gather you from all the countries and bring you back into your own land.)

 

36:25 그리고 내가 너희에게 맑은 물을 뿌려서 너희를 정결하게 하며, 너희의 온갖 더러움과 너희가 우상들을 섬긴 모든 더러움을 깨끗하게 씻어 주며,

( I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean; I will cleanse you from all your impurities and from all your idols.)

 

36:26 너희에게 새로운 마음을 주고 너희 속에 새로운 영을 넣어 주며, 너희 몸에서 돌같이 굳은 마음을 없애고 살갗처럼 부드러운 마음을 주며,

( I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.)

 

36:27 너희 속에 내 영을 두어, 너희가 나의 모든 율례대로 행동하게 하겠다 그러면 너희가 내 모든 규례를 지키고 실천할 것이다

( And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws.)

 

36:28 그 때에는 내가 너희 조상에게 준 땅에서 너희가 살아서, 너희는 내 백성이 되고, 나는 너희의 하나님이 될 것이다

( You will live in the land I gave your forefathers; you will be my people, and I will be your God.)

 

36:29 내가 너희를 그 모든 더러운 곳에서 구원하여 낸 다음에는, 곡식의 소출을 풍성하게 하여, 다시는 너희에게 흉년이 들지 않게 하며,

( I will save you from all your uncleanness. I will call for the grain and make it plentiful and will not bring famine upon you.)

 

36:30 나무에 과일이 많이 맺히고 밭에서 소출이 많이 나게 하여, 너희가 다시는 굶주림 때문에 다른 여러 나라의 조롱을 받지 않게 하겠다

( I will increase the fruit of the trees and the crops of the field, so that you will no longer suffer disgrace among the nations because of famine.)

 

36:31 그 때에 너희가 너희의 악한 생활과 좋지 못했던 행실들을 기억하고, 너희의 온갖 악과 역겨운 일들 때문에 너희 자신을 미워하게 될 것이다

( Then you will remember your evil ways and wicked deeds, and you will loathe yourselves for your sins and detestable practices.)

 

36:32 내가 이렇게 하는 것은 너희 때문이 아니라는 것을 너희가 알아야 한다 나 주 하나님의 말이다 이스라엘 족속아, 너희의 행실을 부끄러워하고, 수치스러운 줄 알아라!

( I want you to know that I am not doing this for your sake, declares the Sovereign LORD. Be ashamed and disgraced for your conduct, O house of Israel!)

 

36:33 나 주 하나님이 말한다 내가 너희에게서 그 모든 죄를 깨끗이 씻어 주는 날에는, 너희의 성읍에도 사람이 살게 하며, 폐허 위에도 집을 짓게 하겠다

( "'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: On the day I cleanse you from all your sins, I will resettle your towns, and the ruins will be rebuilt.)

 

36:34 이전에는 지나가는 사람들이 황폐한 땅을 보며 지나다녔으나, 이제는 그 곳이 묵어 있지 않고, 오히려 잘 경작된 밭이 될 것이다

( The desolate land will be cultivated instead of lying desolate in the sight of all who pass through it.)

 

36:35 그래서 사람들이 말하기를, 황폐하던 바로 그 땅이 이제는 에덴 동산처럼 되었고 무너져서 폐허와 황무지가 되었던 성읍마다 성벽이 쌓여 올라가서 사람 사는 땅이 되었다고 할 것이다

( They will say, "This land that was laid waste has become like the garden of Eden; the cities that were lying in ruins, desolate and destroyed, are now fortified and inhabited.")

 

36:36 그 때에야 비로소 너희의 사면에 남아 있는 여러 나라들이, 바로 나 주가 무너진 것을 다시 세우며, 황폐한 땅에 다시 나무를 심는 줄을 깨달아 알 것이다 나 주가 말하였으니, 내가 이룰 것이다!

( Then the nations around you that remain will know that I the LORD have rebuilt what was destroyed and have replanted what was desolate. I the LORD have spoken, and I will do it.')

 

36:37 나 주 하나님이 말한다 이제 나는 다시 한 번 이스라엘 족속을 시켜서 내게 도움을 간청하게 하겠고, 그들의 인구를 양 떼처럼 불어나게 하겠다

( "This is what the Sovereign LORD says: Once again I will yield to the plea of the house of Israel and do this for them: I will make their people as numerous as sheep,)

 

36:38 성회 때마다 거룩한 제물로 바칠 양 떼가 예루살렘으로 몰려들듯이, 폐허가 된 성읍들이 사람들로 가득 차게 하겠다 그 때에야 비로소 그들이, 내가 주인 줄 알 것이다'"

( as numerous as the flocks for offerings at Jerusalem during her appointed feasts. So will the ruined cities be filled with flocks of people. Then they will know that I am the LORD.")
